As main tanking I would use this and a shield.
As a mutt just doing dmg on a raid I would use 2hslash.

# Jul 31 2004 at 11:12 AM Rating: Decent
on a raid you would hit the same with this 1h weapon as you would with a 2h weapon

Regardless of this post about equipment, Knights are put on a higher damage table when using 2-handed weaponry, as well has having a higher damage bonus.

So there is a point in which a better ratio 1-hander will out-DPS a 2-hander, but in general, equivalent ratio on 2handers will be more DPS.

4 Questions
# Jan 20 2004 at 1:31 AM Rating: Decent
Allright, I have 4 major questions regarding this cudgel and Innoruuk's Curse.

1. How many times does this cudgel proc in 18 seconds (3 ticks) with 46% haste and 305 dexterity compared to Innoruuk's Curse with the same haste, in the same amount of time, with the same player's dexterity?

2. On the Soul Consumption effect on Innoruuk's Curse, the resist is: Magic (-200). What does this (-200) mean?

3. If I insert an augmentation gem into the cudgel or Inny Curse, for example one that provides an additional lifetap effect of 75hp, will this effect stack with the prior existing one, meaning that both effects will go off at the same time?

4. I don't quite get that quest cutting by hiding and the invis spells posted under Innoruuk's Curse, which the others seem to understand and which seems to shorten the Sk epic by a considerable ammount. Can someone explain this to me?

Just my 4 (questionable) plat.... ?
RE: 4 Questions
# Mar 03 2004 at 11:44 PM Rating: Decent
1. Haste doesn't affect procs. Dexterity and the specific weapon itself with it's native proc determine how often it will proc.

2. Reinforcer answered well

3. Procs are independent of each other, they go off at different times.

4. Buy a War Marshall's Bladed staff and forget about Inny's Curse because it isn't really worth having any longer. (If you are a true and blue SK at heart you probably already have Inny's so don't flame me, I see it's merit as an item of pride.)
RE: 4 Questions
# Feb 16 2004 at 11:28 AM Rating: Default
On the proc issue, procs don't stack in the sense that they both go off at the same time. They are independent of each each other. What happens is if the first proc with priority doesnt go off then the second proc has a chance to go off.
RE: 4 Questions
# Jun 09 2004 at 7:19 AM Rating: Excellent
There are now a bosable 3 proks that can be up on any swing. Well saying swing is wrong. A proc can go off anytime you have atack on and you are close enough to hit your target and are not stuned. Only one proc can go off during an internal tic ( 0.1 seconds not a players 6 second tick)
Here they are in the order of priority for procking:

1: The proc that came with the weapon. This can have a proc adjustment, but for 98% of all weapons they proc at about 2 times a minute at 255dex, 3 times at 355 (with out the Weapons aa's that can double that rate)

2: An augmentation that is added to the weapon (LDoN). This procs at about the same rate, just a slite bit less often since 2 procks cant go off at the same time. These never have a proc frequency adjuster to them. ( these procs are also efected by the Weapons aa's)

3: A proc that is place on the player as a spell. IE Night's Dark Terroradds a life tap proc. These can have a proc frequency adjuster to them, but most do not. Because these are the third proc parsed, they happen less often than the first 2. They are NOT effected by weapons aa's so you cant get them to increase in prock rate. As a mater of fact the more often your first 2 proc them less often you will see this proc. With a high proc weapon and full AA's you can have proc one hitting 9 - 10 times a minute, proc 2 going off 6 times a minute, but because the first 2 went off so many times proc 3 may be down to 1-2 times a minute instead of 3.

I got this info from eather the SK forums or the Warrior forums, can't remember witch, or I would link it. Hope this helps you all out.
RE: 4 Questions
# Jan 28 2004 at 5:20 PM Rating: Decent
2. The Magic (-200) refers to the target's resist check vs. Magic Resist being at -200, i.e. if the target has 250 MR, the "did the proc damage the target" will be done as if the target had 50 MR. The more negative the resist adjust on a spell, the more likely it is to stick on a target.

3. Yes, procs from augments stack with innate procs on weapons.

Cudgel rots on most raids. SKs don't want it. 1 hand weapons suck for Knights.

# Mar 04 2004 at 1:33 PM Rating: Decent
Ok as a 65 Shadowknight that knows what is up here is the info. When it comes to dps and a raid (I am not tanking) 2hand all the way I will do more damage. But when you tanking most of the time 1hand and use shield.. easier to keep aggro and better ac and hp. And NO SK that does not have this would let it ROOT if you think that you just dont know.. This would never root unless every sk in guild has it.

Colden, if your SKs are turning this down for a 2 hander, they are nuts! Pair this with a Shield of Strife or better and you are golden. Not as much DPS as other 2 handers, but for tanking, I've not seen better than a set-up then like this.

Items like this rotting are often the result of a flawed fixed point DKP system. Switching to a bid system or loot council means they only rot when all mains, alts and apps have one. That said a fixed point system has it's merits as well.

Ok, this is just insane...
# Aug 14 2003 at 7:57 PM Rating: Decent
I cant believe some of you think other SK weapons are better than this. Just think about this for a second. First of all this weapon has the best ratio of any SK weapon in the game. Now, if that wasnt enough there, realize, it is also a 1 handed weapon. Now there are a lot of benefits to using a 1 handed weapon. The biggest one is you can use a sheild. You get an uber shield to got along with this, and you can just tack on a ton more AC and HP, and other stats. With a two hander you are forced to leave that offhand empty.

Now, I realize that SK's do get a lot of nice AA abilities for 2 handers, but I seriously doubt that those outweigh whatever bonuses you could get from using a shield.

I honestly cant see how you can say Vanizar is better. The stat bonuses with this weapon combined with a similar quality shield would far surpass that of Vanizar. This weapon has a better ratio than Vanizar. The strikethrough combined with the lifetap also give it better abilities than Vanizar, not to mention whatever ability your shield would have.

If someone can prove me that a Vanizar is better I would love to hear the arguement for it. They are both better weapons that I will ever get I'm sure, as I'm not a member of an uber guild, and probably never will be. But I'm curious as to waht someone could say to prove me wrong.

CHALLENGE ON!

5th post on this page

For those who don't want to click the link...

"I know a SK who recently parsed it around 110 DPS in pure melee... as I remember he said it was only 25dps less than Vanazir"

Vanazir > This by 25 DPS

The Knight AA's make a HUGE difference, plus the damage bonus is much higher. VDD is much better than this by far.
RE: Ok, this is just insane...
# Sep 03 2003 at 11:28 AM Rating: Decent
Further research has proved my above post incorrect. Indeed, a Vanazir is a bit better than this. One does get more DPS out of a Vanazir with the use of the Knight AA's. Realized that the Triple attack, and Bash AA's really do add a lot.

As for the stats, they dont make a huge difference. A person capable of getting this weapon would likely have all their stats maxed after buffs anyway, and the few added HP you would get from equipping a shield really aren't as valuable as the DPS.

So, I stand corrected..... But still i would love to have one.

Um no
# Jun 25 2003 at 3:17 PM Rating: Default
No, it's the combination of the 230hp/mana and insane dmg/dly ratio which make the Vanazir own. A weapon with 500 hp is useless if its got horrible damage/delay, you're not going to be hold agro therefore negating the whole purpose of the hp. In high end encounters the 50 more hp or whatever on this v. other weapons won't make a big difference, though all hp does help. As for other weapons, Vanazir is the best weapon out there for the dmg/dly first THEN hp/mana. Weapons are made for damagae output, armor is for hp and stats.. stats on weapons is just a bonus. On another note, Cudgel of Venemous Hatred owns, best 1hb for sk in the game and seems like paladins got screwded with their equivalent.. 41/25, 150 heal v. 45/28 150 lifetap? All well. great weapons all the same

vanazir

you ppl who say 60/38 is the best thing about vanazir, you are just dumb the best part about vanazir dreamers despair is the friggin 230 hp/mana i mean you can get a better DMG weapon like plankton laced greatsword or any weapon i mean ya 60/38 is really damn good but look at the staff the avatar of earth drops , this is the most hp item in the game i have seen so far and if you get one you are happy with the dmg/delay but you are EXTATIC ABOUT THE 230 HP/MANA
thanx

What a bunch of sh*t.

It's not the 230hps/manas, it is also the fact that it is a 1HANDER with an insane dmg ratio.

Geez, it's better than an Ornate Blade from Time (Not sure if spelled correctly) and that's like a 53/35 (maybe thinking of a different blade now) - And that's considered Uber to about 90% of the people on each server.
(give or take)

With the 230 Hps/mana is another HUGE bonus factory, but I mean I don't think about would throw on a weapon just because of its 230hps/manas, I mean, would you throw on a 1HB/HS that does 13/62 (dmg/dly) with 230hps/mana?

What about a 2HS that does 23/48? - You see, it's not all about the Hps and mana, it's alot to do with the dmg output, etc.

Hps/manas are a super bonus, but like-wise with alot of gear, the higher the attack, the higher the hps/manas, the higher the boss, the higher the level req., etc.
Strikethrough

LORE ITEM MAGIC ITEM NO DROP
Damage: 60

Look up. Try again.

I would take the 2-hander over this, though, because Knights have huge advantages by using 2H over 1H.
