I like useing this robe to twink my lowbie research chars for the mana - 80 mana at lv 1 is nice, always dyed it as it looked tacky - the colour is not pretty at all - but after I made a drakkin necro and saw the graphic i fell in love!!!!! The Drakkin was made to wear this robe!!!! The best look i have seen on a caster yet!! now i dont care about the mana as my toon looks great in it!! I didnt even have to dye it - im happy with it as is :-)

I was down in the hole soloing today. 55th lvl shaman here. Once i made my way past the entrance with the 6 elementals, the one roamer ,and then the 2 by the doorway after going down the stairs and hanging a right. I decided not to go back to the front and med till respawn. Why not work my way on down. So I went up into the tower and begin working my way on down. There were several elemental of this and that. I fought an elemental crusader and it dropped a Loam encrusted cap. Later on a Loam encrusted sash dropped off of a Warrior. Then Later on Loam encrusted robe dropped off a warrior. I think they have increased the drop rate on these items. I never got drops like this before off of the old warriors. Have it in the bazaar for 4k now. Since I had to go to work tonight. Mobs were light blue, but doing 100% aa it was okay. I might be there more often. 4k in couple hours of soloing is not bad. Just my opinion though.

At 65 and 200+ int, Loam is only 112.5 mana.

By the time you have access to this robe, you also have access to much better.

Yes, at level 65 this robe would not be all that great. Especially since you can get...

http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=24396
Immortal's bloodied robe for 1492 points in BB LDoN. And there are many other better robes, depending on how and where you play.

However, this robe has NO level restriction. Your level 1 int caster can wear this. Not only that, but most int caster items have, not too surprisingly, + int . So, a lot of us have our int maxed. This robe has good mana and dex.

I agree with you, that at lvl 65 its not very good, but its actually pretty good for a low-mid level toon.

As far as access goes, see them in the bazaar for under 4k pp all the time.

Without a doubt this is one of the best robes going. I like to compare it to a dreamweaver robe that has i believe sta12 int14 mana40 and a few array of resists. However, the Loam robe in my opinion is far nicer. 80mana is equivalent to about 17 or 18 int, combine that with the 5 int it comes with and you have a nice 22 int robe. Dreamweaver robe is equivalent to about 23 or 24 int robe but its gawd awful yellow and no drop. There are usually less than 5 Loam robes on each server due to their rareness, which in my opinion, makes them even more coveted and valuable. The robe looks "prestigious" when worn and i was lucky enough to come across a level 59 chanter that sold it to me for 6k, far less than its worth. He needed the money to buy KEI. And when a better robe becomes available i can resell this one because wonderfully it is not no drop.

The stats are nice, but not that nice. I think a lot of the price is the look and the rarity. I'd buy one for 1k, but no more

If you find one for 1k, more power to ya! Never going to, though. Even with the mana changes post 200 int now, the 80 mana with that 5 int makes it more like an 18 int robe and that's at level 60. 21 int robe at level 50, etc, etc. Plus, finding saves on a robe without downgradeing to a SMR or froglok's robe will put you in ToV type stuff wich not every Joe Blow on the street can obtain. It's getting easier but not THAT easy. Coupled with the fact that you're lucky if this guy is killed more than once or twice inbetween patches because of his insane spawn time and that this isn't a super common drop.... that makes this robe very rare and fairly expensive.

You're really not going to find a robe that's arguably better than almost all PoH and PoF robes, and is much more rare, for 1k.

These are excellent... They are very rare to get. At level 60 this is the equivilant of a 19 int robe(14int = 81 mana in the 200+ range). The Skyshrine robe quests are certainly better.

This robe gives 109 mana... The insidious robe gives 110 for enchanters at level 60. It is almost as good as planar robes. Yoou will see roughly 2-3 loam pieces per level you spend in the hole. Some are rarer that others; amices and chokers drop more than the other pieces. You can consider that you have about a 5% chance of seeing a robe per level you spend in the hole xping.

I would say so, because according to what I have heard and seen, it is about 5 mana per int after 200 now at lvl 50, meaning that mana per int would be 1/10 of level aprox, as it is 1/5 of level for pre200. So this robe is equivocally 21 int, if you think of it post 200.

Ok we all agree that the stats are nice ok? 80 mana and the MR is what catches my eye.. very nice.

On the looks: first time I saw one was when I was a noob and even then I thought 'whoa what is this godly robe?' I saw at once that it wasn't the FBR and like I said I was a noob. lvl 4 or so with my first char ever. All I can say is... I have seen that robe only once after that and that's half a year ago .. hum. I want this robe, would go well with my collection. And yes, I do wear robes anly for looks :P Robes I use are Tattered Tomb Shroud, Robe of Dalnir and also the TeirDal Tunic. I just love em too much. *rambles on about his clothes, getting a tear in his eye then shuts up*

This robe looks damn cool - right, its the style of the good olī FBR, but the people that say it looks boring havent seen one themselves, I guess.
It has a brown (loam encrusted *hint*) graffiti-like shading and looks extremely cool.
According to the stats: they are excellent! You have to see that this precious here drops off Master Yael, a 52plus creature. If you are able to kill it with your group/guild/whatever you are above lvl 50, too - you should have an intelligence rating of 200+ already (if not = poor you). The Mana boost of 80 is incredible and just a few robes have an equal mana boost (and thats waht you need if your Int is 200+); the attribute increase (Dex 10, Agi 10, Int 5) and not to forget the SV Magic rating are very good indeed. Given the chance to choose between the Froglok BC Robe (even if I wouldnt own it) and the Loam Encr. Robe - Loam Encrusted would be my choice.
Just my 2cp

i agree 100% it looks very unique in its own way but also looks like a fbr in some ways. You can see what this robe looks like under the Equipment tab in Fashion Tables. Id definatly want this even without the stats to me the stats are just an added bonus on its great looks =)
not that weak
# Feb 26 2001 at 11:27 AM Rating: Decent
this is a great robe for post 50 chars that are 200int + . unlike most castor item where int is the the main reason to wear a robe, this is for the mana. seeing that post 50 int really doesn't mean much with the soft cap. my personal veiw is post 200int 5 int extra is 5 mana then add +80 mana as a bonus , great for extending you mana pool,if you're not planes ready P . it basicly breaks down like this with mana + int this robe is equal to abput a 13 int robe and yes what an ugly robe it is ( my 2 cp . neecro pheelyack - 53 heretic<sol invictus> tribunial
Weak? Hardly.
# Feb 20 2001 at 1:39 PM Rating: Default
Realize that a wizard at 45 gets between 8-12 mana points per INT point.

Realize that above 200, INT adds to the mana pool at a 1:1 ratio.

Realize that +Mana items will ALWAYS add to mana pool.

Therefore, this robe has the benefit of +13 INT (using the conservative 8:1 ratio) without running into the 200 cap.

And don't forget the +10 DEX, AGI, and SV MAGIC.

Looks aside, this robe is worthy of the pursuit.

Not so, anymore. :)

Mana post 200 is exactly half per point of what it would be pre 200. This is still a very fine robe. Just not QUITE as much so.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 15 2001 at 4:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For the top monster in the hole they need to bump the int to 10, and make totally new looks.Maybe they could make it look like cryo silk robe, or robe of the kedge.
Not the same as FBR
# Feb 28 2001 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
This robe doesn't look exactly like the FBR. Get someone with a FBR, and someone with this robe to stand next to eachother and you can easily tell that the colors are different
RE: Not the same as FBR
# Jun 25 2001 at 1:21 PM Rating: Default
Many people do not want a robe that you have to stand next to someone with a newbie robe to tell them apart. the stats rock. I'd wear one. But slightly different dosn't cut it for most people. (hehe I am still wearing a Robe of the Ishva just because it looks cool. My int isn't even capped yet. Stupid Iksar base int.)
