I could take a dump, put the results on a chain, and have a better charm than this. And this comes from a 50+ zone ?!?!

Negative, it works in any zone.

I just looted one today, Thursday July 29 off of Fitzgerald. It's droppable... I gave it to my level 1 monk, it has a required level of 30 like always. Maybe it's a bug?

This charm will most likley have a bad effect on social people.

P.S- Don't go into Bazaar wearing this. It could very well explode.

i'd like to get this for tradeskills like smithing and pottery. (where you pretty much have to be in a town to do it) as a dark elf, the record ive ever seen in the same zone as me was like 3 other people i think maybe 4 but certainly not that much more neriak is usually empty. i imagine there are a few other cities like that as well. not so good if your from freeport or qeynos as they're usually low chars fighting around the gates. definately not good if you're kelethin. but most other cities i would imagane to be quite empty on average so and additional 6 or 4 points of wis or int would sure be nice when working on my smithing that never seems to skill up.

Got one for my 26 necro, though he can't use it for 4 more levels, bit of an adventure for him to get it though, cleared in on my druid and killed Cabin Gnome, then camped, and started running my necro from Dulak (where I was getting him components for the Signet of Grisk quest, and a couple things for his spell quests later on), but when I got to Hatesfury, the undead guy at the top of the first stairs had repopped, so I had to log druid back on and kill that undead, then when i went running in to loot the charm on my necro, the ex-pet was bugged and saw invis, but fortunately was still snared, so I ran in and looted and cast FD. waited a few minutes, the rat wandered off, so I stood up and reinvised (yay for prenerf CoS)... then as soon as i get to the top of the steps in the second room... 3 rats agro me... fek... so I bend over and die, then spend 30 minutes running back from pok :p
RE: Whee
# Dec 02 2005 at 2:01 AM Rating: Decent
Ummm silly question but why didn't the druid loot it?

It isn't no drop.

Just hand it off to the necro in PoK or something.

Or did I miss something?

With LDoN comming out with instanced dungeons, this item looks pretty good. Granted, not as good as if you solod a deserted zone, but still, not too shabby, considering you'll get the next to best stats no matter what.

There should be SOME hint as to what stats are affected when you see the item on the corpse, but there aren't....glad there was a 30 min timer on corpse so I could come here and check the stats

This thing would be great for necros. I know that on my old necro (around 40ish) I was always soloing in zones that were lightly populated. And this is a good move by sony to utilize other zones that arent really used anymore. There are some really cool places if you just go look.

Not a chance. None, nada, zip, zero.

At the very least you would need a full group of 50+ who are all twinked to heck by a guild of 65's

We do this zone often, and the whole group is 57-62. We dont have many problems.

Our typical group is
59+ tank
62 Shammy
61 cleric
60 Wiz
61 Chanter
59+ whatever

We for the most part own the zone, but from time to time get in a SLIGHTY tight spot.

Not true!! Can be soloed. Just soloed this mob today using undead charm on the undead that spawns accross room. Charm, haste pet, attack mob, dump dots, over in like 45 secs! If charm breaks then FD/DeathPeace on the stairway and try again. Real easy.

Lower Guk always has 8-12 people in it, except during the really odd hours...

1/4 are Paladins, 1/4 are Necros (both solo well here), 1/8 are people looking for the "cash camps" (Runed Cowl, SMR & FBSS still sell semi-decently) & 3/8 are people still doing faction work for that crown quest.

Not everyone wants to group. in fact i created an entire guild of solo players that get together only for uber gear raids quests & our epic's. I have 8 alts 3 over 50 & the rest over 30 & i have never grouped for exp so thank you SOE for allowing me to be who i am & even giving me items like this to assist me in my noble cause. Ok if i understand well : U have to be Alone in All Zone to have charm working better.

So, We go loot this charm, then look up wich zone are usually empty and open for solo, but as long we all (who want use this charm) will be probably over lvl 50 so, we'll head to "same zones" there is Not a Ton of Empty zone open for good safe solo... so we'll probably not be so "alone" in zone...

/Feedback Plz make a Guard-register for "charm-using" Whole zone registration. Thank you.

LMAO! that was pretty funny. however, i do a lot of soloing myself. i'm a member of a wonderful guild with a lot of great ppl who help out in a bind without question. we all drop everything to come to each other's aid, but at the same time, we don't feel it necessary to be up in each other's face all the time. i do know that when it comes time to start an epic quest, it's almost impossible to do alone so i'm thankful for my guild family. happy hunting! :)

Huummmm, his post average 4.88 and you guys are somewhere in the basement keeping each other company. You know, not everybody is willing too sell their fanny's too a ubur guild just so they can wear that nice robe, and some of the people that play this game actualy do have a life beyond EQ. I am GL for a Guild for soloers that don't care for the tactics and demands of most ubur guilds and we get by and enjoy our games just as much if not better then most of the people in those ubur guilds do. Know why guys? Cause most of those ubur guilds are run for the benefit of a small group of people that got nothing else too do in life except play EQ 16 to 20 hours a day and at the expense of most of their members. Thats why 90 percent of the people that join guilds like EoD and Kupo and Wreckers don't stick, not cause their gimps, because its a select few lording it over and taking advantage of them many that were naive enough too think there was something there for them too begin with. So LMAO too children.

dumb
# Feb 27 2003 at 12:01 PM Rating: Default
This is a really dumb item. Way to encourage soloing, Sony! Here we are trying desperately to find ways to group, plus you give us that LFG tool to help that... then we get this piece of ****?

This thing will encourage more and more druids to go off and solo when they could be contributing to a group and healing my candy ***.
RE: dumb

Not to mention the fact that druids shouldnt be your main healer at the lvl to attain this ;)

RE: dumb
# Mar 05 2003 at 3:28 PM Rating: Decent
How about this one... all those classes that quad kite (or worse) and occasionally take their trains to zone or bump them off on a warrior about to get CH (low health sure does draw attention) may choose to move to those zones groups normally don't gather. Thus, less petitions on the training quaders, less work for the GMs, less ruffled player feathers. Great for those druids/wizards/bards (to name a few the stats are nice for) who want to go AA by themselves for awhile. Not to mention the fear kiters... heehee. I am an avid climber/explorer and as such I have seen nearly every zone my lvl (54) allows me to go alone too(and many I couldn't touch a mob alone in), and believe me, there are tons of zones, on Xev at least, that are often quite free of players. This is a very intelligent item. Bonuses for having just your group (6 people) are still very nice. Kudos
RE: dumb
# Mar 04 2003 at 10:34 AM Rating: Decent
This is a bonus for those that are having problems finding a group, not to encourage people to go solo. Think positively man!
RE: dumb
# Feb 27 2003 at 12:13 PM Rating: Decent
Jesus Christ, how do you wake up in the morning without hurting yourself? This encourages players to friggin disperse all over the game rather cram into the same dungeons for XP. This is one of the smarter moves by Sony lately.
RE: dumb
# Feb 27 2003 at 3:01 PM Rating: Default
I agree with ya'. I was just thinking if the stats posted on the other messages are accurate then it would be a great item for my mage, and it would definitely encourage me to get my gnome rear out of soloing in PoJ and find other places less populated, and in turn help the people in there that were grouping.

Just mho.

According to "The Steel Warriors"
The stats for this charm are
Sta: +4, Wis: +4, Int +4, HP: +15, Mana: +22 Fire: +7

However, that is with 6 people or less in the zone, and the stats deminish when more are there. I'd say the pic above is with a lot of people in the zone, or the person holding it did not zone prior to taking the pic.

Edited, Wed Feb 26 18:15:29 2003
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 27 2003 at 2:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I suspect that pic is from somebody who doesn't actually possess the charm - that's what it looks like if you just hit the link for a charm rather than actually have it.
RE: Stats

Actually when LoY first came out the charms were bugged and I believe that is why the charm appears to have no stats. However I'm fairly sure they fixed that bug now.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 26 2003 at 5:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Humm i think yall need a dictionary because solitude basically boils down to one thing the act of being lonely. To me this is a no nonsense item that has no purpose....

Solitude is the state of being ALONE, not LONELY. YOU need to read a dictionary. Alone (solitude) is an objective state, either you are, or you aren't. Lonely is a subjective emotion, you can be lonely when you are not alone, and alone yet not lonely.
