And people said I have no charm....

Dropped on Crasher on AB today. Useful cos I didn't have anything in that slot. Gives me somewhere to stick my addy stone and frees up a backpack slot.

Dropped on Oceancrasher today

Dropped today on Povar on Oceancrasher.

I saw it on a corpse while looking for illusion potion ingredients, linked it to the group and only got one "lol", so I just grabbed it. Grats to my bank, maybe I'll link it for a laugh later when I find it in an obscure banked backpack.
Droppable
# Sep 11 2004 at 9:31 AM Rating: Decent
Definately droppable now, they are selling in the Tribunal Bazaar for about 6k-10k
WOOT looted it today
# Jul 15 2004 at 1:04 AM Rating: Decent
WOOT looted one of these with my bard of a oceancrasher random mob ... not a bad little charm and the empty slot is finally filled. Best of all it is lore and dropable. Checking here it is pretty rare ... so I am happy.

Also Dulak is an awesome bardic swarming zone ... very fun in the low 50's and awesome XP!

I dunno folks. I'm not high enough level to camp this thing...but let's use common sense:

You're cold (waiting for snow), you're wet (yea! it rained???) your visibility in combat is now lessened due to the weather but you've suddenly got higher resists!

Or... You're cold, you're wet, you're camping something with poison (etc) that will KO you for sure. But it's all good, you're protected by all that added resists! ... and then the skies begin to clear....

I'd personally rather have a lower "value" charm that was always "alive" rather than being burned, frozen, poisoned, or otherwise magically pistol whipped while waiting for the bloomin' *weather* to be "right" ;)

Save your slot. Spend the plat on some donations or flirt with a nice lil' cleric like me and get some resist buffs that generally have a valid and specific duration (and are castable at need, mana allowing hehe).

Just picked one up this week. First time we've seen one and we hit the Oceancrasher fairly regularly.

Since I don't allow it to rain or snow when I am in the zone, I didn't go in for the roll. In my case, it ISN'T any better than an empty slot.

Yesterday I was grouped with a friend of mine on the Oceancrasher, and this dropped. So I KNOW it is still dropping as of May 27th
NOT Common
# May 11 2003 at 4:31 PM Rating: Excellent
Ummm... what, exactly, is your definition of "common"? I wouldn't even categorize this drop as rare. It is VERY rare. In fact, I'm wondering if it wasn't either removed from the game or put onto some other mob's loot table. I've camped this stupid Oceancrasher boat and the dock leading up to it for over a week now - many, many, MANY hours, and ZERO drops from Deckhands. Also ZERO drops from Assassins. At lvl 65, I can mow through these mobs as fast as they pop, so it is extremely boring, and I really just wanted the charm as something to fill the slot. Well, after several hours of grinding for nothing but coin and a gem every now and then, I'm pretty pissed. If anyone has looted one of these recently, please let me know how long you camped for it, because I am about ready to give up. PLEASE change the rareity categorization to something other than "common", so others out there don't go through the agony that I have with this false categorization. What a waste of time. Overall, this entire Ykesha expansion is a damn joke. Even lame charms that only work under certain situations are a major pain in the *** to find. Gogo SoE with your promise of no timesinks.

Well, as far as whether or not it's still in the game, I can tell you that it is because I have one. As far as how long I had to camp for it, I didn't camp for it at all, actually. I was just in the harbor when LoY 1st came out, exploring/hunting with a ranger friend, we killed one, and only one, of these mobs, and this thing dropped. I won the roll. Took me 3 days to figure out what it did when it rains/snows, hehe. Not the greatest item in the world, but better than an empty slot. So much for my long-time dreams of casting Wake of Karana at level 56 though. =)

Well yeah, I know they are in the game. I know a couple people who have one. But both told me they got it when LoY first came out. Seems that you are the same. I'm wondering if it drops anymore now, because I've farmed the hell out of that boat and seen nothing. I finally did a /bug report. I dunno if it is bugged or not, but that many hours with no drops just can't be "working as intended".

Had one drop tonight (5-19-03) so it is still active...lost the roll though. :(
Useful...
# Apr 20 2003 at 2:52 PM Rating: Default
It's quite useful for me it seems... only because EVERYWHERE I go it seems to rain. I'll just hope no druids are in the zone... or anyone with and spare rocks...

Would be for a druid, since they can make rain start/stop.

Since when can a Druid make it rain? I know they can stop the rain, but start it?

[link="https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=1725]Wake of Karana[/link], eats an opal, not much use excpet for making sure it doesn't rain for your wedding or wowing newbies. similar effect is the[link="https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16643"]Meteorological Rocket[/link], a high level tinkered device.
Better then nothing
# Apr 16 2003 at 8:30 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah i'll admit it isnt anything too great, but it fills that empty equipment slot nicely and it gives me a reason to not mind rain and snow as much. Also, it was a nice present to get when I was just exploring the boats in dulak.

I agree with you Nemek. I saw this for 500 PP in the Tholuxe Paells bazaar; alt/tabbed to check these Alak posts; then went back and bought it. I wouldn't have paid much more than this though.
