No one ever makes this on my server except for guild-mates and RL friends, mostly because of the HUGE cost of failure. A shame, really.
I've made as many of these as I can get materials for.
A sum total of one.
My cleric very happily swapped this in, in exchange for his luminant heraldic BP, for the extra mana and resists.
I'd love to make these to sell, but it took me almost 4 months to get 6 scales to make one.

Indeed, the plate armors are, in my opinion, not really as worth it to make as the chain armors -- this, for instance, assuming no failures anywhere in the recipe, takes 3 tempers and 6 pristine scales, whereas the Tae Ew Chain Tunic takes 2 temper without any pristine scales. Admittedly, none of the listed classes get any use out of the chain tunic but it is still, in my opinion, a better allocation of resources than this.

Chain tunic takes only ONE distilled lizard blood temper (perhaps you meant two tae ew bloods?)

Ok, lets say you're farming the lizards and you do come a long 6 scales, I think it would be a waste to not do the combine. It's just one extra temper and you will not be doing the same combine everyone else is doing meaning you can sell it for more.

ahem, err i disagree with ya, maybe rogue clas wont, but is actually a great item for ranger, and shammy. For post 50+ not in a ToV guild or upper tier (ornate) this thing is great for ac and wis. I currently have 270wis WITH this thing on.
Maybe its because they are selling for 4500- 5k on morell thule. Peeps mass producing them for skill ups along with the shields has driven the prices WAY down. Seeing a mule with 6 tunics and 5 shields is jus sick, i dont even make them because of this.

he means the classes for the plate armor, not the ones that can use the chain because I mean think about it, it was made for them to use initially because us plate wearing classes can wear the plate.
the fact the chain bp has 50 hp while the plate bp has 40 seems to say to me... /rude plate classes

yes it has 40 hp but it also has 10 stamina, which in turn converts into hp. how much stamina does the chain tunic have?

IMO if you have 250 smithing do Livestone or Farwater or Windessence, (all 65ac just stats are different so if you lack something i guess you can take your pick in stats) that is if you have the option of getting the components
