I bought one of these in the baz the other day for 250 plat. Its not worth much anymore because of all the new robes out there. Figured I would pick it up so my chanter would look cool as well as have a chanter only robe. With all the player made robes out there that have cha bonuses on them, this robe doesn't see any more use. I only wear it when just walking around or giving out clarity. When I am actually hunting in a group, this gets stashed in the pack and out comes the Robe of Intellect (one of the best robes you can buy for a chanter in my opionion). This robe is worth it for the looks or if you cha is maxed out and aren't worried about that stat anymore.
Is this robe worth 500pp. I got one for that much in the Bazaar on Xev and never seen one before. I'm just wondering if this is truly a rare item or not.

Then I sold the Incadescent Mask (a quest) for 1,000 plat. The trader wanted 2,000 for the robe, but accepted the 1,500 plat plus an Inlaid Jade Hoop,which I paid 200 plat for. One robe...220 plat.

Lemmie get this straight,he uses the Parrying Dagger (If he has it) and its Ranger Only,but the mobs a Necro,He also Drops a Robe,which is only usable by Enchanters.......but hes a Necro,this is kind of lame...It wouldnt bother me if he at least dropped ONE Necro usable item,since he is one,but alas,NOTTA.....just seems like a bad call on Verant,maybe it's just a dumb opinion,but it just doesnt seem ton make since for him not to drop ANY Necro usable gear,but hes a necro and can hold an Enchanter Only Robe and Use a Ranger only Weapon,*thumbs up*

Its all over the game man. I killed Tolapumj in Seb not too long ago and got a monk only 2hb staff. Peacebringer if you want to look it up. Jumpy is a chanter froglok, and he's using a monk weapon not equippable by frogloks. lol Anyway, its all over the game is my point. Not a big deal. Oh, and since LoY crafted robes came out, this robe is crap unless you can get it for around 100 pp. I saw a robe with 8 int, 8 charisma, and some mana and hp's going for 100 plat the other day. Just my 2cp's, check out the bazaar or make your own.
(growling) it does not make this robe 'crap' it just means better it out there. This is way nice. I got mine for free as a gift. When it rains it pours. I had a crystal covered then only a bit later someone let me loot the robe of discord.... then someone handed me this. Also had the necro also usable one... the Thergamist or whatever... I have like 6 robes in my bank. I was just gonna say maybe the guy is a fasion risk, your really doing him a favor killing him and looting it?

Maybe he's sociable and had a chanter and ranger friend drop by to hang out. Possibly the ranger left in a hurry cause The Crypt Keeper and the chanter were getting friendly, while accidently leaving the weapon behind. Drusella Sathir finds out about the chanter and get jelous. She being a complete beatch the chanter feels she has got to leave quickly leaving her clothes behind. There ya go, explanation, happy now?

There is no charisma bonus on this robe. If it had, it would be even more godlier than it is now for enchanters. Only the planes robe, the Velius quest robes or the benevolence robe (skyshrine quest) is better without going "uber-guild". Easily obtainable with some determination to camp the North wing named room (not a common drop for a somewhat rare spawn).

you are obviously not a chanter noob. this item rocks, with the superior int to most robes, the uniqueness from the other robes of comparable stats, and the fact that only a chanter can use it, i will be wearing mine until i get so bored with game i decide to do the planes until i get my planes robe there
Err.... Feel the love? Right, well anyway, I'm aware I'm four years late nearly and that also means the value of this robe is probably a lot different than it once was but there is one thing that does remain constant that I feel the need to let others know who may be new.
I'd say this robe is only good until about maybe level 30 if that these days. For any class, really, if they could use it. You're better off getting something with dexterity or some such thing rather than resist gear; if an Enchanter, Wizard, Necro or whatever gets hit with a spell chances are their group was Doomed anyway. My main's a level 65 enchanter, it's just a Fact we're gonna get initial aggro on certain pulls. Having gotten a lot of caster mob aggro I can say the very most I've had cast on me from temporarily taking aggro is Wrath or maybe Root or Spectral Shackles. Nothing that would've affected the Group much anyway except maybe me requiring a quick heal once in a blue moon. Finding caster mobs is just too hard for this to be better than dex anyway.
If you solo I'm sure this is a different story as you'll be a lot more likely to be hit with spells but these days finding a chanty soloing pre-61 is nearly impossible.... =)
