I would tend to agree with Elessarion, whats the big deal? There are items with a bit more INT and better AC going for half the price. What gives? I would not pay 2k for this stuff. Look at sentient armor... much better value, the helm alone adds more int, more ac, and generally goes for half as much.

Cost vs Effectiveness?
# Nov 14 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, I am looking at the price, and while I could have bought this last night for, oh, 2 - 4 hundred pp, I wonder why I would, compared with my 100pp Cloak of the ice bear, or even a lizardscale cloak? Is it really that much better? (for a Ranger) Let alone the 2000pp+ price that is listed.

Rarity or not, I am just looking at the numbers. I keep thinking I must be missing something so please enlighten me why this is so expensive.

Thanks,
Elessarion

Also Int does play a role in how fast you learn new skill (along with wis) including combat, trade and spell casting skills

Well, I rather enjoy the Int bonus being an SK. And I would not mind taking it off of your hands if you find it a burden. Until last night (5-23-01 when i got one of these from a guild member) I have been wearing my Cabilis Scale Cape. Wich is 8ac only. So this thing is a dramatic upgrade.

It has 8 ac, among other things! Oh, of course, YOU have way better stuff, I'm sure, but one little fact here, bub, not everyone does! What melee class has any use for it? Well, let's see, how about any chain or higher class that likes +4 dex for procs? While we are at it, that +4 int would be nice for any SK out there. The two minor saves, while they may not be much compared to the +35 resist all gear I am sure you are wearing, do add up, and (supposedly) help with, guess what, RESISTING!
