no focus effect?

I've done all the Collector quests except this one. The reason I haven't is that Alla does not show this item as having a focus effect.

I would figure it would have at least Improved Damage II, as that is the only focus effect that the other Collector quest items lack.

If not, then this item really sucks. It is not possible to get a chill dagger until your 30's, and even on the Newbie server, where I started a completely untwinked toon, there are a zillion better weapons that you can get, way before this is available.

Weapon definately does not suck. Ugh. Ok first of all you can do this quest at about level 10. As with all new person quests, its better to make a list of what you want, do normal hunting and if you need the item... loot it. If you dont leave it or sell it. what I mean is do not fixate on it. Like just go, level up and stay on target but dont fixate, its frustrating.

Before the bazaar and everyone was twinked and spoiled. This wwould be (and is) a great quest. It used to be pretty difficult to get a magic weapon before, say, 12? At about the level a magical willow-wisp kicks your butt, and you cant hit him because you cant hit him.

Ok so the weapon is magic. it has a 1/4 ratio. Which a fine steel (untwinked) is not obtainable untill about 25-30 or you pay 60pp to a vendor. ok... so then.

The weapon also has stats. Also more and more now a days delay is more important. A delay of 20 is not bad at all. Most that do this will be Shaman, and they get haste. etc.

I am so sick of explaining it. I am sure sometimes before the bazaar you can buy some nice weapons off merchants on a fluke. but Anyone that used to play a ways back knows this is well worth the trouble.

As far as the mob if you do the halfling foot bone quest. I took a 32 shaman to the tree stump for fun, they are a pain. The thorn themselves, they all sort of round robin heal, never run out of mana. Debuff and or disempower was very usefull. Even at 32 they are a pain if you dont get them away from the main group. For a leve 10ish this could be very hard. There are roamers and so on, so thats easy. Also a pretty rare drop. I think the skelle-leatherfoots might have more drop rate?

Much easier then this quest is seems -

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 01 2004 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This sucks...I am sorry I realize you put time and effort into why this does not suck but to be honest it does and here is why. By the time you gather the items to get this you could have easily gotten a ton of spider silks, pelts, spiderling silks, etc. In an hour I can make 100p with a newbie just off those items. 100p in the bazaar can get you a good weapon, one with a faster delay, better dmg, and if your lucky better stats.

You missed his whole point. He was making the point that BEFORE the bazaar, this would have been a pretty good weapon. So you throw the bazaar in his face. That makes sense how exactly?

And you are missing the point that the Bazaar is a Luclin era zone while PoK is a PoP era zone, so how much sense does your post make? This quest never existed before the Bazaar!

Actually, it did. Notice there is indeed a secondary way to do this quest.

You don't need to do the Gammle's Display quest to get this item... you don't even have to leave Antonica to get it, you just have to kill in Nek, zone into Neriak, and boom, there you go.

You want an item with these stats, then go to the Bazaar and pick up a Centi Short Sword - 50pp for the most part. If you want a 2HS weapon, look for a Yekesha Throneblade instead - 75pp typical, and the weapon does fair damage.

OK - I obviously erred in not recognizing the class limitations this weapong carries. One thing most Fine Antique items don't usually have are class limitations, and I missed the limitations on this item. I have alot of alts from 4 to 37 in levels (2 accounts) and I love these quests. Generally you get an item usable into your mid 20's to possibly your 40's. This weapon didn't even begin to compare favorably with the rest of the quests rewards and I shot it from the hip. Too bad, since it's been pointed out that I hit my foot. Hehe )

A Centi SS is a 1HS weapon. This is a piercer. Your comparisons are a bit irrelevant, sorry.

Still a valid post. I think what he was trying to say is that this weapon sucks, save up a pathetic amount of plat and get something better.

Yes, it is a sucky weapon.

The fact that he's telling casters and priests (among others) to get a 1hs weapon instead of this one invalidates his post.

Hmm, gimme another nit to pick!

Just to add to the clutter...

It really is a nice weapon. Good delay and decent stats. When you start a new server with no friends (and no plat-buying) this is the first thing you look for just because of how easy it is to get. 50-100pp takes a long time to save up, especially without a magic weapon (a lot of the newbie quest weapons aren't magic either).

Just my 3sp (damn inflation)

It's not a bead weapon for someone who just came to test and has no PP. Pretty easy to get. I'm working on one for my bard, as the market on Test server is not so rediculously inflated as on other servers....no one in their right mind pays 14pp for spider silks on test, I'll tell you that much.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 27 2003 at 8:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) EHEM!!! Sure, for as higher levels, yeah, thats easy (coughcheckminecough), but for lower levels (coughnewbscough), they might not HAVE 45-60pp for short sowrd, or 75pp for throngblade. So, it is NOT that much easier, and besides, WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU BUY THOSE 2 ITEMS? they tipically, uhh, SUCK. so, DONT WASTE YOUR PLAT ON THE SS OR THRNGBLADE.
