That was an easy one.

Zoned in, got Merc just in case and pulled the first two Guardians.

The Third Guardian in the Tunnel had that Drop. Yay

It's all about being at the right place at the right time. Got my drop on the second mephit out of the water. Although I had to do a few more for the living fire drop prolly 25 right up the lava tube, and out in the middle hut.
Not too bad

Took about 10 kills to get one today. Zoned in, killed the first two trilouns at the zone in, and just made my way towards frog room area while killing every triloun I came across. Didn't kill much more than 10 of them total. Not hard for 71 Monk + cleric merc.

I experienced a similar wait for mine though it finally did drop. I was in The Reef of Coirnav pulling every Triloun I could find. I figure about 40-50 mobs were pulled before it dropped from a Triloun Gatherer.

Our group were all level 75's composed of a ranger, a cleric, and a paladin. We had two tank mercs and one cleric merc so pulls could be gathered in batches. Really overkill though we wanted to go through them as quickly as possible. Pulling four or five at a time was a good batch and the cleric merc kept everyone healthy without trouble. The player cleric was then free to nuke and stun. We did find that setting a tank merc as the main tank was good considering the water environment.

Our camp was in the far southeast corner room that is south of the frog room. This allowed maximum pulls from several other areas without a lot of delay.
No so bad

Ran into water, first 2 triloun's killed and first one dropped it. Same in PoFire, got on first kill. Make sure to have the cage, loadstone, 1.0 swords and all on you, seems to help.

Ok. Here's what happened to me; maybe this will work for you too. The first time I went into PoWater to get the living fragment, I was in there for hours killing mob after mob, with no luck. Then a few days later, I started wondering if the drop is triggered by zoning in with a previous 2.0 drop on your toon. So I zoned in again with the crooked cage containing the heated lodestone, spirit manacles, earthcaller, and swiftwind. The fifth triloun I killed, dropped the fragment. Might just have been pure coincidence, but it worked for me.

Strange that you posted that.

I was in Western wastes hunting the ice burrows for my wife's mage epic 1.5, she needed the meat.

She had ran there with me and we killed 4 at zone in and she got 2 meats. She went to do some real life stuff and I didn't feel comfortable having her on autofollow due to all the adds in the zone, so I camped her and figured that when one droped I would just load her up and run her over to loot the meat.

3 hours later I had killed 36 ice burrowers and 0 meats. Needless to say I was getting frustrated.

Wife logged in her mage and ran up to me, we killed one BAM meat, killed another nothing then the 3rd kill with her there another meat.

Makes me wonder if they have something in place that if your not the toon that needs it then the drop rate is very much less then if you are the toon that needs it.

Happy hunting.

As it seems, this item is also used in Ranger epic 2.0 - along with Living fragment of Fire.
