#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 15 2004 at 7:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Great for bards, seeing that they only get dual wield you should have a good primary weapon and a nice offhand weapon with a benefit proc.
nice weapon

As far as classes go i would scratch the pally/sk--the bsts, rangers and bards are what i think would go for this weapon. Mainly because monks do a hell more dps with 2hb with that aa they get, and rogues i would think preferr stabbing weapons. Imo this is a hell of a weapon and baby when it drops for my beast...you get betcha that im gonna bid major dkp for it to.

A lot of times people post on these websites and they havent had the experience of being in an Elemental guild. They will generally suggest what class should take this item without considering the most important issue... The empowerment of the Guild and not just the character itself.

This weapon will probably be the dps weapon for some of the classes listed so i will give you the order in which i would recommend.

1. Rogue, far and away the best dps with this weapon equipped in offhand.

2. Ranger, they're not to far behind the rogue with this weapon and it should match or better than their bow dps.

3. Warrior, they can dps and generally they dont want agro all the time sometimes they have to drop their BoW if there is another MT in the rotation like xegony for example where your gonna have to rotate tanks once in a while.

4. Slap her on a bard. there is a couple of mod weapons around but this is pretty much the best dps weapon available too them prior to time. considering bards can only duel weild they were close to being first on my list.

I would exclude monks, bst's, sk's, paladins from this list. it would be a shame to see one of these weapons get banked because a lower tier weapon dropped for one of those classes thats better dps than this. meanwhile the previous listed classes can only dream about recieving this weapon. this is pretty much the best weapon available for the listed classes prior to time.

I find it very hard to belive you played a 65 rogue unless ya bought it off ebay. Cause if ya did youd know the offhand has nothing to do with double backstab as its based on double attack from the mainhand.

Amen brother.

Even a 65 druid knows that the second a rogue gets duel wield they should be doing piercing in primary and 1hb in secondary. I don't know the specifics but I do know that the best rogue DPS comes out of having a blunt weapon in secondary. Maybe it just has to do with the blunt weapons that are out there.
not for wars?

to the person that said this would suck for a warrior.......your crazy, this would be an awsome warrior weapon...even if he has boc and BF or hategiver or what ever. sure they all keep agro a tad better ( dont get me wrong, this would still hold exelent agro ) but what about in small elemental grps or soloing even or helping friends, all where your dps can really matter. this would almost dubble it. ALL classes that can use something and it is an upgrade for them SHOULD be able to use dkp or roll for them....not to mention all the other classes get WAY better weapons that are easyer to get, better damage output and just about everything you can think of, warriors shouldnt be though of as a class that should only get items that help him hold agro or tank better. we are not slaves here, sure we will tank for you and like doing it, but fkin i dont want to have 4 years of play time or what ever and still not be able to solo a black reaver for a friends epic....even if i am the best tank around.

As a monk, I would give this to one of the other classes out there. We already have a bunch of 17 19s, a 18 20, and a 20 19. This is the best weapon for dual wielders out there so far...I wouldn't give this to a SK/pally either.

If you go to Afterlife website you will see that Biny won this. Or check out her magelo profile, number is 666. This is an amazing monk weapon, what class wouldn't want this?

Ugh...

Get into your 60's. Get into a top tier raiding guild that either works on merit or DKP. Hopefully DKP. If this dropped, and you didn't bid on it? More chance for me.

A monk.

I understand what Rokken said, and I don't completely disagree with it. Still, that wouldn't stop me from bidding on it. (What will stop me is that I play a cleric.)

My point was, how many 18 20s+ are there for the other classes? (scratch pal/shd) This is so far the best weapon out there for dual wielders besides monks, so my point was not drop out of the running, but if you have close to this wep already and someone else has a 15 20 or something similar let them have it over you.

"how many 18 20s+ are there for the other classes?"

Well, the other dual wielding classes being ...

Beastlord: They can use all the same weapons monks do.

Warriors: They can use Stone Etched Mallet. They can also use Blade of War and Stone Etched Warsword, decent 2handers.

Rogues: Well, rogues tend to favor piercers, like Ifir.

Bards: I'm not too familiar with bards, but don't they get really good weapons in the elemental planes too?

Rangers: I really don't know what they wield anymore. I quit paying attention to ranger weapons awhile ago. I'm sure this weapon would be good for them just like it'd be good for anyone else interested in it.

Why wouldn't a monk put in for this? Odds are the guild's warriors are jockeying for Blades of War still or Stone Etched Warsword or some other such thingie. The guild's rogues are all competing for piercers.

It all comes down to monks, beastlords, bards and RANGERS. What's the big deal?

SEM for warriors suck. Every war with one will tell ya.

Bst / Mnk already have the Jiva 2hb by now. It drops like hot cakes in Sol Ro and about 1 million times easier to obtain. Hell of alot better ratio.

Rog same thing, if you have done sol ro (obviously if your EP) then chances are they are using a Gold Runed Mithril Knife..if not then your using something a Gleaming Obsidian Shard or how about a Ifir, Dagger of Fire from Fen Ro. Trust me rog's have a nice selection.

Don't even let me begin listing weapons for rangers...there are so many. Its just not worth it.

Bards...well...Its a strange story for them. An yes bards are very concerned with their dps. B/c to be honest they got the shaft on the melee end of the stick. I could very much see a bard wanting this for offhand.

Pal/SK they'll already have 100 times better. Think about it, Ornate Greatblade alone comes from a mini in pofire. Or the Flame Knight Lance from a mini in Sol Ro. Or the Basalt Sword from there as well. Pallys will opt on on this, same for sks.

Now to be honest and this is not a my class is better your class blah blah. Cause honestly i could give a **** less about that. But when you ACTUALLY look at what a warrior is using. Most likely it'll be a BoC and some other procing weapon. Now I don't see this weapon really going to a warrior unless the guild was full of warriors who never saw the light of any tanking. Either way though, I'd say out of all the classes in the game for melee weapons. Warriors get the short end of the stick. Even back to the days of when Tox axes were ranger ubah items warriors were running around going bling bling check out my Lammy!

Now IMO no class deserves this..none... the player deserves it. Who ever has the Keen Edged Cleaver from SSRA or something around those lines (god for bid not) Deserves it as a clean upgrade...

BUT

Who runs around with Keen edged cleavers that are EP. By now I'm sure almost everyone has seen atleast 2 chances they could of scored a decent upgrade.

So...This item goes to the person dishin out the DKP on it. If you got the DKP then you deserve it. You are attending doing your part. What makes the monk who never logs on except for big raids the likely Oh let em have it choice for the raid..?
Good Grief...

Best 1hb in the game? Sure looks like to me. I'm looking forward to reading about the encounter with the Avatar of Water.
