I hope the odds of getting a pristine carapace are better than in the "Changed in the last patch" listing. I have a lv8 dwarf warrior who has acquired the boots and helm, but I don't want to have to kill hundreds of the mf's to get one good carapace. That's insane. I also hope that BB doesn't become the new carnage site of higher levels who want to make a quick buck. It's rather irritating trying to get an item for yourself when people camp different areas and hoard the items that they only wish to sell in the first place. It's not even so bad if a player wants to sell a few things, but when a person has gone through a rare item countless times it can be discouraging to others. Yes... irritating. I suppose that's the way of life though. Some people have a tendency to be a bit greedy.
Sorry I bi***ed so much.
I guess I just wish there were more roleplayers.

This item used to be 8AC, +1Sta, -1Cha, but it was changed in a recent patch (don't remember exact date, as I try to forget bad things happening, like deaths in the family, and patch dates...) 8 ) No, seriously, it was changed in a recent patch, and is a lot better now. If you want the pristine scarab carapaces, your best bet is Unrest, as the death beetles also drop other good loot, along with the same RARE chance of dropping the carapace needed. I have looted 3 total carapaces, 1 off a giant scarab in BBM, and 2 off of death beetles in Unrest. But I have killed probably 200 in BBM, and 300 in Unrest. Plus the death beetles are more common in Unrest than other scarab types. Druids CAN wear this, but only HFLs, as only small races can wear it. And the NPC's name is Vacto Molunel, at the front of the warrior's guild in Kaladim. Looks like green plate, no matter what you are. Good Hunting!

Yeah, this quest used to not be worth doing. 8ac +1 sta -1 cha? This thing sucked! Thanks for changing it Verant! Not that Im dropping my Cured Tizmak for this anytime soon, though.

druids can wear insect shell armors, it is not actually plate. Like the brown chitin protector and blk chitin leggs.

I just had the smith make me one of these breastplates and it is ac 14 +1 STA -1 DEX +1 STR +10 HP. I guess it got changed in a patch since this posting.

I'll third that and add that it also has +2 sv desease. I just got mine the same day as the patch.
Which makes it easier and nicer than the bloodforge chest armor! I sense a new wave of Christmas Dwarves running around. I.E. green boots, maybe helm, and BP with red leggings, arms, etc.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone elseabout the stat's but at laest it looks more fationable than my uthrok tunic and though i lose 3 wis I have a wisdom of 202 still without it, i like the green plate look better.

A split paw tunic is also a helluva lot harder to get. Let's see, travel to zone filled with 20's and 30's mobs and fight for a SPT and then have to roll against your group mates to see who gets it or run around killing yard trash in a newbie zone to do quest turn in? Small scarab BP wins.

It is simply meant to be used by all classes except pure casteds (necro wiz ench mage). Faster way of doing things by the always lazy Verant.
