I had one on my necro and I must have bought it back in 2002-2003ish closely before I retired from EQ. I have returned to playing EQ a few months ago, had this thing, noticed that it did not have a level requirement so I thought it might be of more value than the prices listed. I set it up on my trader for 100k because I really didnt want to sell it since i am notorious for making new alts and to my suprise it sold for that price.
I dont know what it is ,but there it must be a rarity for an Iskar to sew.........Took me 3 weeks on Stromm server just to get a link, and to more to Finally buy it at a crazy price
i have to agree, i never see iksar sewn items in baz on stromm. i DO see iksar smithed armor quite a bit, especially the new DoN stuff. ikky shammies and sk's rejoice!
This robe works pretty good for up to lvl 60 spells, Coldain military guard quest the ba3 item if you dont wanna pay 7-10 k for this robe. At least its free, but has druid stats on it. ceramic shackles of torment is good replacement for the robe when it becomes obsolete post 61 or 63 whenever it is when u stop using dots below lvl 60. Shackles pc are like 80-90 k on TM btw..
The increased damage affects all spells with a DoT effect, including the lifetap DoTs. Since we now get a message for DoT damage this is easy to see. However I don't know if it carries over to the amount of health transferred to self.
The "20% damage increase" is actually a random 1% to 20%, probably rounded down since at times there is no increase in the base damage (try casting a DoT with low damage, like Dooming Darkness).
Burning Affliction III is the correct focus for this item. The previous focus effect, Extended Affliction III, has been removed from the game (roughly in August?), and the new Burning Affliction replaced it.
Burning Affliction allows you to do more damage in a shorter period of time - at first, I did not like the change because I would stack up to seven dots on mobs while I solo'd, and now with less duration I could not stack as many. However, because all of my DoTs do more damage, I found that not only did I have roughly the same DPS, I could use LESS DoTS to do the same damage, freeing up spell slots. It also makes DoTs more useful in group and raid settings.
Of course, if you do your research, there are still a number of focus effects out there that extend the duration of DoTs. These focus effects can be stacked with Burning Affliction/Accursed Extension/Vengeance of Eternity/etc to do even MORE damage per cast.
Check out my magelo - IMHO, the focus effect on my helm makes it THE BEST item in the game for a shaman (+15% duration on EVERYTHING except our %heals and Charm spells I stopped casting around 32nd level).
Of course, in a good group, DoTs are still somewhat worthless. =(

Posted:Aug 10 2003 at 6:55 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) FYI .. a Chanter can change form to the specific race and do the Culturled Tailoring :) so since there is now chanters that can project Illusion .. then u know u can find any GM tailor and have a chanter Project Illusion so that they an make Culturled armor and stuff.
RE: PROJECT ILLSION works for Curturled Tayloring :)
You can't use illusions to fool cultural containers. Also, the racial robes, like this one, require a no drop pattern to make. The NPCs that give out these patterns only give them out if your character is of the right race... and they CAN'T be fooled by illusions.
Illusions don't work for cultural armor (created via blacksmithing) because the item that is "not being fooled" is the cultural forge in which you have to do your combines.
For example, in Kaladim, you cannot "open up" the Stormguard Forge unless you are truly a dorf.
For cultural tailoring, there is no special sewing kit required. So, it would appear that project illusion is indeed a loophole for cultural tailoring.

Um, WRONG. You were right when you said that you can't use illusions to fool cultural containers. The same principle applies here, essentially. Although this combine techinically isn't cultural tailoring, in the sense that it doesn't use a race specific container, only iksars can make this... because it requires a no drop pattern from an NPC that will not give out the pattern to non-iksar characters. And this NPC, like cultural trade containers, can NOT be fooled by illusions.
Most servers have at least one 250+ erudite tailor because their cultural armor is tailored:) Just ask around with the high lvl erudite pally/sk on server, given not all servers have many, if any that ever used Cultural armor.
This robe is Extended Affliction, not Affliction Efficiency.. Based on the description here, I went and had one made, only to see it had the same effect as my Coldain Military Wristguard.
Oh well, it has better stats and freed a slot up..
Dark elves get Aura of healing - 2Hp regen Euridites get Improved Damage III Gnomes -- -?? no idea High Elves get Reagent Preservation III Humans get Reagent Preservation III Iksar get Extended Affliction III
Over all the worst robes are High elves and Humans. I wonder how many Euridite Tailors are out there?
