ER4 Primary slot book drops in LDoN hard Adventures and is relatively easy to get to. It's the Nro camp, also the ER4 Wand of the Icestorms drops off BoT tower bosses and is pretty common. BTW You don't have to win the adventure to get the loot. <smile> <Hint-Hint>
Only your best focus item will activate. no stacking. For example gauntlets of vengeful fury (with 20% mana preservation for condemnation) will activate when a cleric casts condemnation, but his boots of vengeful fury (10% mana preservation) will not.
When I cast a quick heal with my Wanderer's Sylvan Sleeves (Improved Healing 4) and my Wanderer's Sylyvan Boots (Mana Preserv 4), I get messages for both.
Your Wanderer's Slyvan Sleeves begin to glow. You have healed %t 1078 points. Your Wanderer's Slyvan Boots begin to glow.
What he said is correct. His example was of two effects that were the same: Mana Preservation. Your example is of two entirely different effects: Mana Preservation and Improved Healing.
Extended range is actually the one focus effect that DOES work with complete heals. Note that it is the only one that does not have "Limit: Complete Heal excluded" and "Limit: Percentage Heals excluded" in it's Lucy description.
The number of items that have Extended Range IV on them is actually fairly small, and this one has good stats to go along with it, making it an even nicer piece.
This item makes a real case for being Garudon's best drop, simply because of the absence of useful Extended Range 4 in the game. The focus effect doesn't seem like it would have as big of an impact as other, flashier, foci. But in reality, there are more than a handful of PoP encounters where ER4 is almost a necessity for anyone actually wanting to contribute spells and survive. With the most common ER4 item being the Ceramic Sword of War, the stats on this (and the comparatively weaker stats on masks versus range slots in mid-to-high PoP in general) make this vastly superior.
Well, even if an extended range foci buffs the range on CH, cleric's CH spell is level 39, so if I remember right all you need is extended range 2 if you're thinking along the lines of better being able to hide the CH line. Also, if you want to hide the CH line and use ER as a workhorse rather than a failsafe, you'd need to make sure that the whole line has extended range items.
But extended range is a focus effect that is really usefull to any class that has ever seen an "out of range" message when trying to cast a spell (read: just about any caster class in the game). I mean, if this focus effect worked for MGBs, it would be absolutely awesome for when a cleric does MGB elixer, or when any class is doing MGB buffs. If it works for wave heals, any pally would LOVE to have a ER item because pallies end up doing a LOT of wave heals at raids, and that extra assurance that everyone in the group is gonna be in range would be really nice. And any pally that's ever had someone move out of range of cleansing heals while they're being cast knows how much the 30 second repop sucks =P. So really, just about any caster could make a really good arguement for getting an ER 4 item.
But yeah, I'm a pally, and this mask would be really cool, because it has a lot of stats that would help me be more effective in most to all situations =P
All focus effects include ALL spells that it applies to up to its maximum level. For example, Extended Range IV doesn't only work for 60-65 spells, it works for all spells from 1-65.
Extended Range II would be all spells from 1-44, etc.
He was not saying that the ER4 item would not work on a CH. I believe his point was if you had ER for your CH you would only need an ER2 item, which would be much easier to obtain.
Well, actualy, by the time you need an ER IV item, ch is not really the spell you are worrying about.. it is those quick heals, you know, the 1.8 second cast for 1500 and up? for like 425 mana? Yeah, those ones.
Well, actually for all heals. Different boss MOBs have different strats, but a lot have AE effects/rampage that the CH Rotation/quick-heal rotation guys will want to avoid. Plus - if you're a druid, *your* CH isn't 39 :). My guild often uses them in rotations, staggered in between the clerics.
#Ravanta,
Posted:Jun 22 2003 at 12:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Extended range focus does not work with cheal. Cheal has a 100 range, most other spells have a 200 range.
Extended Range is the ONLY focus that works with CH, which is why Ceramic Sword of War is a reasonably popular item for clerics. it's a relatively cheap and easy to obtain ER4 item.
Personally this would be nice for a cleric...sometimes people tend to get out of healing range and this would prevent that a little. But at the lvl you get this that probably never happens. BTW this is my first first post :D
Sometimes I wonder if I should heal the guy just a tad bit out of range who is so busy to click that Incoming hot key because he is running for dear life.
I say thumbs down to the tank who cannot make it back into range (200). If my Main Toughguy goes down that fast I want no part of the nastys that ate him :) Just hide, whistle and pray to your god.
Ok im kidding who wouldnt want an extra 20% range. I just wanted to give you something to think about :)
I accidentally run out of healing range if I'm pulling and Tanking sometimes. In tier 3 it's a bad idea to pull when you're at 70% or less if you're also tanking, hehe.
