It's the melee's reward for completing the Luggald Flesh / Fecund Flesh quest givin out by "Flesh Weaver whatshisface" in Neriak Commons. He stands at the base of the waterfall near the POD.

The good version, Bonebite, was initially 1hs as well, but was quite properly changed to pierce. Likely this will also. Its a pretty sweet piercer for a Rogue. 0.1 ratio slower than our Epic, even (well, Epic DOES have Haste and 2 raw dmg better, but this is a great weapon pre-epic).
This reward is completely useless to either of the non-dual wield classes. Paladins and shadowknights should either get the ring, a 2H weapon, or a 1H weapon with a ratio comparable to other PAL/SHD 1H weapons.
This weapon is NOT useless for a Paladin or SK. Use this when a fight starts, get the proc landed, then bag it for your main weapon. When the proc wears off, bring it out and land it again, and switch back to your main weap. 20HP per tick isn't a lot, but it is added DPS, and that matters.
The first poster was quite correct. It is useless for knights (and in fact, the ring is much nicer than the weapon). 13/23 is crap when you can buy a 21/24 weapon for only a few hundred plat( mace of the fallen crusader)
I just got one last night with my bard. I'ts pretty horrible for a bard weapon, I was hoping for a better result. I'd kill for the caster ring that results from the same quest, but ahh well.
It is definatly piercing now, looks like a fat short dagger.
actually I just double checked, It's still slashing, and paladin can still use it. There are a few other paladin 1 handed pokers in the game, I wonder if it will get changed. I just wish we could turn this pretty lame weapon in for a ring similair to the caster ring. Either that, or make the bane luggald +8 or +9 so it's a nice situational weapon.
Yea, after seeing the Caster loot from this quest it does seem quite lopsided. Thats a kickass ring and this is a very mediochre weapon. Not even worth it if you ask me.

Hmm quest items are no-drop, the result item is no-drop and you have to hand them into an npc in neriak - why is this item set as usable by paladins, rangers, bards, and beastlords if they cant even do the quest? (and yes I know you can use the new race essence potions to cast illusion dark elf, but unless you are agnostic you'll very likely get thumped :P
the quest giver is right on the commons foriegn quarter zoneline so you invis your way through and then do what ya need if aggroed zone out in like 2 seconds and the only thing near zone is this npc and she is not kos to my human r
The Neriak Commons area is relatively safe provided you don't zone deeper into Neriak. I tried exploring it once with my newly acquired Guise of the Deceiver and discovered that the guards can detect your religion and will kill you if you're a Mithaniel Marr worshipper.
Personally I've always felt that no NPC should be able to tell what religion you are when you're disguised unless they cast some kind of detection spell on you. Apparently it's obvious to all NPCs who you worship, what have I got an double-M branded on my forehead or something?
