Legacy of YkeshaI think most people say the quests are junk because to get a item that is great for a newbie but is worthless at lev 45 is because you have to be 45 and waste time doing a quest that is worthless for you other than doing it. I think that if a quest requires lev 45 then the item should reflect that. Now adays lots of items available in bazaar so eq needs to change quests to match lev needed. Instead of letting people twink from bazaar but keeping high lev quests giving low lev rewards.
They just need to make these old quest items part of a new task that give a result worth getting in the current game.
It would be the easiest way to revitialize the importance of old content without actually changing anything.
Of course they would do something like make looting 5 recondite bandit rings give you a +15 to all stats item. Creating havoc in peaceful paludal caverns as it is overrun by level 70s on the quest prowl.
If they do it, it would be nice to see lore and factions of quests continued. This item is dark elf faction so it should either switch sides for a reason or deepen to neriak connections.
It would be the easiest way to revitialize the importance of old content without actually changing anything.

I agree, 90% of quests on EQ are useless. A lvl 5 newb can farm spider silks for 4 hours, sell them 5pp each and then get an ENTIRE suit of gear from the bazaar thats 20 times better than any quest gear they can get up to lvl 45+.

just turn your junk items into the tribute NPC that what i did it may give u alot of tribute points
The reason people complain about junk is because if you do a quest that requires a level 45 charactor or above to do you want better then this. Nobody level 45 or up is going to use this.
However this quest is quite easy to do. Its the type of quest that when your hanging in dulak and find it you just loot it and turn it in for the heck of it. I imagine it will also give you some faction, and this IS a droppable item making it a decent quest.
If I ever see the trunk drop I will go ahead and do the quest and trade it off to a newbie. I imagine this would give some OT faction, and OT faction isn't easy to come by.

why do people all ways complain stuff is junk that they get from a quest........get it and give it to a lower level character........i'm sure if you just handed it to some level 25 he would be happy with it..........durlok the barbarian

I was clearing the Stormwave tonight with myself (55 SK) a 41 Cleric, and a 49 SK looking for the Cleric's Temperence quest drop. The trunk dropped, and I ended up with it. True, the item isn't as good as a lot of others out there. But, it does have that 10 vs magic on it, so it will do the job in a pinch if nothing else is available.
This is the kind of quest that you don't really go out and say "Hey! I'm going to do that quest!" This is the kind of quest that you do only if the opportunity presents itself.
In any case, the Cleric got her drop, dinged 42, and the other SK dinged 50, and I left with 3 blues AA. So, all-in-all, wasn't a bad 2 hours.

I was going around, doing LoY quests today since I got great xp for my loy spell quests and my normal group wasn't on today. I happened to remember having the trunk in my inventory and went to turn it in. I was extremely dissapointed in the reward: 3% aa and this piece of junk necklace that prolly won't even be worth trying to give away in the bazaar.

Come on SOE this is bad here you have an item that gives no stat bonuses that is quest based that there is no way to do the quest before 30th lvl at which time you could do better area's for better drops.
