I got this item for my Bard and it is still usable by Bards, even if the class is not mentioned. Great tool for Charm-pulling, which I finally mastered after some tries.

Stand in (charm)range of the mob that you want to pull out of a dense pack. Target mob, start casting the Charm spell and immediately (so while the cast timer of the Charm spell is still counting down its 3 seconds) hit fade: the counter for your CHarm spell will still run down its 3 seconds. Then when the Charm song lands, immediately fade again, BEFORE your pet gains aggro from any mob near him. Now you can simply walk away with your charmed mob trailing you. Or you can "/pet sit" him down, run to a safe location and then use the Ribbon of Empathy to summon your pet to you! Since your pet will run a lot slower then you (your Selo's will not hit your pet) the summoning method is good if you do not want to lose your pet halfway(pathing/stuck issues). If you only have a short distance to run to camp then you can do without summoning.

Once in camp, use an invisability spell (instaclicky if you can get your hands on one or else your invis song) and beat him down. This worked great for singling out the Quality Control bots in this quest: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4433

Usable by a bard on a charmed pet
# Aug 31 2007 at 10:08 AM Rating: Decent
75 bard here. I stumbled across Warlock Garug today while attempting to farm pages for my enchanter's research skill.

This item is bard-usable on charmed pets! I just click it from an inventory slot.

Well, I'm not sure what good it is for us, but it's a nice toy that may have some use.

I just got this item im a lvl 34 druid and all it say when I cast is you do not have a pet.. Whats the deal with that anyone know???
RE: ???
# Mar 25 2005 at 7:47 AM Rating: Decent
i assume you're very new to the game still hehe
Druids get a pet at level 55 i believe, little bear, other classes at different levels if they can get a pet spell, this spell is only used for summoning your already summoned pet TO you, not to summon a pet.
This is useful when your pet runs off or due to a pathing bug in zone is left behind somewhere, this spell will bring it to you like the spell Call of Hero does for players, this does for pets.
useable from inventory
# Jan 09 2005 at 11:22 PM Rating: Decent
this item is useable from inventory and is convient even thought the silverflank belt (useable by mages and necros only) has 2 sec casting time this belt has casting time of 4 seconds which is shorter than the actual spell which is 5sec, this is very usefull for my 46necro, saves a spell slot and is nice when pet is running around in zig zags while a mob is about to aggro on you, got it for 2k, on mith marr not sure if it was a good deal but dont really care

Anyone know if this will summon charmed pets as well? it would make this a killier piece for ENC and Druids if it could. You would be able to kit from anywhere in a zone.

Summon Companion does not work on Charmed pets, neither does suspend minion.

This item seems to be really nice for a poor 54 magacian that is slowly making money for gear. I really need this "clickety" items for the effect, but is there a better one.

Thanks for any help / replies you can offer.

Price for this is about 4k on Vazaelle.

BTW I agree with Teudayr. Just glad they have filtering system on this board 8)

This one is better but IMHO harder to get..

The summon companion is insta cast on it though :)

The Silverflank belt is no longer insta-cast. 2sec cast time now.

I personally think the Ribbon of Empathy is better. It's easier to get and has better stats.

About 350, 100. His placeholder is 'a diviner' in the middle of the room on the dais.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2003 at 3:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Boo Boo Bear is also used while grouping.. ya know not all druids solo all the time.

This is simply to call your pet to your side (like a point to point teleport, or the Mage Call of the Hero spell). This does not actually make a pet. And yes the Wizzy Familiar is considered a pet per say... i.e. you conjure him and your pet window says he's there, it's just that the command buttons are grayed out. Now although I think Alla's just added Cleric incorrectly as the picture doesn't say CLR... Clerics and wizards actually do both get pet's that will attack. However, you can't control them other then to send them to attack one single mob after which they poof, so you wouldn't have time to use this spell or any reason to for that matter. Though there is a way for them to stay alive... if you get hit by another mob while they are attacking the first and you keep your target on the 2nd mob that attacked you then when they are done with the first mob they will jump to the second. But that's hardly practical (and doesn't always work), and also these pet's only have 100hp so you can't use them without a meatshield on the mobs already. But Clerics get a Hammer that fly's at the mob and starts swinging, while Wizzy's get a big Sword that does the same. Basically it must be cast on each mob, so it really is more like a visible DoT then anything.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 20 2003 at 10:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Cleric doesn't get a pet. And I would think a wizzys familiar would be considered as a pet, dunno tho never played one.
RE: Cleric and Wiz pets
# Jun 20 2003 at 11:26 AM Rating: Good
Hate to tell you this - but clerics do get pets - they are Hammer pets summoned at 56+ (might be 55+ not sure of exact level).

And wizards do get a real pet - not the familiar - the Flaming Sword of Xuzl (spelling may be incorrect).

Just to clear up obvious mistakes of those who think these classes do not get pets.
RE: Cleric and Wiz pets
# Jun 20 2003 at 4:12 PM Rating: Default
54. Hammer of Unswerving Faith. Parses at a whopping 9-12 dps on valor/hoh mobs. Cleric pets also generate a ton of push on a mob so tanks hate them.

Wizard's do get the Flaming Sword of Xuzl at 59. What makes it somewhat special is that it's immune to magic. AE's generally don't hurt it. Somewhat useful on incredibly MR mobs.
Tradeable Items
# Jun 20 2003 at 1:26 AM Rating: Default
The best thing about the belt is that it is tradeable. Good wis/int + mana,(not to mention hp), items come with a sometimes lofty price. The effect just makes it even more desirable by those classes that would/could consistently use. (Freeing up slots is godly.)
I'm a 65 Cleric and until Tormax cons good to me, I'm stuck with my Girdle of the Blood fiend.
Anyways. Lacks resists but has presentable stats and can be traded. Last couple "exspansions" have yielded a plethora of decent (sub 55-60ish) tradeable items.
Add another decent belt to it.

Druids at lv 55 get a tiny bear pet that is like lv 15. Its a play pet, but they do get one.

I've never had Boo Boo Bear con that low. From asking lowbies to con him, the bear cons around level 29. It does hit consistently for 30 damage though and with that it is used mainly as:

1. A farming tool (eats green spiders easily)
2. An extra 500ish HP. The bear makes a good deterrent (meatshield) if you find yourself in a unexpected situation where a mob is beating you down. The bear's taunt is very potent and gives you enough time to cast Gate while 'Boo Boo takes one for the team.'
3. A conversation toy (ladies love the lil' bear)
4. Having fun with the newbies (in a twisted way). Get a hold of this item: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=8933 , go to GFay and tree-form up near one of the 3 lifts and park Boo Boo right near it. From there have Boo Boo 'talk' to the newbies that wander by. Tons of silly fun.

Boo Boo: "Hail newbie_#077...I am Gobantik, the special quest-giving little bear and today I'm looking for some rusty weapons. If you find me a rusty weapon I can grant a special Spirit of Wolf upon you."

/ahem
Sorry, I got side-tracked.
As for the belt, a clicky Summon Companion spell on a WIS/INT +Mana +HP (as well as good AC) item is not bad for the classes that rely on pets to level. However, since I'm usually in one area (camp) the pet doesn't wander off at all nor do I have alot of running around to do. So in essence the SC effect is like sprinkles on an ice cream cone: very nice but not necessary.

/cynical opinion on
*I personally believe SOE created Summon Companion spell to deal with the horrible and awful pathing in some zones where pets decide to go astray even while you are spamming 'follow'.

You: "Follow me."
Pet: "Following you, Master."
You: Wait...why are you zig-zagging up that hill away from me?
Pet: Sorry Master, I have to pee...

Hahahaha. Ha. :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 19 2003 at 8:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It cons level 39 and it hits for 30 max .... I use it as a Speed bump when I Overaggro a mob gives me about 0.75 seconds longer to gate.
