Not sure why this robe has Fright and Terror as two sources. I've farmed Fear for 10 years and it has only ever dropped off a dracoliche. Never heard of anyone else getting it off them either.

this robe has the same graphic as the Silken Augmenter's Robe. I have the Silken Augmenter's Robe on my enchanter main and picked up the CT robe from the bazaar and threw it on my twinkie mage.

I have them both dyed with the blue in the lower left hand corner, and they look exactly the same.
lucky me

I was fortunate enough to just wonder upon the bazaar and spot it for 8k. Didn't know how much it was worth and had second thoughts til i checked here and saw how much it was worth hehe. Nice improvement and no lvl requirement a perfect boost for a newbie (who's rich).

Crimson Robe of Alendine

I just received this robe in a very lop sided trade in my favor, for some quest items that I had. The robe is so special looking that you either love it or hate it. I absolutely love the look of it. Additionally, I feel that the stats are great. In almost every item that I see posts for, folks wish that it had more of this or more of that. Well, this robe does not have resists, however has great Int and good HP and Mana. Resists will need to come from other slots. Like anything else, it is a matter of what a person wants. With this robe on my Int is 228, raw mana 478, my resists are all over 100,I have five important focus items and my HP is quite good for my level. As I learn more about Norrath from more experienced adventures than me, it is not the stats of anyone item that is important, it is the total package that you put together for yourself. So are resists important yes, do you need them on a robe. No. not if you are carrying them elsewhere. Everyones' opinions are very valid. The bottom line is that I love the look of the robe, you seldom see it around, and it compliments my other slots statwise. I will never part from this robe and am very very happy to have it.
Safe journeys and good looting,

This robe has the same look as the gown of wavering minds that dropped in the GM Rathe Mnts at Halloween 2001.

My enchanter has looked like this for so long that I can bring myself to pay 14k for this robe and look the same for another 10 or 20 levels. UGGG!

Nice robe though, maybe I will suck it up if the price comes down a couple of K, not that 14-15k aint a good price.
Why Buy?
# Sep 11 2002 at 6:57 PM Rating: Good
For the low-level players that are searching this site and drooling over this item, don't worry about saving your pp to buy this robe. By the time you reach your fifties and you're in a decent guild, you'll get several opportunities to get this robe, or some that kick this robe's butt.

If you're in Fear, and this robe drops, you'll probably want to roll for it. However, if you've got a PoG raid upcoming, you might want to pass, because better robes drop there.

If you won this robe on the Fear raid, your guild leaders might not let you roll on a PoG robe, which only has one less INT, nearly twice the mana and hp's, +5 to all resists, and a mana-free right clickable spell. You tell me which you'd rather have?

Sure, this is an upgrade to your Froggy, Netted Kelp, or Jumpy robe, but there are better ones out there that whomp on this robe, and are just as easy (if you consider Plane's mobs easy) to get.

Work on your levels, and save your PP. Don't worry about having to buy it. Eventually, you'll get this or a better robe. Save your PP for Sunstrike or KEI, which is going to cost you 20-30k, unless your guild decides to take down the mobs that drop the scrolls.

Personally i think this is one of the best droppable robes you can get for not very much money..its not very pricy nowadays maybe 15k not too bad but for stats its really nice...this comeing from a Sorcerer with 251 int with resist gear and what not i have all resists over 100 cept poison...and my int is still at a respectable 220. before this robe my int dropped to somewhere around 205 which kinda isnt that great but some people like resists more yes this robe oculd you some resists but with the 15 dex 15 int 50 hp 50 mana stats it doesnt really need em i havnt seen a robe this nice for this cheap ever....its a great robe looks great imo and a good buy for you 50+ casters or even you lil twinkers lol

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 27 2002 at 12:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is nice the way it is. I don't care about resists when I'm quad kiting, I care about mana and maybe a little bit of hp is nice incase I get a nasty assed stun. I would rather get a skyshrine robe though. This being tradeable really isn't all that great of an advantage when I can always MQ.
INT Cap...
# May 13 2002 at 11:58 PM Rating: Good
You seem to forget, the softcap on intelligence was lightened with the release of Luclin...instead of providing only 1 mana per point of intelligence (or wisdom, for that matter) over 200, you get 7 (in addition to the +10 int for each point under 200). So, higher int is a good thing now...thanks to a timely guide in Skyshrine, I'm at 255 int unbuffed, and seem to have a great deal of mana...
RE: INT Cap...
# Jul 02 2003 at 4:03 PM Rating: Default
Ok now is the cap the same for Wisdom based casters? 10 per point to 200, and 7 per point after 200? 330 wisdom currently and wondering if the added wisdom would make that much of a difference in my mana pool. ( 65 Cleric )

Anyone who KNOWS what the wisdom point to mana breakdown please post? Thanks! - Whasats
Resists
# Apr 08 2002 at 10:24 PM Rating: Decent
Don't get me wrong. If I won the /random 500 for this, I would gladly take it. however it has 0 resists, and to me, resists are far more important than an already more than sufficient mana pool.

Its a nice caster robe, yes, but it could use some resists for coming from fear; I'll just take 3-4 chances with an SmR and get myself a shiny robe of the underfoot. Thanks.

This is worth 40k easy... i mean 15int and 50mana/hp plus 12 ac... easily one of the best caster robes around

Don't think the robe is worth anywhere near that much, and I'll tell ya why.

First off, this has no resists, which at the level you can pick it up is quite a downer. Secondly, 15 int isn't THAT big a deal. I mean don't get me wrong, not gonna turn an extra 5 int down, but by the time you hit your 40s and 50s you should be WELL over the int cap as a caster.

50 mana is nice, but there are a ton of robes that also have that, and are about 30 to 34k cheaper.

50 hp... well... Hitpoints are always nice, but not really worth the asking price on this.

The ac on this is nothing to write home about. Pretty much all of the higher level robes have either 12 or more ac on them.

Plus personally, not fond of the look as it looks identacal to a ton of lower level caster robes.

Now let's look at a couple alternatives.

Tolapumj's Robe or as I like to call it, the big green monster. Commonly refered to as the Jumpy or Jumpalot robe.

14 ac 5 str 5 wis 10 int 50 mana.
effect: 36% haste

This bad boy runs about 7-10k on povar about 30k less, and the only stats the anny robe has over it are 50 hp 5 more mana and the 15 dex. Dex is neat for casters, but not worth 30k imho.

The Froglok Bonecaster Robe. Commonly refered to as the froggy robe.

10 ac 8 str 8 int 10svm 10svf 40 mana

Nice Jet Black look, particularly if you haven't set your gamma correction. heh.

Now, the stand out effect on this is the saves. 10 save vs magic and fire are nothing to sneeze at. 2 int and 10 mana less than the jumpy, without the haste effect, but makes it almost as good with the saves. Sometimes perfered over it for this reason.

Cost on povar, about 4-6k.

And finally, the Netted Kelp Tunic

13 ac 5 str 10 sta 10 int -10 cha 20svf

In my opinon this is easily the most undervalued caster item in the game.

Pre luclin this thing looked amazing, like a clerical BP or something and was my choice of robes. After luclin it looks more like... well... Kelp I guess, but it's still a pretty nifty robe. Went with the jumpy over it tho.

Now the -10 cha does tend to glare at you a bit, but the only class that should have any use for it is chanters, and even then with the money they saved buying this, they could pick up 10 cha in other slots pretty darn easy. Perfect for necros, if you buy into that whole thing about -cha effecting fear.

Now, there are 3 advantages to this one. First, it still looks pretty darn cool. Even after luclin. For those casters who are sick of dresses.

Second, the 20 svf is quite the boost, particularly since about half of the DDs mobs do come from that line.

And third, it's CHEAP. Common price on this is 3k, but picked one up for the missus for 1k a few nights ago. Now granted it was from a bored lvl 60, but it still applies.

So to sum up, All the anny robe has over these others is about 5 extra int. That's really the only distinguishing stat. HP and Dex too, but those really are just icing.

While 15 int looks real cool to a lvl 12 necro, which I see is your only caster alt, it really doesn't matter that much in the high level game, when you can get 10 int stuff for about 1/8th of the price.

I think, regardless of the drop rate on this, that it is DRASTICALLY overpriced. Personally would MAYBE pay 10 - 12k for it, but probably not.

I hope this has proved enlightening, and I'm sorry about the length. heh.

I mostly agree with what u write in your post. However, i rhink u r a bit mean to the robe :). Ok...it has no resists..that is bad. But the int is cool! 15 int is good. U r right that most 50ish casters have over 200 int, but still. It is nice to me able to gather as much int on one item as possible. Im currently wearing 2 golden chittin brachers (Yes i know..i have to get me some new wrist items) with 5 int on each. Now..when i got to a raid, or whatever that requires resists, i change my int brachers (and other stuff) for Velium BD brachers. Thus loosing 10 int. My int iw 233 atm, but still..with all my resist gear on i only have 201 int. That was BEFORE i got this robe (had a Loam encrusted Robe). Now i have 211 int with resit gear on and that is good! then i can change even more slots into resist gear. U c? But still..the robe is woth 15k ish...MAX 20k. Looks GROSE!

Yes, I do see your point. And an extra 5 int can be nice on a chest slot, my point is that unless you have money to burn and know that you're looking for max int in all your slots and are willing to sacrifice other stats for it, then there are alternatives. But thank you for the constructive criticism =)
