Dropped in Warrens
# Jul 16 2003 at 9:15 PM Rating: Decent
I got this and the leggins in the warrens off of the king and the high shaman. This was well after the patch that prevents npc from accepting things so I don't know if it was a fluke or if he drops them now too.
p.s. yes as a female erudite i do look like im wearing lingerie. Can anyone tell me were i can buy these in rl. lol.
Flayed Skin

Is it me, or does this look like purple lingerie on Erudite ladies?

Left to rot? Not really....

Don't you all start rushing into that place for twink items. The Drolvags may not see invis but the undead will (and vice versa for ITU).

No, flayed skins aren't left to rot. I have spent levels 45 to 49 in KC (and to 51 at least). Hunted the place from top (hands and WL) to basement. These things are cash PP items. They sell for 10 to 15 plats per peice to merchants. 50+ plats for individual peices (up to 200+ plats for the tunic) from what I hear on Quellious. About the only times I see these things rot is when everyone has one (lore) and thats pretty rare (no one wants to /ooc rotting items in KC, the place is training hell).
Nice stuff

Same ac as banded, and a bunch of stats to boot. May not be good for the level it takes to get, but nice twinking armor. Slap a set of this stuff on a low level necro, and you'll have ac near that of a melee class. Plus most pieces have int, and strength, although the tunic doesn't.

As far as this stuff being left to rot, what level would you have to be to get into KC to loot some of this off the corpses? Do the mobs there see through invis, invis to undead, and the various camo spells? Please respond.

Good for newbie necros who want to melee along with their pet... nice AC and stat bonuses, and the price is right too -- about 10-15pp per piece in Bazaar if you are patient.

Too bad only the cap, boots and bracer have INT boosts though. As you get older (and, hopefully, richer), you will want to replace tunic and other items with gear that have more relevance to a necromancer's needs.

For shadowknights, this is will last a while longer -- weight is especially good for the weakling Erudites. Still, with 30-40pp, you would be better off with Netherbian Chitin instead of this tunic.

Actually, AC is one better than banded. Also, a big plus for flayed skin is the weight. It's considerably lighter than banded. This makes it very good for Erudites, who will likely have encumbrance issues - especially necros, who aren't likely to waste any points on STR when creating their characters.

I would also expect that for necros, this may in fact be pretty good armor for levels able to hit Karnor's. AC 16 with save bonuses is nothing to sneeze at for the pure caster of even mid-levels, is it?

For the SK though, by 45 I'd expect they'd have something much better. 'Course, I stopped playing my SK in the low teens, so I defer to those who've actually played at those levels.

Well, to not be killed outright, I would guess you need to be around level 35. Things in here have a tendancy to aggro and hit hard.

Drolvarg Guards most places too, and undeads alot of places as well. So casting invis/invis to undead would only protect you against one of em...

That being said, if there is alot of ppl online in Karnors, monsters can truely be very far apart, and in those cases its sometimes very easy to get as far as the courtyards without meeting a single thing.

But since this stuff is not No Drop... like the Jarsarth Scale is, its probably alot easier to trade for than getting it self. Unless you are of a level high enough to group here.

Boy is this restrictive...
# Aug 01 2001 at 1:25 AM Rating: Decent
Well, after hunting in KC for a little while, I've found flayed skin to be dropping all over. The stuff isn't that bad actually but the race/class restrictions are horrid. You'd think they would include Dark Elves at the very least and perhaps Iksar as they are of the right size. Ah well, the stuff just rots generally. It is underpowered for the level you get it at and is not exactly overly saleable.

cheers,
