Looks like it's been changed.

Now has a "55 second reuse timer Type 2" on it.

Guessing this is to stop people from spam healing with it.

Also,

Can anyone confirm if it still consumes a jasper seeing as how the spell version no longer does.

I'm still thinking i'm going to pick one up for my pally.

Price is 10-15k as of June 27th, 2005

Also remember it doesn't stack with temp
Gold Armor
# Nov 24 2003 at 1:35 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, with the new armor tinting ability, what values do you have to enter to get a gold tint?
RE: Gold Armor
# Jan 08 2004 at 8:22 AM Rating: Decent
I set mine up with 200/160/20 (RGB) and it came out pretty decent I think.
Let me know if anyone else has a "better" gold tint.
The Truth about Heals
# Oct 06 2003 at 9:54 AM Rating: Decent
Just to make things clear, this does heal, I've got one and use it to heal myself. When you first use the effect you get the buff, every time thereafter you get a heal, It heals me for around 275 hp's. It is fairly slow to cast, about 2.5 times slower than greater healing. Just one thing to be aware of is, if you have a Symbol buff higher than Pinzarn then it doesn't heal, so when you get to the level with the next symbnol buff above Pinzarn then it's a waste of time unless you don't take the advantage of the new spell. I wish I had this from a lower level, it's the ultimate Pally twink, especially as KEI is now just for 45+.
click heal?
# Jul 15 2003 at 5:52 AM Rating: Decent
OK people, symbol of pinzarn isn't a click heal it is a HP BUFF. Just had to get that out.
RE: click heal?
# Sep 30 2003 at 12:54 AM Rating: Decent
It can act as a click heal if this buff is already up on yourself or someone in your group. It will heal for 300 hp this way. When I solo I'll use this to manaless heal myself despite the cost of a jasper in order to save mana for in battle heals with the new LOY spells or stuns. Usually in a group or raid I'll have a higher buff, temperance, ageo, virtue etc. in which case i find myself only using it to buff groupmates after a rez or the casters in the group to save the cleric mana.
With a 10 second cast time it is mainly used for downtime buffing or healing. Even when I finally get an upgrade, I am sure I will keep it in my inventory for that very reason. :)
High AC vs. High DPS
# Jul 06 2003 at 11:44 PM Rating: Default
Ok for all y'all who keep arguing that AC doesn't mean a thing, lemme pose this question...

If you could choose between two properties your character possessed, the first being an AC so high you are nigh untouchable yet you could only do about (oh, i dunno...) 15 points of damage per hit...

...or second being you could do about 1000 dps, unbuffed, but had ZERO armor class, which one would you pick?

I, myself, would go with the first choice. Yeah, it may take you an hour to kill a spider hatchling, but if you can't be hit, YOU CAN'T DIE... AC isn't as trivial as many of you make it out to be.

So there! :P

The weapon is now called the Blade of Angles, and it is not a result of a quest but rather dropped by Xerkish (sp?) the Creator at the Ssra Temple. I have no idea what medication the last poster's on, but this weapon was never implemented as a quest.

Secondly, people again are forgeting the fact that Kunark specific class armor are about, what, 4 expansions old? Jesus, people, use your common sense.

Concerning Phinx's post "All you stupid paladins":

Nice message title. Lighten up, Francis.

Good God, man. Did someone steal the prize out of your Crackerjacks today?

How nice to receive the sacred words of insight from a condescending, anti-social EQ expert. The rest of us are truly blessed.

Seriously, it is good information you have given. However, even a hint of tact would have been nice.
Deepwater
# Oct 21 2002 at 5:49 AM Rating: Good
I would like to say that not only is this breastplate 40ac, it also has stats, and an uncanny appearance. The Bp also containts the proc of a component heal for 300pts...clickable for an eternity...When one is healing yourself for "free" time dosnt matter so much as efficiency...and as for the full suit...Resists arent the best to have, ac is key and deepwater will give you just that. Since the last patch, a paladin is now a secondary tank, Ac is god to us now...And this BP is the highest droppable.
RE: Deepwater
# Jan 02 2003 at 12:43 PM Rating: Default
40ac? I just bought an Underfoot Platemail Breastplate which is crafted for 18000pp(good deal). STATS : <51ac> 5sta 10wis 40hp 40mana
Now why would i pay a ton more just for a looong casting click heal that i have to buy jaspers for? If i want to click heal myself anyways, i will use the helm for free...
RE: Deepwater
# Dec 29 2002 at 2:42 PM Rating: Decent
Sadly it only clickable till you run out of jasper. Which is required to cast the spell off the BP..it's mana free..not componet free. Also, the cast time is tremendous..so unless you got ALOT of free time and your group dont mind sitting to wait for the paladin to right click heal himself for the next few minutes, it also basically useless.

AC isn't god....though most would have you believe that. It's nice to have more AC when your 20th level...at the level that your going to be using this BP...there is far more important things then A FEW more points of AC. Like saves and primary stats...and HP.

It's good but it's not the best

I have to agree with Mastikor.

I'm currently wearing a full set of DW after being hit by the "pretty gold armour" bug way back in my early 20's.

Number of points to make about DW:

1) Other than the bp and greaves no slot has stat plusses or saves. This is a real waste of slots.

2) Most of the spell effects are low level spells that are superceded a few levels after this gear starts to proc. Cancel Magic and Soothe... why bother? Endure Magic is useful as is Spirit Strength. To be fair though, unless you have no friends or aren't in a guild, at the level this stuff procs you'll be with people who can buff you far better than this stuff can.

3) The right-click effects take an eternity to cast. Stun is useless in combat due to its casting time. Symbol and Daring are painfully slow.

4) Although the AC on this stuff is high, there is better. And for the sake of losing a few points of AC you can gain much needed stat plusses and saves.

5) Unless I am wrong, spells cast by mobs ignore AC anyway. A point evidenced by a duel I had with a friend in the Arena the other night. His druid rooted me and blew seven shades out of me. I survived due to my remaining slots being taken up with hp plus items but to be fair, my saves are diabolical due to the lack of open slots for any resist gear.

6) As for soloing, at 50+ most of the mobs that appear dark blue to you can pretty much tear you a new one at least 50% of the time. You really notice the lack of Str, Sta, HP, and Save bonuses at this level when you go toe to toe with a mob. Yes, you have a high AC, however, the mobs at this level have no problem hitting you and it's usually in the 100's. While you're chipping away at them due to a crappy strength you're watching your feeble hp's drain as they blast you with spells you can't resist.

Ultimately, this gear looks good and impresses the noobs but functionally you are far better off with cultural armour or piecemeal gear in my opinion. Replace the guantlets with crystal chitin ones. Instant +4 to AC, +10 Str and 35 mana. Lose the DW vambs and replace again with crystal chitin gear for -3 AC (negated by gauntlets plus), Str/Sta +5 and hp's +10. So for the sake two duff spell effects, you've gained 1AC, +15 Str, +5 Sta, 35 mana and 10 hp's.

Okay, so you don't look like a gleaming golden hero anymore but I don't think you have to be a brain surgeon to work out the advantages of losing this gear. Or at least using the best bits for piecemeal armour.

I agree with almost everything. I had the total gleaming golden boy image myself, until I realized that looks are cool, but cool stats are better. Looking like a golden hero may be cool, but is also embarrasing when they come across your golden corpse because you didn't have those extra 100 hit points, or you needed another 10 magic resistance points to be able to resist that spell that killed you. The breastplate may cast slowly, but it is a nice buff, AND it reduces down time tremendously while also saving your mana. I have a 10 slot bag loaded with jasper just so I can click heal myself when soloing, or party members when the clerics mana is low, or when we're with a true cleric. Works awesome. The greaves are the only other Deepwater item I wear....has good ac and stats, plus the strength buff is nice. Gold chest and legs, but find other colors for your other slots.

# Aug 27 2002 at 6:58 PM Rating: Excellent
hey maskitor stfu, nobody said you had to wear a dw bp to a raid. Paladins dont tank main bosses in high end anyway. AC is very important when exping, it makes or breaks the tank. so stfu n get off yer high horse.
Clicky from Inventory?
# Aug 20 2002 at 4:09 PM Rating: Decent
Must you equip this to trigger the effect, or can it be triggered from inventory?
RE: Clicky from Inventory?
# Aug 23 2002 at 5:27 PM Rating: Default
It has to be triggered in your inventory by right-clicking on it. But don't dispair, you can hold left-click on an inventory slot until the slot pops up and then you can make a hotkey for it! I don't have anything that I would use that for yet, but when I get some DW stuff, I'm gonna use that, so I won't have to block my vision with my inventory in an important fight. Hope that helps.

RE: Ac is god? rofl
# Mar 25 2003 at 4:33 PM Rating: Good
So, you think AC means nothing in the high end game. Try fighting the SAME mobs you mentioned above NAKED, then try it with just AC gear on. Tell me then if AC means nothing.

Granted, Resists and HP gear are what are really required in the high end game, but you need AC as well. You have to find a balance that fits your playing style.
Deepwater BP and clicky symbol heals
# Jun 17 2002 at 9:59 PM Rating: Decent
I picked up one of these for about 34k from a guildie. Was a great deal for me, at the time put me in full deepwater, massive ac but the stats were lacking so I went with some Crystal Chitin stuff.
The Deepwater Bp clicks for healing while soloing makes the downtime next to nothing, and really it costs almost nothing 300pp or so for a bag full. I use em like candy and I still have plenty of cash to use for new gear. For me the question of using this to heal or not because of the price, I say its worth it. I use it all the time.

Effects
# Jun 13 2002 at 8:27 PM Rating: Decent
Forgot to add:

BP effect is a spell that pallies get, and they do not get a new symbol buff until they are (I believe) 59. There fore, it is not a useless effect. It uses the regent, but the manaless cast is what makes it worth while. Buffing your group in a heavy fight situation so save cleric mana is great, and lord knows clerics appreciate it.

Legs effect is a str buff, and if you solo or do not have someone to buff str, this stacks nicely with yaulp. Also nice since it is a manaless cast and you can buff your group, saving the mana of a druid/shammy.

In the high end game, AC is god, but stats are also important. However, as a paladin, you can buffs your stats, and you can buy +stat/resist gear. With the ac on the legs and bp, you can wear blue diamond resist gear and your over all ac evens out.

Not to mention higher ac means you get less often and for less damage. Very important when you are dealing with mobs that hit for 200 to 350 dmg a swing.

Something to think about.
DW rules!
# Jun 13 2002 at 8:17 PM Rating: Decent
This bp rocks, have mine, as well as dw arms, helm, boots and legs and I am set until I can complete my Velious quest armor. A 50+ paladin can wear a suit of Deepwater and not be a laughing stock. The ac is great, and the effects on these own, especially the legs, with Spirit Strength (about +18 str). It is my opinion that anyone who says this armor has crap really has not looked at all the others out there. Everyone would love to have the items dropped in Luclin, but honestly, how many guilds can take down High Iquisitor Seru or the High Priest of Ssra? Not many. Thankfully I did not have to buy the bp or legs, but if I had, the pp would have been well spent.
Trak
# Jun 10 2002 at 11:29 PM Rating: Default
I bet this has already been asked but I feel lazy dont wanna read...
I have never been on a Trak raid but I have read up a bit and saw he drops the Kunark class specific BPs. I just want to know what are the chances that he drops the Pally BP? Are the BPs rare drop or do they always drop?
RE: Trak
# Dec 29 2002 at 2:28 PM Rating: Decent
It's Ultra rare...which means just that. I have seen possibly 4 or 5 Deepwater BP in my entire carrier on Karana. About 3 of them have never left the guilds that originally got the drop off of Trak. They are used to upgrade the up and comming paladin members in their guilds, till they get a better BP to replace them with....ie...the BP are loaned to them.

Occasionally one of the ones that is in circulation will come up for sale. Usually the price ranges from 45k to 60k depending on who's selling and what kinda of a demand there is for high AC gear at the time. Though I have seen it in the bazaar on Karana for as high as 90k at times.

My understanding is that some sort of BP always drops (possibly 2, I know VS drops 2 legs), but not necessarily this particular one. There is a bp for each class on his loot table, and he doesn't drop them All of them at once.

# May 30 2002 at 12:09 AM Rating: Decent
deethleech, one thing you have to learn is that most click items still use gems. the deep water item still needs its jasper, just as a chanters robe for rune needs it. so learn the item, my friend has one and still uses the jasper for it!!

Well.. I don't really agree with the guy who has the first post on the screen.. First off, this BP does require a regent. With good faction you get them for bout 7gp per, or bout 16pp per stack. Second, pally's are defensive tanks. We are not offensive, that is why we don't do as much dmg as a warrior. IMHO a great 2hd'd weapon will out dmg 2 1hd'd weapons, or come out to be the same dmg. This is a great BP.. Make's solo'ing much easier for me. I can go into L.Guk at lvl 55 and basically take just bout anything down there save the Lord/King. The BP works as kind of a psudeo DW Helm w/ a regent. Heal my self mana free for 300+ hps a click. Any way.. Whole point of this post was to say that the BP required a regent, and on base with a warrior a pally of equal lvl could smoke a warrior of equal lvl.. =b All depends on the gear..

The first time you cast the symbol buff it adds to max HP total, after that it heals by adding the symbol amount of hp back, it does not continue to add to max hp. So if you have symbol of pinzarn on you already and it is cast again it is basically like a greater heal.

Warrior and paladin defensive skills are the same. As a ranger gets duel weild, a paladin gets the bash, dodge, riposte, disarm... etc etc etc... all the warrior defensive skills. Only post 50 does a warrior get additional defenssive skills.
