Just an FYI.... You can't do this quest until your research ability is at 100 plus.

It may be due to the fact that they are personal zones, so runes aren't spread out like they would be in lets say OT, but I seem to have luck with runes in LDoN zones. Takish-Hiz(sp?) never lets me down, now if I could only win there for once.:P

Researcher is found in one of the hoods near the tower where you zone in.

Can anyone tell me how to get to Gunthak and find Researcher Alvarik (what is his Loc). Are there any dangers of which I need to be aware?

They are random off smobs usually spell casters of level 50 or so and up I got Rune of Ellipse or something like that off named wurm in BW
