Been camping this zone with a friend for exp and decent loot per our level (low 50's). Anyways just got the final symbol from the hardest boat. Kinda disapointed to find I can't even do this quest unless I kill greens for about 3 or 4 hours, and I just don't feel like doing that for the reward I will get. Needless to say in this day and age my range item is ALOT better then that. I am sure it was good for the time, but I think they should have made this doable by ALL races and ALL classes, not just those who have good faction with Paineel (which BTW is not alot). HYEck I am a evil necro and still hated there!
Does it help faction?

I am looking to increase my merchant faction in Paineel so I can buy Hole Keys.

Fight smarter not harder.

If you're looking for faction go to the warrens and slaughter kobolds. Get a few backpacks full of molars and turn them in for more faction. At level 20 it took my sk about 4 hours of killing kobolds to get from threatening to indifferent. After turning in the molars I went to ally.
Pretty darned rare If I do say so myself

I've been hunting in Dulak for a few levels and I saw the Dirulia Insignia last night for the first time. I've probably killed over 400+ mobs there so I don't trust the whole 1/15 idea. I usually hunt on Lady D and that's where it dropped. Maybe I am just totally unlucky or something :)

Good luck Questors!

The two statements of a 1 in 15 drop and having camped 400+ mobs and not having one drop, are of no direct statistical consequence in their relationship.

Just means you've been extremely unlucky in that in all of your 400+ chance randomizations (ie. dice throws), you've hit the 14 in 15 chance of not having a drop instead of the 1 in 15 of having one.

Sorry =)

Every now and then I camp the boats in Dulak. Tonight I was campin Stormy, pulled all 8 mobs (with my druid)...3 insignias dropped. I also spend a bit of time campin near Dando and Oceancrasher ramps. Mobs here seem to drop em quite often.
Now Recommended Level 40

Did this for my 19 Bard alt (one of my many), the CHA, mana, and hp are nice, and the saves just make it better =)Used my 65 Mage for the insignia drops, was quite fun, took a couple hrs at most...

Seems like this was intended to be a charm, as most every other starting city has a charm quest related to LoY.

As a ranged slot item, this isn't exactly hot stuff, especially considering you'd be in a lot of danger in LoY at level 30 or so.

As a charm, though, this would absolutely rock. Would probably be Int-based, since it comes from Erudin... /sigh

I'm not getting the being in danger at lvl 30 part... what's lvl 30 have to do w/ this quest?
Anyway, even as a ranged item, I'm looking forward to finishing this quest... as posted elsewhere, this is a very nice item for a bard. I'm doing this for my lvl 57 bard, and the item will be a nice replacement for my razor fungus claw.
The quest does take a while to complete (if you're not an incredible dps class like a 65 mage-g-), but range items w/ stats that nice aren't cheap either.
Good luck all! The insignia drop off any mob on the ship, and seem to drop about every 1/15 kills.
