I can't remember exactly what mob drops this but I've gotten 2 of them in the room immediately at the castle zone in. Both times it dropped suprised me because there was nothing different about the mob I killed and didn't even notice if it was named or cloister. Just camp the castle zone in and you should get it along with darkwater pearl ring from the cloister.

What mob drops these vambraces? Is it random by any mobs in the zone or just cloister sentinel?
Looks

On my halfling warrior those look a slightly lighter shade of blue than the Cobalt Vambraces, and they have the same Shoulder Pads / Plate look than Cobalt.

We were a level 60 Pally, 52 Warrior (me) and 50 ish Cleric, pulling at the entrance from the castle side zone.

Nothing worse than to see casters rolling on melee items or melee rolling on caster items...

I generally only play in NBG groups. Infact, Its extremely rare that I am in a group that its not assumed... and in that rare case, its some greedy little kids toon. Anyway, NBG is pretty simple. Either its an upgrade for a toon in the group, or its not. If its not, then the item is gravy and everyone can roll, regardless of class. We are all going to either twink an alt that can use it, or sell it. So, what would be the difference between a caster rolling on gravied vampbraces or a Mele?

Well, I agree that if there is someone in the looting party that could use it as an upgrade, that is all good and well and they should be the only ones rolling on it in that case in most situations.

But there are also many times when it is totally appropriate for a caster to roll on melee gear and vice versa. When no one in the party can actually see the drop as an upgrade then everyone is rolling to twink an alt. My main is a mage but my primary alt is an SK and I'm always looking out for stuff for him.

Or take the situation I have been in way too many times where you are in a pickup group and it just so happens that there's a ninja looting *******(s) in that group. As a caster, you're medding most of the time and if the melees don't give you a chance to loot, then you are just SOL. Sooo, when something comes up nice enough that the concensus is that it needs to be rolled on, you bet I'm rolling on it no matter what it is. Everyone else should too in that kind of situation.

Pardon this ranting example, <rant> but I was in a great group on the Top Shelf in Velk's. All was good except for this ranger who was the ninja looting-est jackass I have ever seen. He wouldn't let anyone really get a chance to loot, not even other melees, the casters didn't stand a chance anyway. I normally just leave groups like that but in this case the Top Shelf is hard to get and that's where several good items drop and the xp was good so I put up with it. In the 2 hours I was grouped with him he probably looted easily 2k worth of velium whilst the rest of us got basically squat because regular spiders in Velk's don't drop much else except crystalline silk. He looted so much velium that he had to zone out to offload it all on alts 3 times in 2 hours!!! You bet I rolled on the Silver Chitin Hand Wraps and the Crystal Spider Eyes when they dropped.
</rant>

Back to the point, especially for those of us in smaller guilds that can't assemble large forces and therefore rarely can survive in zones where we would get drops that we could actually use at our level (due to the way the high end game is structured nowadays) since we have bought better than what we could get adventuring in the bazaar just to stay alive and competitive.

But this seems to be changing with LoY thank gods. Our small guild parties have come across many nice items that actually have been upgrades to our current equipment. Even when soloing in these new zones my mage has picked up some pretty decent stuff on his own. How refreshing. Can I get an AMEN?

Amen! I hate ninja looters. If they have to leave to unload and no one else has anywhere near enough to unload, they get dropped on their way out if I'm the leader of the group. I don't mind if they fill up, then hang around while everyone else fills up, but don't go unload just to do it all over again while everyone else is missing out.
Fun thing to do, wait until they zone back in, then give them time to get about halfway up, then drop em from the group. When they send you a tell asking what's up, tell them the truth.

guild mate got these last night
# Mar 11 2003 at 8:02 PM Rating: Decent
Late last night a few guild mates (me, lvl 47 bst, 56 mage, 55 ranger, 54 pally, a 56 SK, and a 49 necro) and our mage suggested that we try nadox since we were right at the zone ent, so we all SoWed up and zoned in. We were pulling to the zone ent, just to be safe. about 20 min in, our SK pulls a broken skull acolyte (red to me of course), and a broken skull initiate (yellow to me) and once they were all dead and had the skin burned off them, (thanks to the necro) these sleeves dropped. seed was set at 1000, we all rolled and to all our misfortune, THE MAGE WON! lucky for him he has a shammy alt, otherwise we wouldve taken him down for them, hehe. these are nice sleeves, havent seen what they look like when worn though, i'll post that later.
