Just wondering if people can still get these by killing the PoD? Ever since they made him the entrance to OoW, I was wondering if people can still fight with him. I would try it out, but I am pretty sure he would crush me easily.
Think you cant attack him anymore, at least couldnt when I tried in oggok.. sucks *** tho. Was the point of every guild meeting to go some city, have fun in pvp, drink, then kill PoD and log. =P
Tried to attack him in a few different towns and you are right, they won't let you kill the Priest of Discord anymore. Guess that means no more Robes of Discord
I took him down yesterday in Halas to see if i could take him (62 beast). Healed himself twice when below 50 percent up to bout 75 percent. Had to let pet get aggro quite a few times for heals. overall very fun fight but he ran at 6 percent so all is good. I had bout 15 percent hp and 5 percent mana left. Dropped staff and robe.
Just soloed him in Neriak, took about 10 minutes. Had 2% health and no mana when he died. Droped 20pp, the robe and the staff. Was fun just to see if I could do it. /evil grin
1. it isn't no rent. That's a typo in the description.
2. PoD isn't very good for killing, more useful for getting guild practice, my guild klled him to practice following raid orders, and such for when we do planar raids. Although sometimes ppl give him some decent armor that he drops.
Last night I witnessed 3 high lvl Characters (COUNT EM 3!) take out the POD in kelethin. One Ranger with epics, a Warrior, and a Cleric. (of course) They initially got the POD down to half-life before he healed himself, he was also hitting for roughly 300 pts of dmg consitantly. Like the post says up top i think he is some kind of hybrid GM class made up of different melee and spell capabilities. They eventually killed him and looted alot of different items i was told alot were NO RENT and about lvl 20 gear. The nice cleric gave me this Robe and told me he can drop up to 10 items at once! I dont know if different POD's have higher hit points or dmg output but it didnt seem to give these 3 characters any trouble. BTW this was on Torrvonilous Server. Thank you for your time :)
I think this robe is stupid...exact same stats as the Flowing Black, and you don't have to get groups of lvl 60 chars to get that one...even kinda looks like the FBR hmmmm ;)
The PoD in Rivervale is always dressed up by ubers. Hes always wearing all kinds of stuff like bronze. I once saw him with RyGorr or thats what it looked like. Does he drop the stuff that people give him?
Yes, indeed he does. All mob's do this unless you give them a nodrop item. I camped Konem Matse in Qeynos Hills, and due to the fact that he wears the head sash crap, I gave him some cap that didn't have any stats, and he wore it - and i looted when i killed him. Also, I also twinked the priest of discord, and had a friend kill him in Qeynos. He dropped all the stuff. So the answer is yes ;)
Currently I seen enchanters charm 3 guards at the pod lift at kelethin to wipe out the pod and they win EVERY TIME.. so it is not that hard... but to melee him yourself it might be harder.. don't know.
Enchanters can only charm one mob at a time... if a bat is charmed, and sent to attack the pod, as soon as he fights back, all three guards will attack him.
Sadly now that they revamped GFay (with the little arboreans, etc), this no longer happens. As far as I know, there is no longer any way to get the PoD to duke it out with the guards.
OK, it seems that we're all agreed that PoD is a cleric, right? One would expect that the robe would be wearable by a cleric, right? However, it is not. Now, I know that clerics don't wear robes, but then why is the PoD wearing a robe if he is a cleric? This is typical mind-numbing Verant logic. Sort of like when you get attacked by a dry bones skeleton wielding a sword and casting spells on you or how the MOB that drops the gnoll hide lariat is ~lvl 16 and the weapon procs for him, but it doesn't proc for a PC until lvl 25. Interesting.....
If you've noticed, he isn't a cleric, some mobs will have complete heal and if you interupt all their spells they drop a potion..I read this on one mob, forget where but he casts a stun I believe.

you're right on both points. Guilds that throw out invites usually die out or get a bad name. And people who beg to join guilds to get twinked or PLed, usually dont unless they are R/L friends with a member.
This has no other effect than pure enjoyment of watching the pod get his but whooped by the kelethin guards. If you own a druid or chanter at 12+ lev. go to the pod lift at kelethin<the woodelf tree city> and charm a bat take the bat to the pod lift and have it stay right near the pod. go as far as possible and have the bat attack the pod! as soon as he attacks the bat the guards will jump him. he will kill about 3 guards then they take him out cool fight to watch, when I do it i usually have a gathering of about 20+ ppl by the time the fight is over and ppl always spam me asking how to do it, well for all you peeps on prexus here it is =) BTW there might be a way to let the guards take him most of the way down and then ks the guards, if thats possible>?

Posted:Mar 16 2001 at 3:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hi I know this is off subject but Im starting (or by the time you have read this, I may have already started it) a guild called the Children of Discord. Im on the Rodcet Nife server. If your interested send an email to sithbob@hotmail.com
I am a drinal player with a 8 chanter and 15 shaman but i want a robe fo rmy enchanter but all i can find are torn training robe and green sr app robe i am willing to trade a green sr ap robe for red or any color otherthan GREEN its really making me MAD
u can get a sr ap robe in the befallen very common drop off the dark followers right by the entrance, conned blue at lvl 14, but ask nice and im sure someone might grab you one
oh i understad this, my magician lady at gfay hates this green robe too. the best way to get other colours is to travel. in ak anon- yellow robe, in freeport magenta, in quenos blue and purple from necroquild in aqueduct, yellow ones in erudin, brown at neriak and for wizzis in erudin wonderfull red ones. i talk about junior and senior apprentice robes, selled by merchants in guild
At those levels it is still not really possible to get a better robe, the people you see walking around in Oracle robes and FBR's are twinks.. I.e. they have high level characters who get those items and then pass them on to their starting chars... I was lucky when I started my wiz, and a guildmate gave me a robe of the keeper, not a bad item at all, for the newbie that I was...
What do you mean "isn't a 'twink' item". any item that a char is wearing, that at thier lvl they shouldn't have the money, or the ability to get is a "twink" item.....I don't know about you, but i is saw a lvl one wizzie wearing an FBR i would say thats pretty "twinkish". considering i doubt they could take on Najena, nor would they be able to get 100pp by killing bats and such
You poor, ignorant fool. Is the n00b who collects bonechips and spidersilks a twink? How about the one cleaning up Fine Steel weapons after sloppy ubers leave them to rot? Finally, what about the folks who were unexpectedly gifted by a higher level player? You've NEVER helped out a lower level person who was your race/class, Ebenezer?
Tell me, how do you feel about young people driving recent model cars? If Dad tried to give you his old Porsche, would you turn him down, saying "Sorry, Dad - I don't feel I've earned this equipment yet, and besides... it wouldn't be fair to the other drivers on the road"? I think not.
That reminds me - who NEEDS nice gear and cars? The people most likely to get annihilated by the first sign of trouble. So - try to bite back the bile next time, and remember, Envy is a Deadly Sin.
Woah. Chill, dude. He was only defining the term, not saying it is good or bad to be twinked - and you seem to agree with his definition, so leave it be :)
