Phack,
Its a nice weapon, looks pretty like the graphic shown on stats window, a long spear with sharpened rock attached with a cord, the wood is sharpened to the bottom too. Very nice weapon made my beastlord happy : ) the weight can be annoying but no big deal, with 160 sta at level 37 I need to catch my breath after 2 mins of fight.

Blackreaver,
Omg I can't let you talk without answering, I dont know what you misread or didnt understand about Iksar history, but as an Iksar myself and lover of the Iksar lore I have to correct..

So Ill try to be quick,
Shissars were ruling Kunark during the elder age, many centuries ago, when Kunark was wtill undiscovered and left by itself.
Cazic Thule created the Iksars after the trolls, a more intelligent race than the the trolls, and he placed them on Kunark.
The Iksars been enslaved by the shissars, the Shissars are the creators of what's now called the necromancy, they used the lizardmen to experience dark rites, and is known as "the red scar" in the Iksar history (red as blood)
Iksars were beating on, an extremely big pain.
The shissars been so powerful they didnt feel like showing respect to their gods and creators, and their race been destroyed by them.
Left by themselves, 5 main tribes of Iksars been created (Obulus, Kylong, Kunzar, etc..)
The leader of the Kunzar clan was a young and powerful warrior.. Venril Sathir, a very intelligent one.
He decided to set up the main town of the Kunzar in the lost city of the shissars itself, Charasis (Yes, the Howling stones dungeon) and he started to study in the shissar library alone, to learn the necromancy.
He became the first Shadow knight, a strong warrior with notions of necromancy, so.
He built a strong undead army, and conquered the 4 other Iksar clans.
From them Sebilis is born, and not old Cabilis.. Its Cabilis that is called new Sebilis now..
Now why he is hated by Iksars and his faction is the one of the Overthere outpost..
Venril Sathir was the emperor of the strongest empire in the whole history of Norrath, but at the end, he didnt want to die, so in secret, he signed a pact with Innoruuk, to become immortal, but Venril's son, wanted to be emperor at his turn, and his father was just about to go insane anyway, so he stopped the ritual and locked his father's soul in the Kunzar clan amulet.
Venril Sathir is a disciple of Innoruuk now, that's why his faction is the one of the outpost.

Since its interesting I am gonna keep going, to clarify the point about Sarnaks and Frogloks you talk about, a mess for you apparently : )

Rile been taking the forest and mountain giants, as the frogloks, under the Sebilis domination, and expanded the Sebilis empire to almost the whole Island of Kunark, except for some parts with the Dragons of Veeshan and some of the strongest giants. He also built the Iksar navy, to prevent the future invasion of Antonica. Rile was someone you may call a monk nowaday, and his legions was very powerful.
Rile decided to leave the dragons alone, and he never attacked them. But the ring of Scale, alerted by the Sebilis empire's growing power, scheduled a meeting to decide about the Iksar's "problem"
During the Ring of Scale meeting, one of the dragons, Trakanon, was for a direct action against Iksars, but the council decided to wait since Iksars wasn't a menace for the dragon kind.
But Trakanon, with some of the youngest dragons, started a war against Iksars, alone.
He attacked the Iksar navy and killed the Emperor Rile himself.

But Rile had a son, Atrebe, a young and very scary lizard, there was no doubt for the old ones who knew Venril, Atrebe was just like his grandfather.
Very secret and calm, Atrebe began to study the dark rites like Venril, and he installed a strange laboratory in the old crypt of Dalnir.
He started strange experiences and from there is born two new races, made to serve the Iksars, the Sarnaks (result of an Iksar and a dragon) a very intelligent humanoid race, with the strenghs of both races, and the Sokokars (result of a froglok and a dragon) a very massive and docile flying creatures.
Atrebe used the Sarnaks as servants, and the Sokokars as mounts for his legions.
The "Atrebe's flying legions" been tracking and killing the dragons on Kunark. When Atrebe died, the war was almost over, the dragons was all almost dead.
The next emperor was Ganak (yes the Iksar ghost that give you the Sebilis and Veeshan's peak keys in Trakanon's teeth)
Ganak was not addicted to magic or necromancy, he was just a warrior, but a proud and powerful one.
The conflict between Iksars and dragons ended in the sky of the field of bones, Ganak riding his Sokokar, fighting the emissary of the ring of Scale, Jaled Dar (yes, the one who give you the Sleeper's tomb key, and the big dragon skeleton in the middle of the field of bones is the one of Jaled Dar) The fight lasted for days, and they both died in the combat, consumed by fire magic, leaving an enormous pit in the middle of the field of bones)
But while Iksars were fighting the dragons, Trakanon took the opportunity and headed to Sebilis, he recruited mercenaries and asked the help of the gobblin lords of faydwer, as the giants left alive, and he killed the wifes and childrens of the Iksars and soldiers while they was away.
Without emperor and with the Venril Sathir's brood cut, Iksars been divised in something that looked like the 5 Iksar tribes.
Its the end of the Sebilisian empire, divised, the Iksars were not powerful enough and the other races started to fight each other for the Island.

On another note, just found a new loot in Veksar, and surprised I wear them as a 65 shaman : )

Fascinating... it's good to see that some people actually take a much more in-depth approach to this game, rather than just sit there and play this game, and have no reason why a certain faction is the way it is.

I know, for one, when I was hunting in The Overthere, I was curious why the hell Cabilis faction was increasing and Sarnak was decreasing. I haven't found an explanation yet *chuckles*, and from what it seems like, your history lesson made it seem like the Sarnak's were sided the Iksars. Must have something to do with those dumb-*** dragons...

Anyways, thanks again :-). Personally, Kunark is my favorite expansion - it's such a shame you hardly find people going to Veksar, Droga, Nurga, Kaesora, CoDalnir's, etc etc etc... only dungeon explored in Kunark is Karnor's Castle. I went to Droga - turns out 2 group's of 60+'s had to camp a spawn that could have been taken out by a 64 PAL 63 RNG 62 ROG 60 ENC 59 NEC and a 56 CLR could have done - hell, we did 4 of the named there, and it was a walk in the park.

For all you people that want experience, go to the planes. But for anyone else that really wants an experience unlike anything else, go to Kunark - these dungeons are so cool, and it really adds an element to the game that is currently missing - fantasy. Look at PoI - WTF? Machines?!?! That is ridiculous - I could see how, over time, things develop, but I mean... *shrugs* I'd rather be in Kunark than the Planes, and it's sad that a small number of people feel that way these due to these planes... Oh well, have fun.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 15 2003 at 12:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Excellent post, but the only thing not making it a "great" post, if you will, is your terrible grammer Xion. No offense, but while wonderful in terms of info and background history, it gets a little confusing with all the jagged grammer and mispellings.

I find it funny that while explaining why his post was not "Great" you mispelled Grammar twice. LOL hehe...

This is very comparable to Bile Drenched Main-gauche. Same damage/delay, different stats, and no reccomended level.

I wonder what it looks like when equipped.

what are you talking about?

of course Veksar has better equipment, it existed during the Reign of the Iksar Empire, Cabalis was only made after Sebelis was taken by Trakanon. Veksar probably contains alot of ancient treasures lost to the Iksar because it was The Outpost in the Lake of ill Omen during the War with the Dragons

Cabilis and Sebilis used to be one empire, the entire Cabilis kingdom. Sebilis, or Old Cabilis as it is called, was overrun by...oh I dont remember now! Either frogs or sarnak...or both...whichever ;). Anyway...it'd be funny if in the new expansion they made undead iksar a playable race =P. And just something that's bugged me for a while, Venril Sathir, the dude who's faction you need for the outpost in OT, is an iksar! I've seen screenshots of the dude...he's an Ikky and should allow Ikky's inside his fort...right? Could someone post something here to help me out? Please? Sommat like game lore would be preferrable, thankies! ^_^

Game lore answer to why Iksar are KoS to Venril Sathir:

Venril Sathir was an Emperor of Sebilis, who ruled for quite some time, and under whose rule the research of necromantic arts was brought to the forefront of Iksar culture. His son, Rile, founded the order of Iksar Shadowknights (you can hear more about this in some of the IKS SHD quests) and became perhaps the greatest war hero in Iksar history. As Venril grew older, it was naturally assumed that he would die, and Rile would take his place as Emperor of Sebilis. But Venril Sathir had other plans, using necromancy to keep himself alive. Seeing that this was not in the best interest of the Empire, Venril was defeated and Rile became Emperor.

Venril, of course, was not truly dead. His soul remained in its prepared phylactery, awaiting a body. After Rile's death, memebers of the Cult of the Arisen (those NPCs that used to drop the ring in TT, but were removed are the current members of the cult), stole Rile's body and used it to reanimate the dead Venril Sathir. That body is the physical form that Venril Sathir has when he spawns in Karnor's Castle. The reason he's KoS to Iksar is simple - he is the undead form of a lunatic tyrant possessing the corrupted remains of the Iksar's greatest hero. I'd scowl, ready to attack, too.

For those who are curious, many of the details of this lore are revealed during the later parts of the Iksar Shaman quest for the Skyiron Cudgel of the Ancients, as well as bits and pieces in the other Iksar "epics".
