Got this tonight while getting some xp for my 48 SK. He has all the weapons he needs, but there is an up and coming SK in the guild that will enjoy it. I took out the armory mobs for about 2hrs before he popped. It's a nice weapon, but he already has a Widebladed Greatsword, so I saw no need not to pass it on. It's a good weapon for those who don't have a decent weapon at this level. Well worth it for a Shaman/SK duo to gain some xp, and get a decent weapon for an upgrade.
I don't know if they upped this guy's spawn or what, but he doesn't seem TOO rare.. about the same rate of poppage as the other named in dulak. I've hunted in the armory with 2 different characters, and now have 3 of these.
I definately expect to see the guy if I do more than a level or so there... the mobs in the armory have low HP for their level, so this is a nice camp. The only draw back is that they have longish agro range, so you want to use a little caution while pulling. The named that drops this lance isn't that much tougher than a normal mob you'd fight here... so give him a shot.
This guy spawned twice in a row for me last night. I didn't even know about him and since he doesn't have a typical 'named' name, I didn't know he was anything special. The fight lasted a bit longer than usual, but not much. I just thought he was a tough normal mob.
Because the graphic is the same as the heavy iron spike, I almost missed it. It wasn't until after I looted it that I noticed the difference in name scrolling up on my dual boxed char's screen.
I called for one of my guild SK's to come get it when he had a chance and kept going...and a few minutes later, he popped again.
I've fought in the armory for, at a guess, about 20 or 30 hours now at various times. I normally keep it 'clean', so everything dies every spawn. Last night was the first I saw him, so he must be somewhat rare.
He spawned on the west wall about 1/3 of the way down if you set up at the back of the armory. I think there are about 3 mobs 'before' him along that wall.
52 Cleric and 53 Shaman had no trouble at all, at all with him. My normal method of "Pull with Retribution, Slow with Tigurs and sic Old Yeller while Cleric melees" worked just great. No heals needed until after, no recasts or DoTs used.
Now to get Enraged one more time. I gave my Soul Stripper to a guildmember who wasn't having any luck camping him...now I need a new one.
Got one for my Gnome SK for a mere 100pp in Bazaar. Quite a nice grab and the mana-free Lifedraw is always nice. I've been double attacking for 110+ with it lately, which is nice, considering I was using a Weighty Polearm as my main 2-handed weapon. Good thing I kept that Piercing skill up. ;D

Was fighing there me 55 necro with wife 55 druid, was a cake. He didn't seem to do much but with pet buffed up and me doing heal over time ... with Gnoll lariat wipe ... he was just not casting or doing anything
I think he just cast malo or so debuff, might have been from earlier, can't remember. She didn't need to heal the pet and i just EBolt and BoD ...
Well he poped on the West side of the armory and was between 2 refiner ... kind of mid way in middle of wall ... he came with one add didn't try to harmony ... just FD pulled ...
With a level 54 Shaman, soloed him fairly easily. Slow landed after only 1 resist, but root did not seem to hold for very long at all, even shorter of a time than with other mobs in the zone. Hits for max of 115 that I saw. Slow, root, EBolt and pet fully buffed took him out. Only had to heal pet twice, if memory serves. Dropped this lance as well. Sells for about 2k on Ayonae Ro
The ore refinery overseer spawns, oddly enough, in the Refinery. Same as the other named mobs in Dulak, he's very rare. In four nights of 3-4 hours each, we saw him twice... Both times he spawned along the western wall of the refinery, halfway along the wall. Dropped the 'lance' both times. He does not cast, and the 'lance' does not proc for him. Which means he's not an actual shadowknight :) Has a good chunk of HP though, and max hits around 135 on a 1000 AC level 50 paladin.
As the poster below said, this is very large... Heavy Iron Spikes have the same graphic. It looks quite menacing, nowhere near as cool as the Heavy Windrider's Lance though.
I have 2 gripes with this item. 1 being that its 2hs. You dont slash with lances, you stab. My 2nd, mostly related gripe, is that it is swung like a 2hs. I saw an Ogre in HHK using one of these... at first I thought it was a Heavy Iron Spike, but then I saw him start swinging. Same overhead swing animation that you get with all other 2hs... and, to swing something this long and thin like that makes it look like you are trying to break it over the head of the mob.
