As of June 2022 everything for this can be MQ'd with the brothers at level 1. My monk on Yelinak (in classic right now) just made the robe at level 1.
Had the idol and book on my druid. Collected (or bought) all the headband and sash quest pieces with my mage. Made newb monks in freeport and qeynos and parcelled everything to them for the turn ins.
Gave the purple headband and red sash to my level 1 monk. Took him and the druid to SK, Qwinn was up, went through quest text, turned in idol with the druid and then headband with the monk, got the needle. Went to rathe and had to kill PHs for about an hour before Bro Z spawned. Went through quest text with him, handed in book with the druid, then sash with the monk, got the rare pattern. Bought 400 mandrake root from an alchemy supplier and got monk tailoring up to like 50 and made shadow silk. Combined everything and bam, RotLC on a level 1 monk. Stylin.

New pic with accurate stats added. Wow, surprised nobody has updated that!
Just wanted to drop a post to give my experience on TLP for getting the robe. There is now an added PH in the rotation, "a grizzly bear". Not all of them of course, but if a grizzly bear spawns and heads straight to the valley/exit, same as Bro Z and the other PH's, that is the PH for that round. ALSO the bear WILL be killed if it encounters a HG, so if you simply don't get a PH at around the right time, wait another 4-5 minutes and look again, odds are it was a bear that spawned hear a HG and got killed for you.
I can also confirm that the rat ******* doesn't drop the robe until you can see him wearing it.
Total kills:
A drake - 73
a grizzly bear - 46
Maldyn the unkempt - 11
Hasten Bootstrutter - 7
Brother Zephyl - 5
As you can see, if you're missing the bear as a PH you'll do a LOT of waiting around thinking you didn't get a ph while the bear strolls around the zone to finally despawn.

A bit late but...
I have gotten him to spawn six times now, all without a robe. I was wondering if indeed to start faction slaying. If so what needs to die? I am iksar by the way
Update on Bro z's spawn cycle. He will wander the zone for about 10 minutes. once he gets back to his spawn point he will depop and start the cycle over again. Not sure about other place holders. Good luck.

I got a confirmed drop of the robe of the lost circle from brother zephyl on Marc 19, 2016. Took about 30 hours camping on and off over a week. Just keep at it patience is your friend.

Anyone have either Brother drop a robe recently? I could build a cabin out of their bodies at this point and still no robe to show for it.

Herp never mind, finally got one to drop a few hours and several kills later. Drop rate just seems ******** than it use to be.
Just got my Robe today off Brother Zephyl! I camped for around 15 hours total, and killed around 7 Bro Z's before he finally spawned with a visible robe (while I was in the zone).

I was wondering if anyone knew for sure which mobs are Brother Qwinn's PH's, I killed him once, no robe graphic and no robe, but that was two days ago and I have not seen him on track at all for the last two days since. Any info would help, thanks.

Killed Brother Qwinn twice last 2 days. When he had no graphic, no robe dropped. Worn robe graphic (appears Burgundy in color) was on him when he did drop it. Someone mentioned the robe graphic appearing only* if he has it and spawns while you are in zone. This was not* the case for me, as I switched thru multiple toons in zone for MQ, prior to killing him, and all of them saw his robe on. He also had Torn Brown Shirt* and Black Headband on corpse at time of the robe kill.
- note: Qwinn did not respawn after turn-in, so it is* possible to do turn-in, then kill him after-the-fact to check on robe. I did it this way so I could keep one after I turned it in for the Whistling Fists version :)

ummm... yeah -- have ALWAYS been able to craft this... you do it as part of the monk 1.0 quest ... camp raster and targin -- give their peices to bro Z and bro Q and get the needle and pattern back -- combine with some other stuff and BOOM RoLC as part of 1.0 quest. Still waay easier to just kill Bro Z and Q till they drop it... unless you're super lucky or love 200+ hours of camping hehe.

Long camp for this robe but beats doing the quest killed him total of 10 times before he droped the robe

Just thought I would throw out another update.
Camped Brother Zephyl for about 8 hours today. Lots of drakes, quite a few Hastens, and a few Maldyn. They all spawned in the new HG area, and would proceed to head west. If you did not get to them in time they would pop over the ridge and you had a long run to track them down. 6 mins is the spawn timers. Killed Bro Z 4 times. 3 times no robe graphic and no robe. Last time he had the graphic and dropped the robe.
Hope this helps I know it's a lot of repeated info, but I thought it would be helpful.

Finished this quest abit ago. For anybody that cares it is iksar useable also. Been checking all day for quinn to turn the stuff in. Finnally found him up, looked like he was roaming from aviak nest towards the west side of the splitpaw area.

Kinda late I know but... soloed Brother Qwinn for it. It is a fast but intense fight. I am a level 65th mage on Tunare server and my tactic was to park my pet at Brother Drash then wait for Brother Qwinn to path near (after verifying the second time he was up on my bard bot; the first time I killed him a random ranger in zone pulled him to the zonein to Splitpaw). From there I cast mala on him and sent my pet. I followed up with my Host of the Elements immediately as well as chaining Planar Renewal and Transons Elemental Renewal. On the first fight I had to use LoH at 53% on Brother Qwinn because I mistimed a heal (quads) and still ended the fight at 35-40% mana. He did not run until he was at 9% hp.

Does this have to be worn to cast the effect or can it sit in an inventory slot?
The robe of the lost circle does not have an effect.

This is true , taking two things into consideration. One, the crippling faction hit, and Two the force needed to take down a lvl 61 monk. Aside from these, killing Quinn will get you the robe. I understand its about 50% drop rate.

killed him today w/ my 65 warrior and 65 druid bot healing. He hits in the high 300's, and hits pretty fast. Like your typical buffed up newbie guards, seems completely MR. He walks at around 15 pct health. I would estimate he has around 20-25K hp.

Today Brother Qwinn died. He is no slouch. It took a small raid to take him down. we had 2 groups of 4 with a tank in each group and 1 cleric in each group. Melee is the key here. Casters are of no use as far as DPS goes. He died fast and we had no casualties. Dropped robe, black headband and training tunic. He is up almost all the time in SK on Saryrn server. We have killed both monks in Rathe and SK, does anyone know if these two both still drop the robes? or do we have to waste time doing the quest.. Might be easier to waste time doing the quest though because these guys seem hard to spawn and are quite difficult, we got pwned the first time we tried.. second time he drop a black headband and a noob tunic.. Very MR so it must be mostly healing and meele to kill em//

Heya well after 2 days of killin giants and brother z'z phs i finnaly got him you need the idol from raster and the red sash of order he gives you the robe pattern he spawned on the side of the hg hill as a matter of fact all of his phs spawn on or near the hg hill

Dont waste your time doing the quest for this robe. All you need to do is kill Brother Zephyl (not sure about Qwinn) and he will drop the robe. A lot of people say that SOE nerfed it so that he no longer drops the robe, but just tonight while farming HGs for some cash I saw Bro Z runnin around but instead of wearing the basic wu armor that hes usually wearing he was wearing the robe of the lost circle. A bunch of high lvls in the zone grouped up with me and we took him down and he dropped the robe (yay), a torn training tunic, and a black headband. There were no faction hits, although he was pretty tough to kill! But lemme tell ya, its a lot better to kill him in 6 minutes and loot the robe than it is to quest the robe in I dunno, a couple months or less? Welp I cant wait to show my monk friend the robe and tell him how easy it was to get (hes been doing the quest for about a month straight now).

Yep he still drops it, dropped it for me anyway. It can be done with 1 or 2 groups of high 50s to 60s. He's a raid style mob so you need to use raid tactics on him, but he's pure melee. Other than that hope he drops it for ya (from what I hear it is a rare drop, but still drops nonetheless).

ok, heres how i completed this quest...
got my monk up to 40 and needed a place to lvl so my friend let me bot is lvl 58 cleric...so i went up to Solb and did some awsome lvling for a few days and go to 50...while in there i got targin and a few other minor loot items , was pretty fun too. After that i completed the red sash quest solo(obvioulsy it was really easy at 50) and bought purple headband for 1k. then i went to Lguk expecting to be there for many many many hours...WRONG i spent a total time of 6 hours and got a new bag for myself off evil-eye...was a fun camp also. ok, after i had all the stuff a guildy picked up the pet and i bought the spells then i went to RM to wait for Bro Z...this is the part that sucked for me, took me 2 nights of about 6-8 hours each to get him, i killed every PH too, guess just got unlucky! well i ran after him and hailed and hailed till he stopped...turned in and got my robe! now its a ***** getting the pipes for next robe...been having extremely bad luck with them...anyone reccomend a good way to get em without buying? that would be cool...
