But to my mind the crucial phrase is 'They can match a horse, hoof step for hoof step'.
So in the spirit of nicking info from somewhere else (care of Zestee):
here are the speeds of the Horses and therefore Drogmor...
9K Rope Bridle = 25% Movement Rate Increase 30K Leather Bridle = 50% Movement Rate Increase 60K Silken Bridle = 60% Movement Rate Increase 100K Chain Bridle = 70% Movement Rate Increase
So, from reading his quote:
SMALL Drums = 25% Movement Rate Increase Drums (No size name) = 50% Movement Rate Increase LARGE Drums = 60% Movement Rate Increase GIANT Drums = 70% Movement Rate Increase
Hope this helps, took me a bit to find all of the info (wish Allak would post the speeds on the effect link or something ... or if not Allak, at least Lucy )
I question the accuracy of these percentages. I have run 3, which is a 30% increase in speed, and bought a red drum based on this info expecting an increse in my movement rate because the red drum is supposed to give a 50% increase according to the info above. I then raced from one side of the evil side of the POK to the other with and without my mount and the times were exactly the same. This would say that the movement rate for regular drums is 30% and not 50%.
Yeah a better way to measure would be to set a start point for your stopwatch, say the edge of the main bank in pok, which is where you'll start and finish the stopwatch. Then go back to the tree, or even the nexus archway, and get the horse into a full gallop... start timing at full speed, when you hit the start of the bank wall, and stop when you do a full lap of pok and end up there again. Then do the same with Run 3 or Jboots... you should find that Horse/Drogmor #2 is faster than both. (not including the fabled jboots.)
Before you jump on a Dino bandwagon here - if you are shrunk - horses head disappears completely from the screen. For my shammy - I shrink myself down - summon my horse - it was like I was standing up - no issues with targeting at all.
#REDACTED,
Posted:Jan 19 2004 at 2:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Just so everyone knows ...... DONT EVER BUY A HORSE!!! Buy a Drogmor instead. The horses big fat head partially blocks your view and is a targetting nightmare. Drogmor heads dont block your view and are every bit as fast as horses. HORSES REALLY, REALLY SUCK!!!
Upgrading your Drogmor works the same way as trading in a horse. You hand in the drum to one of the little gnome creatures and then they give you a "Bag of Platinum Peices", which is roughly worth 2/3 of what you paid for the Drog in the first place.
In my experience, CHA doesnt seem to effect the prices. I checked with a CHA of 60, added CHA gear and buffs to get to 165 and saw no difference. A guildie tested and had the same results. There also seemed to be no diffence between races, Vah Shir, Dark Elf and Troll all were tested.
I wonder if maybe faction has something to do with the price variation Runyariel already mentioned. Anyone know what faction these merchants are on?
Horses are another story... we did verify CHA did effect the prices.
In my experience, CHA doesnt seem to effect the prices.
The odd part is, the halfling druid that I mentioned previously got the two different prices less than two minutes apart, the only difference being the CHA buff I slapped on him.
Very odd, indeed, that you receive no result at all. If faction were the factor at work, my druid would have received the same price both times.

Now here's a question for you; I heard a rumor that the drums for the Drogmars will sometimes drop off of feral Drogmars in the caves between Gunthak and Dulak, any ideas on whether this is true or not?
