TLP - Agnarr Mana Robe

Many people doesn't seem to understand this robe on TLP , i am currently playing on agnarr and this item is by far THE BEST DPS item in game for any cloth user.

Not only it provide you 40 mana regen by clicking it versus the 24 mana regen you get while medding. People are talking about the damage that you take but raid or group buffed or even using fungus staff cover the majority of that damage so its negligable!

Moreover , many raid target in velious / luclin / PoP has a ton of HP so going out of mana on those fight is very common. Not to mention that when using a mount med + this clicky stack so raid like (Vex Thal - PoP , etc = cash!!).

I would definately buy another one if i had to do it again , best item ever!

You don’t seem to understand just how overrated this thing is.

For starters, if you have good gear, which you will by the time you have this, you Will barely notice living with or without it.

It’s all hype; and i laugh at the fools spending all their dkp on such a crutch as this. Unless they are planning to sell it; i don’t know why anyone would want this.

Sell it to the noobs who don’t know **** that is. Who cant manage their mana.

Oh yeah, if you want to spend hours clicking and clicking this thing, go for it and call me for an Rx for your carpal tunnel syndrome.

Someone linked this on the TLP today, what's the deal with that? How could it be in-game?
No longer dropped?

[EDIT: Doh! I was thinking of the MANASTONE. Sorry about that Railus.]

It was my understanding that this item no longer drops in game. The remaining mana robes are still tradable, but can only be used in old zones (ie. orginal EQ, pre-Kunark).

I may be wrong about this. Anyone have confirmation of actual drops in recent years or on which zones the click effect can be used in?

Also, the once-godly click effect is now pretty useless. Particularly with the newer Out-Of-Combat Regen.

The Mana Robe still drops. You may be thinking of the Manastone which was removed from the game a very long time ago.
mob hate
# May 25 2006 at 12:56 PM Rating: Decent
This robe doesnt cause any hate build up from a mobs does it? I am sure it doesnt but just want to make sure I would hate to be chain clicking it and have a mob run over and smack me hehe.
RE: mob hate
# May 26 2006 at 8:21 PM Rating: Decent
No hate other than low HP, but use the CT wand from time or your epic and you will regen mana extremely fast outdoors. Ya know, being able to sit on a horse and cast spells like clickies and whatnot.

VERY useful in Bloodfields.

Sitting VS Standing
# Oct 26 2005 at 2:43 AM Rating: Decent
I thought this would be helpful info for those thinking about buying the awesome mana robe. First off if you have a mount, the mana robe is unbelieveable. But what if your in a cave or somewhere where you can't be on a mount? Well then this info will be usefull...

I am a 66 mag and well i got naked (woot), no items but mana robe, aa ft3 and self buffed. When i stood up i was getting 14mana every six seconds. When i sat i got 33mana. So there was a 19 mana point difference. Mana robe will give you 40 mana points every six seconds and you will lose hp but who cares. Thats 54 mana points instead of 33 (ft 21 for the uneducated) 8-). Ummm, ft 21 is awesome. Correct me if i am wrong but i think thats like 64% better than sitting. So then i equiped everything again and there was still the 19mana point difference.

I agree that the mana robe is exspensive but there is nothing else like it.

I hope that you can use this information useful.

i am out

Robe Still Rocks

FT40 just raw clicking, with the new regen spells from shm/dru its almost unnoticeable.

FT30 if you take the time to click Wizard epic (implicit assumption that you are... a Wizard).

FT36'ish if you are a necro/wiz with Wand of Impenetrable Force.

For those that are saying this is not worth it, the math involved would like to have a word with you.

While yes this is an active ability unlike worn FT, when combined with a mount this is still DOUBLE the worn FT cap, 5 years after the item was introduced.
Robe Still Rocks
# Mar 21 2021 at 1:18 AM Rating: Decent
old post but due to TLP still relevant I guess...

FT keeps "ticking" even while casting, it doesn't count as medding... so FT15 + this FT40 + druid buffs lich/clarity and what not, DOES matter and does NOT make it bad/not worth it.

My math.
# Feb 19 2005 at 8:14 AM Rating: Decent
I play a 59 (as of today :) cleric and I always heal people like necros and shammies that canni themselves just out of reflex. Well lets do the math and it'll make more sense:

Ok say a 60~ pure caster with decent gear and about 4k HP fully buffed and 4K mana with VoQ with max FT and regen and standing up (dont know the mana regen mod for medding):

every tick: (-120+15 HP = 3895)/(18+40+15 = 73)

Well at that rate they will be getting a good ratio on what they gain and loose this would mean it would be every 34 ticks or 204 seconds or 3 minutes and 24 seconds between CH's which take 10 sec to cast cost 400 mana to cast which is back very fast when medding.

if they were completely OOM is would only take them: 5 minutes and 24 seconds to completely be full as opposed to 12 minutes 6 seconds. I'd say it's well worth it even if just for down time. But It's prolly be easier to get a group of ubers and go kill him yourself for it now adays then save p that much plat. hope this info was usefull

It's all about the clicky heals.

My Cleric has Plane of Growth pants and clicks them between pulls. So that's 500+ hp heal for each person in the group between pulls.

This makes Shamans, Necros and Manarobe wearing casters very happy ;)

When sitting on a horse it gives free mana regen to all these classes with no penalty. (You're not nuking between pulls anyway)

Side note on effectiveness of Manaregen items.

If pulls are constant, then you should be running low on mana at some point, and this would help you get mana back faster.

In fact, the real math of efficient Exp-ing isn't how BIG your mana pool is, it's how fast you can regenerate it.

Over the course of a 3 hour exp session a person with a 7k mana pool will burn it up in X amount of time. A person with a 4k mana pool will burn it up almost twice as fast, but they will BOTH burn through 7,000 mana very early on. (Bolt of Jerikor costs 645 mana to cast, so 10 casts virtually wipes that alone.

The most important factor is how fast you can keep the mana coming so you can cast more.

It's worth whatever you have to pay to get it, because at some point, it will pay for itself.

With the bandolier now, you can click a single button to swap between the Manarobe and your regular robe between pulls.

The Bandolier is for weapons, not armor.

Edit: And yes, the Bandolier was in-game at the time of this post, the original poster just didn't bother to post the correct information.

The first half of this post is somewhat informative... the second half is trash.

In a good group there will be no downtime... ever. I play a necro as my main, everytime hes grouped from 49 and on, he wouldn't lose any mana per pull. At 70 he consistantly does around 2k damage a tick, snares, and MWs each mob... and still gains mana.

No good group I have been in has ever needed med time.
Mana robe RULES!
# Feb 03 2005 at 7:31 AM Rating: Decent
Ok.. I dont understand why people like to dis the mana robe. Even if it had NEGATIVE stats it would argueably be the best robe in the game. People go gaga over a FT3 item.. but then look at mana robe.. FT40 when used (3 second cast 60hp for 20mana with zero recast = FT40). And to boot most higher chars have FT maxed anyway. Plus with regen the way it is losing 60 hp wont even make you bat an eyelash. Plus chanters can eat the life out of their DS hehe.

Think about it.. how many times is 100-200 hp going to save your *** on a mob that hits for 1000+ I would much rather have the extra mana so I can mez it ;)
Ode to Mana Robe.

Bought this robe recently for 50K and its worth the plat imo. Trak is an easier farm since OoW release with new level and gear introduction so keep an eye out for lower prices on this item although that wont influence drop rate might increase frequency it shows up in bazaar.

Have to say this robe is impressive as far as I can tell there are no zone limits (ie old world zones only) as I've used it both in Natimbi and PoTranq and will go to Dranik's (sp) sometime soon to test it for OoW use.

Im by no means equipped in the best gear nor do I have any aa's or tons of FT items. However with 3.7K mana pool sitting on a drog (med 250), buffed with PoT9, KEI, FT1 (earring of the solstice) and replenishment (druid hp regen buff) it only took three to five minutes to go from oom to fm while right clicking on this robe, very nice imo =D.

Since the level for effect is 50 anyway its easy to find a friendly druid, enchanter, shaman etc... to give you the above mentioned buffs and you can buy the earring of soltice kit for almost nothing nowadays. Although drogs wont help in ldons (well unless you take a quick mana smoke break outside the ldon) their still a good investment in open air zones and you can make 10K in couple of months of casual farming to get one (hint: hit ldons until you get your mount since they cant be used in them anyway).

I can only imagine how nice this will be with ldon m-regen augs, OoW m-regen augs/gear, m-regen aa's, older expansion m-regen items (much cheaper since Oow), ornate m-regen, tribute m-regen, mage stick, necro twitch, higher level enchanter buffs etc...all I can say is its good to be one of the allowed classes too bad a cleric isnt one of them.

Anyway I still think this is a good investment especially for a mage or wizard who along with clerics seem to take forever to regen mana and just remember the best part...its droppable so it can be traded on whichever of the four caster classes your playing on your account.
Ohh nos, 60 damage!

As a level 61 druid, I can put 70 points of regen on a person per tick. That takes out half of the damage dealt by this robe, making it alot easier for other people to med and the group to kill stuff. 70 points per 6 seconds, if you spammed the robe, assuming it had no recast, you'd lose 50 points ever 6 seconds. Alot better conversion ratio and regens are barely any mana worth worrying about in exchange for extra wizzie dps or enchanter cc.

It's mentioned that this is a bright canary yellow and a quick trip to MS Paint verified that using the RGB value.

Not a bad effect at all but those that think this is the end-all of mana regen need some help. If you ever have to use something like this to regen mana its time to start thinking about some better gear or maybe another class. Its just me but the hp/mana conversion plus the stats this thing doesn't have.....hmm only 80-300k let me just jump on that.

Dropped Yesterday On Kane Bayle. He was a punk even though i (56mnk) just tagged along with a group of time geared gear peeps. He had 30k HPs and he went down in about 10 sec (the bard one). He did about 900dmg (roflmao). Easy... I bet he could easily be duoed.

RE: Second That
# May 21 2004 at 10:09 AM Rating: Default
Try it on a mount genius. And unless you have FT 40, you don't regen 20 mana in 3 seconds. 6 seconds is one tick and you'd need VoQ + 22 more mana regen to achieve that.

Then again, why are you even posting? You are a druid are you not? Bozos....

Well the flowing thought will be applied both sitting and standing so that has little importiance in discussing the usefullness of mana robe. You were right, however, that this is very effective while sitting on a horse or drogmor. You will get an effective 40 mana, -120 hp regen per tick ON TOP of your buffs and worn mana regen (FT.)

For those that care:
Chain clicking a mana robe, mod rod (presummoned), voq, spiritual purity, mount with 252 meditate skill, mental clarity 3 (AA), XPG or pot9, 15 worn mana regen (FT), chorus of marr, elemental siphon, Maelin's Methodical Mind and Shield of Aura's, on a level 65 (4 mana regen per tick innate) will yield the maximum mana regeneration of 161.2 mana per tick for a magician. (sorry didn't take the time to gather info for other classes)
RE: Second That
# May 30 2004 at 1:46 AM Rating: Decent
You're obviously assuming a meditation skill of 0? Come on, everyone regens something when sitting or mounted, except bards. Actually I'm pretty sure the amount of mana regenned meditating with full (pure caster) meditation is something like 18 per tick unbuffed. So I'll agree with you, mana robe is more efficient, whether you sit or ride for your mana regen, although obviously more effective if you're riding so you also gain the benefit of meditation.
RE: Second That
# Aug 03 2004 at 4:36 AM Rating: Decent
Just a minor note: Bards who are level 10 and above gain an extra point of mana while sitting.

Oddly enough, spells/songs that increase mana regen don't work for bards. That includes instant and duration spells.
Not Worth it
# May 13 2004 at 4:45 AM Rating: Decent
Not worth it! , I just seen 2 of these for sale on Luclin and cheapest was 250k, what a crock! If you do the math, this gives a 3 to 1 ratio for HP verses Mana, that's 100 mana per 300 hp, one low lvl nuke and that's gone and your now 300hp lower, mana conversion on mod rod is a much better ratio, and they're free, but cost of mana, and have a recast penelty time, lets face it , most caster don't have a lot HP to be Cannibilizing, this spell effect is equal to the Shammys Canni 1 spell, If I were going to spend that kind plat, I'd buy a pair of Boots of Flowing Slime +3 Mana regen, and a couple other regen items like EoS, etc. Whats with people that see a spell effect like this and thinks it's worth that kinda plat, and who has that much plat to waste on such a lame return ratio , not me. There is also the Manastone with same spell , but is a Instant cast, and can only be used old world, and cheapest one on Luclin is 350k! All I got to say is , if we buy these items at this inflated costs they're never going to come down into perspectively resonable prices, but if you got the plat to waste, go for it. Although I do appreciate what effort it takes to obtain these Items, they're not worth over a quarter of a million plat. not in my opinion, Ill struggle along with my FT Items and bare it

Jane! Stop this crazy thing!
