earing 500pp on rallos zek,maybe cause its pvp server? all i know is for 4k i have gotten an sbs and a moss for that much( is pricing that much different on servers?

Hmm, 39 necro on lanys tval here. Whats with trying to flame each other, read, THINK, and KNOW what the person is talking about before lighting the fire. As of right now, I myself would pay up to 100p for this item, mainly cause I'm not raiding and whatnot yet, but, I can also see paying more then 3k just to get the best ear resist gear around. For those of you who know Qeynos area, go check out Tovax Vmar, now this only works up to lvl 12 or 14 or so. Ok you see Tovax, now attack him, hmm, pet aggroes no biggie, OH CRAP, why am i WALKING away? read the message, DOH, you have been feared. hmm, now if he dropped, oh say 500p and some super uber stuff, would it be worth it to you to get an earing that reduces his chances of winning?

For mos t of you who think this Earring of Essence isn't worth the plat, you haven't ran arcossed guys like Gorenaire (who drops the "cloak of Flames") very desired item. Gore just happens to snare and FEAR. In cases like that.. YOU'LL BEG FOR MR. Especialy once you get snared and feared and beaten to death because you can't resist the spells casted.. then you're just helpless as you can't move no where but the direction fear points you. Ohh and don't think you won't get feared a second time. Tanks don't stand a chance in a situation like those with out good "MR". Then again no one does without the MR. Sometimes it's easier to raid (being properly equipt)for what you look for rather then run around buying 30Kpp items.. But if ac is what tickles your fancy...Stay away from casters and keep with cheap loot.. My only advice to you.... /cheer to all you ac lovers who don't understand SV's..

Gorenaire the ICE dragon does not drop the cloak of flames. the Cloak of Flames drop of such fire dragons as Lord Nagafen, Ragefire and the big fire elemental in BW Ixblat. sorry but if our going to flame someone be prepared to be flamed right back.

All the Kunark Dragons have a chance to drop the cloak of flames.

I bought one of these yesterday, figured that I could keep it for a while and use it when the need came to get my MR up (was level 32 at the time). I payed 100pp for it. Checked here, saw what it was worth, and hit EC. Within a day, I traded it for another Blood Ember bracer. I was very lucky that day...

If you guys think this is junk, then you're obviously too low to appreciate it. The 50+ game is all about RESISTS. Your stats mean exactly squat. Resisting a 500pt AoE blast from Faydedar is a bit more useful than a measily 5ac and/or a couple stats. This item has amazing MR and a good HP modifier.
For those who can't appreciate this, you also don't understand about RESIST GEAR. You put this earring on when you need to boost your MR, you possibly take it off and put on your AC/HP earring when fighting melee mobs.
What server your own is irrelevant, resist gear is mandatory for everyone.

What server you play on does make a differnce in that if you play pvp SVM is important for all levels. There's nothing sweeter than seeing you resist the ensnare spell 4 times as your being chased out of gfay by some crazy high level ranger :)

I actually found this item by doing a search for MR items for the Nag run I'm doing tonight. As a druid (i.e. no hit points), I'd much rather run in with my base wisdom of 115 and have 150 MR and FR than have 200 wisdom and resists too low to help me against Nag's AoE DD and fear spells. 200 wis doesn't do much good if I'm dead before I can even cast anything.
My advice if you loot this is to bank it, and keep it for a time when resists are an issue. The importance of traditional stats decreases greatly when you get to be a high enough level to kill the big mobs.

i once kicked a jellyfish in the head (at least i think it was the head i couldnt tell) it looked really funny. If ur asking what does this have to do with this earring i honestly have no clue

I'm 54 and lots of the high-end raids my guild goes on require very high resists just to survive. magic resist is most important of all resists, especially for dragons, because being able to resist their AE Fear is half the challenge =)

This earring is HIGHLY sought after on PvP servers. I would love to see a Bluebee run around Rallos with all the AC, Stat, and HP gear on. With out Resist gear, you're DEAD.

i don't know what u know about eq but as a 47 cleric i would pay 3k for it on a non pvp server. my wisdom is 200 with no earings and 10 mr is exactly what i am looking for and this earing has the higest mr of any earing

If this is crap loot, someone name ANOTHER +10 SV magic earring that drops off a mob in the 30's.
I'd love a pair of these for dragon raids, or for pulling caster mobs in a guild-crawl setting. Go on a Vox raid with 35 total MR and see how fast you die when you run feared into the bear pit, or go on a Naggy raid and see how long you sit there frying in the lava around the lair while feared(just about every dragon does that AOE Fear "Dragon Roar" thing) Or how bout pulling the temple in Fear? step thru the firewall and take 5 HT's with that 35 MR, you'll be a little puller-grease-spot. Never doubt the power of resist gear
