curious...

why does this cost 6k, when the spider fur cloak, with 1 less strength, 6sv cold, and 4 stamina, which gives around 30 hp perhaps, costs around 2-3k? For 1 strength, 15hp, you have to pay 3k more? Seemed kind of strange to me.

One might also consider that spider fur cloak drops in Velketor's, which is more of a 40-45-ish zone, whereas this can be gotten in low 30s if you're good. Tougher to get = costlier to buy (sort of). Also, spider fur weighs much less, which adds to value for monks

Well there are a lot of things. This is an old world item, and no required or recomended levels. You get those HP at any level. I THINK Stamina works like wis and int? The higher the level the more pool you get from it? Meaning you might not see the full bonus of stamina, where as the HP show up right away. Unfortunately there is a pretty heavy tide of change in MANA and HP items for power leveling new characters. That and super high end stuff. Rarity has a lot to do with it also.

Because the pricing data here is reported by players and unreliable at best. Sometimes people put in high prices to increase the precieved value because they have one to sell, but in most cases it is high because it includes dated (i.e., old) data. If you look at the details of the price you will notice the inflation comes from price estimates put in over a year ago. The last 2 prices submitted are 500pp and 750pp which is more in line with current prices following SoV and SoL.

stamina is different for every class. at level 60, 1 sta = around 1 hp for my druid. so this would give me a whopping 4 or 5 hp.

Rarity, my friend... Rarity.

Rarity doesn't apply here. The Spiderfur is almost universally better (would say this is better for warriors who solo and use the trick with taking off HP gear to bind wounds higher). No one is going to pay more for an inferior item. The only place rarity really affects prices is on lore items. So the light burlap sack costs more than the evil eye bag, even though the evil eye bag is superior, because people want both.

Of course, rarity can explain why item X, which is only slightly better than item Y, is ten times the value, or why some item that's real special purpose can be really expensive.
good cloak

this is a great item the hp (45) is good with the 5 str added to it you think more warriors would have it. 10ac is great the next best thing for a warrior is a polar bear cloak and they aint that good for a warrior. this item should be on every mid lvl warriors christmas list.

cloak of shadows is sooooo much better im not sure if its 13ac 12dex or 12ac 13dex but AC is king

This is half the price of a Cloak of Shadows, so its a little easier to get if you are having trouble finding one.

Actually, AC is nice, but resists are king. Who cares if you have 1100 AC if you get charmed and start beating the hell out of your cleric?

LMAO Ain't that the truth. Smartest comment I've seen in awhile, Limbas.

Actually, as a warrior, skip the cloak slot for your resists..CoS is nice , but for a war...naw Lodi Shield or Ancient Seahorse Hide Cloak.
Use Rings and earrings for resists. Any war worth his salt should have resist gear. On a normal day to day routine AC is King..Resists are for the individual circustances that they are needed for. and if you dont know if should have resist gear or ac/hp gear on..your already dead
Very nice

Excellent cloak. Some nice AC (for a cloak) +5 Str (every 5 points in a stat, you hit a milestone where they become more efficient) and +45 HP which at higher levels may seem like nothing (You are hit for 200 damage) but coupled with any other items you have chanced upon, that can be extremely effective. It gives you the 3 most important stats to most melee (if not all). AC, Str, and HP are top priority, bar none. Get this item, now!

Actually SAVES SAVES SAVES at higher lvls ac don't do jack when you get blasted for 1k+damage a shot. Still is a nice cloak and you can normally get buffs if not you need nice saves(vel rings BD bracers should help out...)
Great All-Around Melle Cloak!

Hello All,

Even with all the new items flooding out of Velius the HBC is still one of the nicer Mid-Price-Range cloaks. 10AC is great for tanks and extra 45 make those Comeplate Heals all the more mana efficant!
