On Agnarr this date, a lucid shard dropped off a goranga scout, not a named goranga.

battlemaster and prophet

I camped both the battlemaster and the prophet by pulling to a ridge to the right of Akheva Ruins entrance as you face out. There were a few wanderers that infrequently aggro'd, but most of the time between the goranga pulls was spent reading a book.

Spent about 8 hours in total to get 6 drops. This is out of 7 battlemaster/prophet spawns, so they seem to drop the shard most of the time.

Yup, A Goranga Battlemaster is the way to go. Cleared the place holders a few times and he popped with the shard.

After reading some of the posts here, I thought I might get this drop within a 2-3 hour timeframe. So far I have killed 72 goranga scouts over a 3 day span of 9 hours playing time - still no named. Camping the 2 spots near AR zoneline as mentioned below.

If you have no one to compete with, clear the ones near the DS zone, straight out, slightly left. A 3 spawn around a rock. Once you cleared that, then go get the akheva one straight out from the akheva zone line.
Those two seemed to pop the most for me. (I've helped a lot of folks get the shards)
The one over the hill and over by the skelly field always seemed too rare compared to the others.

As a 65 necro I would pull from the scout camp not directly front of AR but next to it. there is large area you can kite directly south east of the camp. Pull to there. As for spliting the mobs.. I just kite the adds with snare. sick the pet on th one I am killing first. After you rest up a bit and come back and finish the 3rd off. Time to hit the other camp over the hill in front of the camp.

This way you are killing 5 mobs per pop and have a slightly improved chance of getting named up. Hope this helps someone!!
Not bad at all

Got my ME shard this morning. 65 Druid solo. As your faceing Akaeva Ruins, there are three mobs on the left. Two are close together one is a little bit seperate. Take the single out root rot stay hight on the hill. For the other two I couldnt single pull, so have full mana cus your gonna have to take them together. They have boatloads of hp. They root snare no prob, none summoned. Only got one skelly add. Took about 8 kills. The Prophit(sp) dropped my shard and he's a caster so you need good resists. Good Luck.
Not that hard!

I have been camping in ME non-stop for the past several weeks (as my guildies can attest to), and this shard is NOT that hard to get! Really! I ooc one or two almost every night. (been camping the named for twinks for my warr...)

Camp 1: straight out from DSP ent. There are 3 goranga scouts. Clear them and eventually a goranga seer will pop (PH is the scout nearest the wall of the fortress). Re-pop time is about 20 mins. Keep clearing them and within 2 hours or so you'll have the Seer, depending on your luck. Seer almost always drops the shard (IE: in about 20 Seer kills, he dropped the shard about 18 times...).

Camp 2: in front of Akheva Ruins zone. You will see a rock with 2 goranga scouts. Clear them by pulling up to the wall to the left of AR, eventually a Goranga Battlemaster will pop... kill him! Again, almost always drops the shard (in 6 or so kills, always dropped it. But maybe he doesn't always).

Camp 3: a little bit to the left of the Akheva Ruins ent (over the hill from the camp with 2 scouts previously mentioned), there are 3 goranga scouts... clear them, and eventually a goranga prophet will pop (seems to be the one farthest from AR ent is the PH, but not sure on this...). Again, he almost always drops the shard... in maybe 10 kills he dropped it 9 times.

Possible camp 4: if you zone in from DSP, and run to the left (invis pls!!!) you'll see a tree with 5 gorangas in a circle around it. Clear them and eventually a goranga spiritseeker (?) or goranga chieftain will pop... those *MAY* drop the shard as well. I'm not sure, as I didn't take note: I had my shard long before them... LOL. But the Cheiftain drops some nice gear! Look him up; you'll see!

In short, this shard is NOT repeat NOT that hard to get! My 65 druid oocs one or two every night while I camp there for twinks for my warr...

None of these MOBs summon... though some are casters. Easily soloed with my 65 druid... though they tend to break root early, so be ready for that!

Hope this helps!!

If you need further help, send a tell to Mussounsaram on the Tunare server... glad to be of assistance!

Not that hard!
# Aug 31 2006 at 9:14 PM Rating: Decent
66 druid here. Been hunting for this shard for a week straight now (hours here and hours there). Have been clearing 3 camps 1. out infront of DSP zone 2. the 2 left of AR zone. Have had 1 named spawn which was the Prophet and he did not drop the shard :(. May just be my luck, but guildies even come to help clear camps faster cause they can't understand what's taking so long to get this. All depends on your luck as to how easy to get this as u can read in any post from any of the shards. Hopefully i'll get mine soon because I just can't give up on it now. Just happy to here that it was easy for others :)

I camped near camp 3, cleared it, then cleared camp 2, then run to and clear camp 1. I was here for about 3 cycles, then left and came back about a week later, cleared 1 cycle, and on repop I got the prophet and my shard, went to get AR shard in about 6 kills, come back through ME and see seer up with nobody else in the zone. Decided to let somebody else have a pleasant surprise if they come looking for shards.

Very nice post here,

Got my shard in 45 mins... I started by quading the Seer group, or camp 1 as it states here. Then went to camp 2, the Battlemaster group, bind on hill (which is to the east of A.R. zone in) Harmonized and pulled, DoT'd each till dead. Succored back to the 1st camp, again, quaded the 3. Gate'd to camp 2 and the Battlemaster was up, and droped the Shard...

Thank You very Much

Raid Force???
# May 11 2004 at 2:31 PM Rating: Default
LMFAO

This one is just a matter of farming, the hardest lucid shard is the one in the Deep, which requires a substantial group or raid force.

Raid force? My 65 Shaman soloed the shard in the deep, quite easily I might add. Got my shard in 2 kills.
RE: Raid Force???
# Dec 07 2004 at 8:37 PM Rating: Decent
Note the person who posted that posted it LONG ago... and some take raid forces to just scour the place in minutes, getting as many as possible, then doing a named there for some rare stuff.

I'm actually arranging the same with EP flagged people, why? It'll be faster and we can snag a cleric maybe a clicky mana regen item.
Increased drop rate?
# Apr 19 2004 at 4:12 AM Rating: Default
In two or so hours two 2-boxers didn't have to kill very many scouts to get 5 named to pop. Out of those 5, four dropped shards. Don't kill anything but the scouts or the named or you are wasting time. There were 3 different camps we took out scouts and all three had named pop and shards drop. I really believe they've increased the drop rate as of late because I've gotten 6 different shards in a week spending no more than 2 hours a session and getting from 3-5 of each one for "The Clan".
Damn Evil
# Apr 01 2004 at 10:08 PM Rating: Decent
I dunno what the devs were thinking when they made this shard. Put it on an extremely rare spawn and make it so it doesnt even drop all the time, ugh. ANyways 32hrs and counting at this camp
RE: Damn Evil
# Apr 14 2004 at 7:34 AM Rating: Decent
omg.. 32hrs continuely ??

In my exp, if u only kill the spot which they spawn, they will take longer to pop.

Kill all scouts in spawn camps and they will spawn faster.

My max record to farm shard for guildmate is 6 hrs 8 shards.
Patch
# Feb 28 2004 at 10:03 AM Rating: Decent
Quellious just experienced a patch and I was really excited about getting to ME and hoping a named was up, well NO and after 2 rounds of scouts, still no pop. I am getting bored, and this being my only shard left, I am also very disgusted. It WILL be worth it though.

As a wiz, Quad kite all scouts in Zone, don't feel any difficult to farm the shard. Around spawn 1-2 named each hour. I've destoryed about 20-30 shards when i am Lv60 exping in ME

What a Pain
# Dec 25 2003 at 6:31 PM Rating: Decent
I had to cycle the 5 spawns near AR all day and when the Battle master poped, I wen't LD, only to come back finding someone killing it. I was so pissed... This quest's bottle neck blows.

Blasted Shard
# Oct 18 2003 at 3:01 PM Rating: Decent
I just want to add that this is the worst shard out of them all. I've spent countless hours here, just to be dissapointed by the non-spawn of any named. Only positive note is that I've gained 5 AA xp in the time that i've camped here so far. >< I even ooc'd 100k for loot rights. =p
RE: Blasted Shard
# Oct 20 2003 at 11:14 AM Rating: Good
Yep, hardest shard by far. Note: If you have a choice, don't camp the Seer (Camp is on corner of castle). I was camping there for 8 hours and saw two Seers but neither dropped shard. I have been camping shard in zone for much longer and each hour my sanity erodes a little more.

THE hardest shard to obtain
# Jun 20 2003 at 11:45 AM Rating: Decent

Of course, you could factor in luck to it, but by far, The Maiden's Eye (Tak) Shard, is by far, the hardest to obtain, in terms of drop rates, spawn times, and availability. If you see one rotting, DO NOT HESITATE to loot it (Even if you're level 23, without invis, and the shard is rotting half way across the zone), it will save you an ungodly amount of pain in the future

# Apr 27 2003 at 2:24 PM Rating: Default
This shard imo is by far the hardest to obtain. Its taken me less then 4 days to get all of the others, this one is only dropped by the named, and is usually perma camped by druids who are selling the loots rights for anywhere from 5-10k platinum on Saryrn. I'm still looking for this one.
