We have cleared RZ every week since about mid december 04. Thus far we have only gotten 3 of these shields, myself getting lucky enough to get the last one.
Common?

"common" means it's recorded to drop usually when Rallos Zek in poTime is killed.

It does NOT mean it's easy to get.

(yes i know u'r kidding)

Pour pally

LVL 60 Pally here and I am very hurt that they stole all my taunting ability on this latest patch, and this shield is now my revenge.
LONG LIVE THE PALIDIN UBER AGGRO!!!

They didn't "steal" anything, they simply made what has always happened be visible to you. Taunt has always sucked, all that little red message does is tell you how bad it has always sucked.
And don't say anything about a "nerf" since knights lost nothing. All that happened in the last patch is they added an alert to Taunt, and gave Warriors a leg to stand on for xp groups.

All I can say is, about damn time. You'll live. Gives you knights a challenge now.

Ultimate Warrior
# Oct 21 2003 at 5:49 PM Rating: Excellent
Imagine for a moment, Warrior using this shield, Darkblade, Raex BP (Echo of anger) and +600 Anger proc from LDON. One bash and procs from the sword, and you would never pull agro. Insane to see but if I was a warrior and Time Enabled, that is exactly what I would do. Less DMG yes, but TONS of agro and less Repostes. Truly an awsome item.
RE: Ultimate Warrior
# Mar 01 2005 at 9:55 PM Rating: Decent
LOL you ****** the downfall of warriors has always been their ability to hold aggro ---- get all the **** you want and any pally or sk will take aggro from you at will
RE: Ultimate Warrior
# Oct 22 2003 at 11:31 PM Rating: Good
now only if more warriors thought like you...

see in the end the objective is to get the most aggro, the most taunt, hp, ac an recieve the less amount of dmg, less amount of repostes and the less amount of mana wasted to stay alive..this is the true warrior dream...we are not dps..don't call us this...call us a tank..we can get hit but won't fall is our moto...an this is what i am saying...an the idea u have is completely correct. the hate would be just utterly gross.

yea nice combo but not always worth it
RE: Ultimate Warrior
# Aug 04 2004 at 2:59 PM Rating: Default
What are you talking about yadeabrotha.

For one, DBoTW + SoS is always worth it. FB + anger > all other forms of aggro for a warrior.

Raex BP is the 2nd highest hp / ac breastplate a warrior can recieve. An also has a worn aggro effect. (Which is a slightly higher version of VoT , which makes the line of VoT spells non stacking with a warrior with thsi bp).

DBoTW almost any highend warrior will use, its slow enough to be like a 2handed weapon but only one handed. The anger proc is a 600hate raise by 100dmg dd stun (which equals out to around almost 1k of hate per proc.) As well as having a 30% chance to proc over defualt proc frequency. (With WA5 thats a total of 80% more procs from this weapon , or with a Bloodfrenzy a 105% chance to proc over defualt ratio (but bf is a 700 hate raise only).

An outside of the Blackstone buckler (spelling ?) Its one of the best shields accessable.

An for mobs like RZtW who can SIEROUSLY 1 round a 11k hp tank, its well f!cking worth the chance of not taking a reposte hit that could be the decision of whether you live or die.

Since the FB effect does not modify a warrior's proc hate, it is of limited value. I have been using the FBV shield from PoEB for some time now and I must conclude that posts suggesting that it does not modify hate are correct. It only helps if you actively bash with it, and from what I've seen, it is not much help. The OoW shield block AA could enhance the usefulness substantially, but it would not help your aggro.

The new OoW Slippery Attacks AA makes (relatively) safe DWing possible against almost any mob. While any tool is another tool you can use in the right situation, attempting to MT by relying on the FB shields will shift the burden of controlling aggro from the MT and more towards the raid.

While I would certainly put one of these to use if I had one, I think it would be best utilized in the off-hand of a knight. It all comes down to whether or not your raid can control aggro while you single-wield. If not, you may have trouble holding aggro when caster DPS ramps up late in fights.

BRAVO!!!

nice post, specially coming straight from a warrior. theres words spreading around that furious bash is reliable agro, which is not, if it is even any agro (i dont believe it has any agro, if it does its VERY small). I very much cant stand it when a warrior shifts to a shield (the misinformed warriors...) and peeps start falling down as he loses agro.

Its like 70% i think i saw somewhere on steelwarrior. I got FB 3 now and sheildblock 3, helped alot with Rallos Zek. Aggro is fairly easy to hold if you have WA5 and an Aug. With FB 3(30%)i still dont think it does ****, but every lil bit helps i guess. I'd like it more for the Shieldblock 3,AC, and sheilding % more than proc.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 20 2003 at 3:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ive actually had the pleasure of seeing a warrior using the combo you specified above. Thinking why would a warrior want to reduce damage output since they have dual weild and duel attack. Well simply put, warriors are not made to be damage output. Their primary function is to take damage and live and to keep agro. This combo ensures that no matter how screwed up your group is.
RE: yes
# Dec 19 2003 at 3:29 PM Rating: Default
yup... Id rather have a warrior do half the damage and allow the 2 or 3 dd'rs in the group to get off 1 -2 more nukes each mob imo.

Question...
# Jul 03 2003 at 3:31 PM Rating: Good
I don't assume to know much about the high end of this game as I haven't even been flagged for the elemental planes yet... However I do try and keep up with all the new gear coming out from PoT.

That said, because of ripost damage in PoP, would a MT assuming he had access to the Darkblade of the Warlord (34/31 45ac 225hps tons of stats) be able to use that in his primary, this in his secondary with the amazing stats and AC this has and still be able to keep the aggro he gets with furious bash 7, than if he was using a bloodfrenzy or BoC in offhand, while reducing the amount of riposte damage signifigantly? Just food for thought...
