The robe, while similar, doesn't look like the Robe of the Living Fungus.

This one is practically all green, while Robe of the Living Fungus is green with lots of brownish tints over it, and a different symbol design instead of the sun.

what's a CCS and what does it cost?
RE: price
# May 08 2002 at 12:27 AM Rating: Decent
CCS= Crystal Covered Shroud, it drops off a mob in CC. I cant exactly remember stats off hand but I believe it is 12ac 4str/wis/int and has a save on it and weights 1.0
RE: price
# Sep 28 2002 at 10:19 AM Rating: Decent
yes the stats are correct like he said but ive seen them go from 75 to 100pp, buti guess im lucky, i got one for my monk for 50pp, along with a sap of piety for 50pp too )
Not so great for monks
# Nov 10 2001 at 3:48 PM Rating: Decent
If you're a monk, you're better off buying a CCS. Much better stats, and I've seen them go as low as 200pp.

Actually, at least on 7th hammer they've gone as low as 70p in the bazaar. It seems like the most pharmed items have also (not suprisingly) become worth a lot less since the advent of being able to search for an item and see that 24 people are selling something, like CCS or my favorite the Steel Polished Ulak. (buy from a vendor for 3-5 plat, fairly common drop off a midlevel mob.... result? Hundreds for sale in the bazaar, some for 50, some for 5)

Maybe I'm exagerating a bit, but search for "polished" sometime in the bazaar, I bet you;ll see what I mean.
Why i use this robe
# Aug 18 2001 at 1:31 AM Rating: Decent
I use this robe for a few reasons, first im a erudite wizard. My int is already high and without the robe its 205..so that doesnt really matter. I know the 6 AC is low, but 3 agility is nice..since agility is needed so you dont get hit as much. 3 str is nice...considering the fact im using a -8 str ring (dont laugh..ring gives me 8 int, 45 mana, and other good stuff). As for the mana...15 is decent. Then theres the look...this robe kicks *** in that part cause no one has it...i get tired of having the same robe 5 other ppl in the zone have. Anyway..thats my opinion.

No until you go on raids AC is king besides as a monk i would rather have the CCS 12AC is much better even if it is worn by a lot of people it is still good to have
RE: oracle?

In my opinion, this isn't as good as the Robe of the Oracle for the Int Casters, but may be better for monks.

The Robe of the Oracle has the following stats:
AC: +9 Wis: +5 Int: +5 Mana: +25

This robe has a lower AC, lower Int and lower Mana. But, this robe has 3 STR and 3 AGI, which can be useful for a monk. It does look much better than the Robe of the Oracle (it is a dark green color, compared to light blue with yellow pasties), but looks don't save your butt.

I have looted two of these robes so far...gave one to a monk and one to my wizard...fortunately stats aren't everything to me...

First time I got a robe I was with a lvl50 nec guardian...he killed the Imp once and dropped the robe first try, then I put it on my monk then went back there after I got 46, was with a 39 Monk friend, he went in there and got utterly fried to near death, if casters are up...make that if the Imp is up and your a 39 monk your going to get screwd unless you have a Fungi Tunic and some Uber gear. I ST'd the imp and sent my pet and my monk friend on the Invoker...killed it quick with Ignite bones, killed the Gnome Mage then killed the Imp, camped the Imp til he dropped Robe (took bout 10 spawns)

I was there at lvl27 on my Necromancer and had a lvl50 necromancer guarding me trying to get some Grave Sandals, and Worm Eaten gloves and we were just clearing out down there and that Kly dropped the Robe the first time we killed it ;)
Compare this...
# May 14 2001 at 8:47 AM Rating: Default
Compare this... The Robe of Dalnir is AC6, +3 INT, and +15 mana. The Robe of the Oracle has AC9, +5 INT and +25 mana.

The only reason to have this robe for casters is for looks.

If you're a monk, it's a great robe I'm told. I'm not sure what other robes monks can wear beside this and the Oracle robe.

this is one of the crappiest robes for a monk
THE crappiest I would dare say

wow! this is even worse than cloth armor?
So, your 1st level (or even 20th level) monk would turn this down flat? You must twink the hell out of every character you make. I bet you use cheat codes on every other game you play, also. Why not just play the game, and if you get one of these, pass it on, everyone will be much happier.
hmmm
# May 07 2001 at 9:54 PM Rating: Decent
just got to dalnir, and while i'm shopping with my monk, i thought i'd pick up some stuff for my necro, as for this being worth 250pp, i doubt it, as was said below there are a lot better robes out there, and i think my necro will be keeping his green silk drape for a while longer ;)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 25 2001 at 10:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I wouldnt pay more then 250pp for that robe, who cares what it looks like and how hard it is to get, it is only 6 ac, hell there are plenty of chest pieces that are alot better and abit cheaper
RE: haha
# May 08 2001 at 6:21 AM Rating: Default
"I wouldnt pay more than 250pp for that robe"

Then you wouldnt get one

"who cares what it looks like"

Everyone else

"its only 6ac"

when were int casters ac dependant?

"Hell their are plenty of chest pieces alot beter and abit cheaper"

nope.

RE: haha
# May 14 2001 at 8:52 AM Rating: Default
The Robe of the Oracle and the Green Silken Drape (arguably) are both better than this robe. And alot cheaper.

Oracle: AC9, +5 INT, +25 mana
GSD: AC8, +9 DEX, +9 STA, +3 INT, SV POISON +15
#Anonymous, Posted: May 18 2001 at 12:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) but those two robes look like ***
#Anonymous, Posted: May 20 2001 at 5:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) aye those 2 are vry ugly
RE: haha
# May 24 2001 at 11:01 AM Rating: Default
Regardless, he's right. Those two robes are better for caster stat wise. If you into looks, go for the leather look of the white scale tunic.

And besides, the poster who was heckling the first one is flat out wrong. He states there aren't any better robes. He's obviously quite clueless.
Amazingly enough

Today, someone told me that this item is now worth 250. Unfortunatly i didnt have time to ask him what he was smoking.
WOW!

I got totally lucky. I broke the room (almost had to gate, but got a stun through then rooted). Summoned my L49 pet to keep it cleared. 20 minutes after I broke the room the Imp pops dies in seconds (Enc pets rule btw, I dont care what anyone says) and he dropped the robe! I was Level 52 enchanter, just collecting robes. Since I was already there on my epic, figured what the heck, I'd camp it a bit. WOW
RE: WOW!
# May 29 2001 at 1:04 AM Rating: Decent
WOW, you lucky ******* hehe. I haven't even been able to clear the room at 46. The foci room is so much easier my pet owned it by itself. I want one of these really bad, it would look so tight on my iksar monk. (Enchanter pets suck, my 44 pet would probally own yours)

Deepsky 46 Mage

chanter pets
# Jul 05 2001 at 8:15 PM Rating: Decent
lol. your 44 pet WOULD own, hands down, chanter pets are the sorriest excuse for an excuse that ever was. chanter pets are good for nothing but farmin greenies. any mob of equal level will school a chanter pet in exactly 2.7 seconds, so why bother. chanter pets are a minor distraction used to give you a 3 second lead on a mob when you book for the zone :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 10 2000 at 10:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this robe drops off of Kly Imprecator in dalnirs crypt of course
RE: Drops off of....
# Feb 11 2001 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
Very rare drop off of the Imp, lucky if you see it in a 14 hour camp. Nice stats and can be a tough room to keep under control due to the wandering mobs
RE: Drops off of....
# Feb 11 2001 at 5:59 PM Rating: Default
This is a 40 + solo room and even then you have to work your *** off to hold it
