killed crush 35 times it dropped twice, tunred it in for screaming mace quest

crush seems to spawn more often than the old days but he seems to thus drop the coat less
Good for SV stats

I looted this today from Emporer Crushbone. Isn't really worth selling at the going price, but is more valuable to keep as part of a second set of resistance armor, for those times when it's more beneficial to wear.

I was grouped with one scammer who, after winning it on a roll, tried to claim it was worth 400-500 and but would "give it away" for a MUCH lower valued item (a ring worth 90pp from another player). I started by ROFL and told him to take it to EC with that price.

Moral: make sure you know what you are looking at and know how to appraise items. If worse comes to worse at least /shout for PC.

When did that become scamming? Its a well known sport in EQ to buy low and sell high! that price was maybe a bit off the edge bit still...
And one more thing..i just cant understand why most servers have EC and Gfay as their main trade zone! On Saryrn every trade takes place in North Freeport! They have a bank, lots of places to hide for evil races and ppl dont come there if they r not trading so u dont bother anyone with spam!

you can make bunches o money with this tunic, there is always a few people in G-fay-R-Us that would want to buy it, on my mage, i kiled crush, took his tunic, sold it for 15p, then did it again to some chum for 28p, a week of killing all the orcs in the tower (including crush) i gained 2 levels and got myself 250p selling the bp. I know am high enough level and baught myelf good enough gear to tackle Unrest

i am lvl 39 ranger on sullon zek and i still wear
it ! it's perfect for PK as for any battles.

i had the sarnak tabard but prefered to keep this
one as there are a total of 24 magic points to
resistances !

even if the AC is not as good as some others
big armors like rygor, dusty or sarnak.

I am a gnome warrior and if you call me a midgit again or midgit sized again, I'll kick your tall Erduite ***. I deleveled my gnome warrior back down to level 16 again, he was at level 20, but well he still uses a dwarven ringmail tunic, with some good hitpoint and resist gear, let's just put it this way, for a level 16 gnome warrior at about any given time, he has about 300-350 more hitpoints then he should have, and sometimes more extra hitpoints than that and I've also found if Tinyfist wears certain armor and levels and then delevels, his ac is raised substantly more then it would have been if he would have just leveled normally.
this is nice if u don't have a sorce of income
# Jan 18 2002 at 3:09 AM Rating: Decent
PVP wise if u r SHORT (elf or migit sized like dwarves gnomes and halfings) and don't have a whole lot of cash this is sweet. DRT has saves for magic (HAHA u caster u can't root me) fire ( haha u caster u can't nuke me) and cold (haha mr caster u can't nuke me) for the low low price of 22plat or so! Cant Crush king crush? well kill legos and get 11 lego pads sell em @ 2p a pop and DRT here u come!

but....if u do have the cash BRIG tunic and Bloodstanie mantle are the way to go.

Unfortunately, at the level you can obtain this, most mobs you are going to face aren't going to be trying to cast on you, and Banded offers more AC, which can be bought for less.

However!!!, on PvP servers, it's a different story... I'm sure all the PvP players out there know how important resists are in their everyday life.

I enjoy the idea of PvP, kinda disheartens me when a High Elven Pally asks me to partner with him (Iksar ShadowKnight)... but I just couldn't deal with all the jerks that take advantage of PvP, and the fact that I may be missing out on meeting some nice people...

G'day all,

Yesterday I traded a AC16 Blackened Alloy Mail whose price's about 65 PP for this DRT to beef up my resistances.

Quite a fair bargain ar as I'm concerned: losing 4 AC is really no big deal (I've been fighting with a 2HS or 1HS & AC15 shield and didn't notice any significant improvement), but gaining 8 in major resistances is really worth it, YMMV.

Killed Crush 3 times myself after that with the help of a lvl 35 Cleric buffing/healing me, but the git wouldn't drop the tunic again :-(

It's a lot like the Stein of Moggok. Great stats, but it's so common and easy to get it sells for practically nothing.

This is a decent low level chest piece that are virtually handed out to anyone level 6 or higher. Just be in CB, there is usually a group in the throne room and there is always someone camping Dvinn, they will kill crush too. Unless they are gnomes or wizards they will probably give away the tunic because it drops so often. Ask them to hold it for ya and run up there (get invis if you can) and get it.
I got ripped off...
# Jun 26 2001 at 11:45 AM Rating: Default
Being the newbie that I am, I thought 80PP was a fair price, and i ended up buying it. Soon after that I got banded mail for free, so i sold it for 12PP. Man, being a newbie sucks.
RE: I got ripped off...
# Jul 16 2001 at 1:28 AM Rating: Decent
Well yes in a way you did, but I am a bit confused as to why you want to wear banded mail over this? I mean...3 more ac on banded to give up +8 to three MAJOR resistances? Personally, i'd have stuck with this..but everyone has their opinions :)

The reason is that at that level, AC is more important than resists. There are caster mobs out there, but there are still way more melees, and 8 resist to those 3 stats won't save your life. Getting hit less just might. When you get to raid levels (or PvP) resists are key. Until you KNOW you are going up against a bunch of caster type mobs, or some nasty AoE, AC is still king in my opinion. It just isn't worth losing a bunch of AC for resists in everyday play, unless you are sure you are going to face some nasty casters.

Never wore this as I always had something else to wear but found it dropped on Crush after someone had killed him, picked it up, gave it to a friend and he wore it for a long time. He sold it for 15pp eventually.

wow, a shaman can use it....

Yeah probably gnomish shaman.

Really need to narrow down these class and races to fit each other.
RE: A SHAMMY!
# May 16 2001 at 2:01 PM Rating: Decent
actually, it might make sense after a while. if you look at the wood elf's stats you'd see that they would make great shamans, so I'm hoping that they are planning to add wood elf shamans in one of verants next expansions. if they do, I'm starting one.;)

Wood Elf already has a priest class. Druid. They don't need shaman.

It's highly unlikely that the wood elf race would ever become shamanistic (Beastmaster, maybe) because a race either has a druid, a shaman, or a cleric in it. Barbaric societies have shaman, nature races have druid, and "high" societies have cleric. The only possible exception I can think of would be humans and that's only if they can be druids. Stats aside, I don't believe it makes sense for the wood elf culture to have a shaman class. Humans, on the other hand, could and possibly should have shaman as a clerical option (due to the fact that humans are so versatile).

But, (thank goodness) humans aren't "spiritual" enough to be shamans (i.e. not in touch with their spiritual side enough)

I used this armor until level 16 with my wood elf Ranger, when I bought Sarnark Emblazened Taberd. The Dwarven Ringmail is great for attacking casters and it has good AC on it for lower levels. If you are playing on a PvP server I'd recommend getting into this ASAP. Usually sold for about 25pp on Vazaelle though I've seen it go as high 50pp when someone needs it bad enough. GFay is the best place to look for it, as Crushbone entrance is in that zone.

No half elf can wear it

Half Elf can't wear the Dwarven ringmail tunic.

The reason is that Half elves, being half men are a little bigger than other elves. They can only wear medium sized chest items.

nohky

[edited to take the response into account. I will try my half elf to wear small banded for arms or legs]
RE: No half elf can wear it
# Jun 07 2001 at 8:08 PM Rating: Decent
You are right about one thing. Half elves can't where the Dwarven ringmail tunic, but half elves body is the only mediam on them. The arms head hands legs and feet are all small.

Half Elves wear medium size armor. DRT is small size. Full blooded elves can wear it because they can wear small and medium size armors. Half Elves can only wear medium.
