Not a pure melee's dream

Definitely NOT!! "wouldnt these really give the most benefit to those poor casty classes like wiz/necro/chanty/mage?" Answer, YUP. Until they get their ele silks, these are right up there. Dead casters = dead raid.

Dead caster = dead raid,
dead tank = dead raid,
dead cleric = dead raid,
dead dps classes = dead raid.
There are some classes that may be more cruicial at certain points of time than others are and then decide if it's a wipe. No way these are casters by default though.
About the whole this should go to this thing: Usually when there is an all/all item I am noone saying it benefits everyone equally. So if an all/all item has a focus effect or FT on it I have the opinion it shoud go to mana using classes not to pure melees. But this item doesnt have FT, it doesnt have a focus effect or anything like this.
The AC may give a tiny edge for Cloth classes, the Int/Wis a tiny edge for manausing classes.
The mana is pretty irrelevant imo. A 100hp item is as useful to a melee as a 100hp 100mana item for a caster. A 100hp 100mana item is like a 100hp item for a melee so it has the same full use for a melee that is has for a caster.
In my reasoning the most reasonable aspect as why this should go to specific classes is the plate look. Casters hide the legs under a robe so nope. Plate classes have the plate look already, so nope. So clearly defaulted to leather/chain classes. =P

The AC on these are awful for a plate class. Anyone who has gotten to the point where they can farm Lord Seru, can get better legs for plate tanks.

Even the royal attendant armor from LDON is better than this.

Similarly, chain classes can get incorporeal legs from EF ldon.

For robe classes, and most leather wearers, its hard to find comparable armor. However, monks get flayed barbarian legs, and the watchman's leggings from GoD are comparable, for all leather classes.

IMO, if you were to give preference to a specific class, it would have to be robe wearers. Then leather classes second, and plate/chain last.

High HP on an item with low AC is NOT a tank combo.

Of course, its really up to the guild or raid who manages to get these. DKP, merit, /random all are used by guilds capable of pulling this off, so I'd imagine there are probably characters of all classes on some server with these.

Enchanter Legs
# Apr 17 2003 at 8:21 AM Rating: Default
These would be great for an Enchanter. They never get enough AC and need it almost as much as a Cleric. Sometimes more than a Cleric. The 10 INT wouldn't hurt any either.

As a Druid, I don't get hit much, so I would let the Enchanter or one of the other casters take these before I would.

Melees at this level probably already have better anyway. If not, then they get em before the casters IMO.

As a level 65 chanter myself, i think id rather let a melee have these....

Ok... Umm how did you get to 65? You should be looking to get items like this. If it has 75 or more hp and caster wearable you should get in on the role.

the ac on these isn't going to do jack for enchanters, 10ac is like nothing,( they will still die in like 1-2 rounds) if you ask me these have mnk/bst all over em..
RE: Enchanter Legs

no way would these go to a mnk. Any guild capable of killing Seru, would have no problem killing AoW, and any monk who would wear these over the flayed barbarian hide leggings would be just a little bit insane. i could see beastlord though

While this is true, why would they go kill AoW unless there was absolutely nothing else up? I personally wouldn't take these as a monk because the stats do lean towards a caster. If you're at the level where you're just now killing Seru, a caster would be grateful for these.

The leggins are good but somehow I'd have expected better greaves to drop from a mob who calls an item like the Yttrium breastplate his own.

They have relatively low AC, no strength, no stamina, no effects - but good HP and resistance.

With their wisdom and intelligence they are a very nice piece of item for a shadowknight or paladin though. I think it's better for them than for, say, a warrior or rogue.

Personally I choose my Ivory Crystal Greaves over these any day.

Well call me a dumb *** but wouldnt these really give the most benefit to those poor casty classes like wiz/necro/chanty/mage? Yeah its not a plate classes wet dream or even chain. the hps and mana are GREAT however. Will everyone on a guild raid for plate classes have better, not likely, i mean 100 hp is nothing sniff at. But i think cloth classes would get the most milage out of these followed by leather and then chain, giving them to a plate class would prolly be a waste in the long run.
