DropsThis item is found on creatures. Cazic-Thule: Lost Temple of Cazic-Thule (Level 85 - HH)
This was dropped by the Avatar of Fear in the original Cazic Thule zone; replaced by the class specific quest armor. It is highly coveted for it's effect of regeneration. It's now a reward from the Shadow Haven casino as well as a drop in the special "Hardcore Heritage" version of Cazic Thule. |

So we might be able to assume whatever currently drops Ravenscale (but they may have changed a lot of the NPC when CT was upped from a newbie dungeon). At the very least it was all from the zone by the sounds of it so kill it all and let us know!

naw, it's always been plate/chain.
No it was once usable by Monks.. I used to have screenshot of a Monk doing flying kick wearing full suit.. This was before it was removed from Cazic Thule.. way before Kunark... So yes it was usable by Monks.. not sure if all/all but monk was wearable..
Regen items are still expensive or hard to come by for lower level players. This BP was the shiznit back in the day and you had to have a really good group to camp it. Before the Sol Ro armors were introduced, this item was always overcamped and kill stealing and ninja looting were common. It was really unpleasant trying to get one of these. It may be trash to you if you already have better, but you can probably sell it within minutes for a good price if you put it on your bazaar mule.

Nothing personal but you did not play Everquest "Back in the day" if you think so. This camp most likely invented the word "Kill Steal". This one or Drelzna when she droppe Jboots.
People would literally stand around the lizard spawn point and go full DPS on it as soon as it popped. Wizards were usually the ones getting the kill shot.

Why is it that they always have to put a piece of **** item in such a great thing, like the casino? Where people can spend 50K+ plat for a chance at the gold ticket. Once aquired they look forward to the possibility of holgrish elder beads, or a scimitar, but no, they gotta throw in this breastplate thats worth 10k max. Hell its not usefull, the iksar bp is better for the regen. So why did this show up in the casino? Because the guy in charge of making the casino was too busy sucking a fat **** to realize he accidentally added this instead of something better. Woops, their bad.
It's in there for nostalgia purposes. A lot of people wanted one of these, but were never able to get it before it was removed from the game. Putting it in casino gives them a chance to have not only this, but also a few other items that may no longer drop anymore that were considered desirable in the beginning.

Naw... it is still worth it for those of you that actually look for collector's items. This is one of them. Imagine a cleric with chloroplast and the rubicite breastplate ... using a manastone to get mana back. those of us who saw them in use before Kunark know what I mean. this item is still a good item. No matter how you look at it +3 regen for a lowbie training up to 30 or 40 is killer. You could find better yes... if you want to shell out the money for it. it is also helpful for shaman who are cannibalizing for mana. it is still a good item. Just not as good as others. Much like Ton Po's or Gauntlets of Infuse or Holgresh beads. Each of these items are good and are helpful. There are better in the game... but they are still helpful. Said my piece ... hope this helps broaden your mind.
This dropped just a few days ago at a GM event in Everfrost. Tons of ice giants were spanwed outside Permafrost Keep and they were randomly droppin Rubi. We got like a full suit and I won the BP. My bard will love it =)

I recently got one of my friend's Rubicite BP and boots stolen (stupidity on my part) on TZ. I'm lookin to trade all the cash and items I got on Emarr for one of these on TZ, send me a tell as Faeo on Emarr, or Twelvesteps on TZ.

I was so upset cause I was 2nd on the list for Drelzna when the servers came down for patch. I was SOOO close to getting my jboots

The seller was initially asking 19k, but I ended up getting him down to taking an iksar regen bp and 8500pp for it. Some would say that the item wasn't worth what I gave for it, and based on stats, obviously it wasn't. Others would tell me that even the color isn't unique anymore now that /bodytint is in-game (rubicite is R155, G15, B15, by the way :P), and that's true, too. So why'd I get it? For the same reason a vintage car collector buys a Ford Model-A. You wouldn't buy a Model-A because it's fast or has all the latest features. You'd buy it because it's a Model-A. Same thing applies here.

Well, strange as it may seem, I just got a second rubicite breastplate, less than a week after I got the first one. Got a terrific deal on this one, too. I traded a pair of Golden Efreeti Boots (running 2.5kpp on AB right now), a Tantor's Tusk (anywhere from 1kpp to 2.5kpp), and 1kpp cash for it.
All in all, I'm happy. Two rubicite breastplates in one week. Heck, yeah!

I have one of these on my Warrior and have had for about 2 yrs. I have thought about selling it, but it's kind of nice to have an item that not many people have right now.
Kind of like the fact of owning one of those hard to find, one-of-a-kind items.
I have seen them being auctioned in the Bazaar on Povar for 50k. Don't know if it got sold for that price or not.

i remember seeing one of my shaman buds walking out of cazic with his new rubi BP and i swore that someday i'd get one. took awhile, but i finally did and it is my prize possession.
i have people ask what is really worth...to me priceless. nothing tops the red skull look it has on an ogre warrior and it doesnt drop anymore...priceless

/shrug these are a collectors item imo, I saw a Halfy with full rubicitie (on RZ) and it brought back good memmories of the old school days of duel steins/oracle robe and dual yaks/full rubi.

hey, if an item is old/rare enough, people will see fit to collect it for obscene prices. like the manastone, pre-nerf CoS, pre-nerf GotD... granted those have a bit more useful effects, but =P.

Goes to show ya-Check the boards to know what equipment is what. This recently Dropped on StormHammer Server on a GM event off of Doog the Little HG in EK I had it and nobody wanted it-some guys said he could use it for his Pally so I gave it to him-I had NO idea it even had regen properties (didn't know what rubicite Aura was)-I am now kicking myself in the buttocks for letting this go--goes to show yajust because the BP you are wearing has more AC doesn't mean it is the best!
I just recently aquired a rubicite bp on torvo, was won in a gm event. but on my server i dont think rubicite dropped because torvo is a newer server , well was =0) not sure if they nerfed it before or slightly after torvo was up.
but i think it may be the only one possibly a few more rotting in a bank but shame on them if it is its a nice looking piece with luclin.
i've wanted this for 2 years now i have it, im happy =)

On Stormhammer during a GM event in Lower Guk, one of the GM controlled mob's high level guards dropped this BP. (Which I was luck enough to win the roll on.)

Considering Ceremonial Iksar Chestplate gives 1 more regen per tick, is much easier to find, and is only about 2k more than this, I Don't see why anyone would search for this breastplate and pay big bucks for it unless for some reason they just wanted a full set of ruby. =)
