Posted: Jan 06 2002 at 6:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The only way I could see a caster looting this robe, is if the Paladins in group died in fight, and couldnt get a CR in time to loot the corpse. Im supprized to see people wearing it around. Some people say it looks good, I have to ask who did you see wearing this, how did they get it, and why would they have it in the first place? Get real people the stats on this robe aren't going to help any casters that are present durring the battle, because they are all wearling better ones.

Well, supposing many paladins go crazy (I'm only a few steps away) trying to get the two books off of Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen (both dragons if you didn't know) and then killing Miragul; a bare minumum (if you are very lucky) of three raids, all with 30 or more Lvl 45+ people, are needed for this robe so it is not worth the trouble for anyone other than a paladin. This robe is, after all, the bottleneck of the paladin's epic quest. There are other robes out there much easier to get to with much better stats.
Be aware that by today's standards, Miragul is a wimp. One group of moderately-equipped people, levels 55-60, can easily take him. He casts a 1500 point DD or lifetap spell, but you can both interrupt and resist that. Other than that one spell, he's weaker than a typical PoP Tier 1 mob, though he seemed to have more HP.
We took him with 7-8 people, ranging from 52 to 63. I was main tank -- level 59, nicely equipped. We had a 60-something cleric for healing, with a druid as emergency healer in case of disaster. We also had a mid-50's enchanter to charm the lich, slow Miragul, and haste the melees. The rest were dps classes -- a wizard, ranger, etc. The fight lasted less than two minutes, and I was never in any real danger of dying.
Having said that, it would be rather inconsiderate of you to kill Miragul just for his robe. In this day and age, you can get better robes far more easily. Leave the robes to the poor pally who's been waiting week after week for a chance to kill Miragul for his epic.

Yes, Miragul is very easy to kill by today's standards.

Someone OBVIOUSLY has a twisted sense of humor. Making a robe like this a part of the FA quest! Such a waste! This is a very good item... making my crystalline robes look like crap (of course that's saying a lot since I've had CR since level 20). Ugg... why does Verant have to be cruel.... and this is a triggered spawn too?!?!
Um, Can't this robe be multiquested for the FA? I mean, It'd get more use from a caster, at least until the paladin needs it to be turned in...
Yes, but the caster would need to have Allied Faction with the Deepwater Knights... frankly when you can buy a better robe for 50pp... why even bother trying to get use of this.
By the way, once the Paladin has this, its very likely that he/she is ready to go to Air, so the use out of this robe would be however long it took to get people up to air.

That post was three years old when you replied, dear. Back then the fargin' Green Silken Drape was good, so obviously this robe would look good to someone in '01.

Indeed a shame making such item a PIECE of the FA Pally quest..
How can I tell when after I do 2/3rd the quest just to get Moragul to spawn, one of the frigging other groups that SHOULD be helping me won't just go & ninja loot it before I do...

it actually looks farely nice if it wasnt so rare i would try for it just for looks you can see what it looks like in the Equipment section under Fashion tables
