But would I use it instead of a Blade of War?
Yes I would. More HP, more defensive benefits and more aggro builders.
I wish the would implement some sort of real shield skill which you can use more effective.

Haste is a highly argued issue but there are a few things that most people will agree with at least. Haste is actually an increase in damage over time accomplished through a decrease in 'effective' delay. Note that the physical delay on your weapon will never change, though haste will still cause you to swing more often. It is ineffective to judge a weapon by its "hasted delay" haste has approximately the same effect for overall DPS on any weapon. Hopefully that helps, if not test your own theories :grin:

Exactly. Haste directly increases number of swings. The indirect results are increased damage over time, and decreased delay.

Thats not how haste works buddy.

20dly * (100/(100+90)) = 10dly

31dly * (100/(100+90)) = 16dly

Big difference from your delays above. Depending on the frequencey of the procs this might make a hell of a nice argo weapon.

max damage and crit damage?? Well that of course depends on skill/STR/level but..you would be hitting over 100 normal damage, 185 190 crit...hmm holy damn i'll have to get me one of thems. Rar

actually for max hit you'd be hitting somewhere around 250-275 or so. max crit would probably be somewhere in the 400's

Actually anybody wielding this weapon will be maxed in the 3 areas you just mentioned, and str does NOT affect max hit or max crit, only things that affect damage are lvl(dmgbonus), your skills and stats on weapon. Also, a 15 dmg 1hander scores max hit for 102, and max crit for 172, so you can dream bigger for your crits with this weapon. Smiley: yippee

McGonical, you are correct for the most part, but attack also effects max damage as well. From what I can tell through using various weapons on my characters of several different levels max damage is based upon level and the damage of your weapon, however you must have a certain level of ATK in order to hit for that amount. To test this take a lower level char (30's or 40's works best) and grab a full set of atk buffs from a 65 ranger, note the difference in max damage w/ higher ATK (assuming you weren't incredibly twinked). I have noticed as well that the actual limit on damage is imposed thru level and the damage on your weapon, after a certain point an increase in atk only increases your chance to hit, average damage and chance to hit for max damage. Still all very good things. So basically ATK does play a small part in max damage but at the level you would get this item all ATK more than likely wouldn't be a determinant for your max damage as it will be incredibly high already

The reason your lvl 30 or 40 character is getting higher max damage when he's buffed is cause at lvl 30 your weapon skills aren't maxed so the extra atk from buffs brings your total atk number to where it will be when your skills would be maxed. Which brings me to my point in replying to your post Weewo, OF COURSE atk affects your DPS but we werent talking about DPS here, we were talking about the damage you could do with one SINGLE hit. And btw, ATK is calculated from your str and skill lvls(offense, 1hs,2hs...) as well as any modifiers on your gear(veng, aob).

I dont get how you got started on how atk affects dps when all I mentioned is the max hit for a 15 dmg weapon and what is used to determine that dmg.(didnt they teach you not to count your apples with your oranges in elementary school?)

If 2 people of the same lvl with same value of offense, weapon skill they will both have the same max hit and max crit even if one has thousands of atk more. /sigh,,, yes weewo... the one with higher atk will have better DPS but thats not what I was saying.

my 47 warrior has a di`zok somthin... stats are 35dmg 43dly hits for about 115 regular 200 crit, havn't played him for about a month damages might be a bit off.

Even tho EB adds 50 more hate, so it seems anyway; Anger's DD and stun will add to the 650 if u look at the spell data....so it's prolly more like 800-1000. Any warrior worth their wooden leg would want this, including me. The HP's/damage/taunt is unreal plus the stun and ac is a great bonus.

StrikeThrought is a PoP aa ability that allows you to get a round an enemy's special defence and hit them. this swords Modifier increases the chaces of that happening.

Sorry to tell you this Labradorian but you got it all WRONG, and I hope everybody who rated your post excellent comes back to see this cause they all walking around thinking strikethrough is a AA...

Strikethrough is NOT an AA. Its an effect found on items from plane of Time. It probably checks each time you get parried or riposted or blocked and such, giving you a chance to hit your target normally.

This sword does NOT increase the chances of Tactical mastery going off but has its own check. Im pretty sure it even gives a message when it happens (UNLIKE the AA).

Anyway just needed to clear that up. Hate seeing peeps post wrong info and then get rated excellent (whats up with that????).

"and the proc generates less hate" ????? Well if you are talking only "hate", this is true. BoC and Bloodfrenzy proc deals out an additional 50 hate. But if you think their proc will gain more aggro you are insane. How will 700 hate out-aggro 650 hate, plus 100 DD, plus stun? And I would take 34/31 over 15/20 any day. Over 100% more damage in only 50% more time. Do the math. You overestimate the importance of speed. Not to mention fewer ripostes.

As commented below, the slower ratio on this one makes it VERY attractive to reduce riposte damage. The best 1HS for warrior around.

Since, you know, warriors dual wield in high-end PoP. Those ripostes tear through tanks. Look at how many tanks use BoWar. This has a damn good ratio, compared to the BoWar. More hps, more raw AC, and the proc is over-all better.

You go use those faster weapons, and get dropped by Riposte. Bi.

I disagree. It is only 50 hate less, much more damage per swing. The stun is also a 100 DD and a stun(huge aggro). Stats are much better. Fact of the matter is the proc on this is not bad enough for a MA to lose aggro in my opinion.

under similar raid conditions (assuming max haste, over cap haste from rizlona), this sword will swing roughly 75% slower than one of the two I mentioned in my original post. So, unless the dd and stun manage to generate another 500 or so hate per proc, it will have a hard time keeping up on the hate generated with the "lesser" weapons.

Do the math on the aggro generated by the two, the riposte damage is a nice point to this weapon, but I'm not convinced it outweighs the downside of (on the surface) not generating as much hate as other weapons.

Aggro is a bit more complicated then how fast you swing. SoE is the only one that truely understands all the aspects, and if they release this a year and a half after the hategiver, whether you like it or not, its going to be an upgrade to those older weapons, tis beyond your understanding of how things work. Just my 2cp
