tanking shamen

Post level 61 I tank all the time when soloing, it allows me to turn the mob so that my pet ( or pets when I use spirit call) are attacking the mob from the rear. This prevents them from being parried / riposted and significantly improves their damage output. I also save mana on buffing / healing the pet , just using the occasional quiessence on myself to heal as necessary. With delightful orb of forgotten magic hitting for up to 80 and proccing multiple times a fight for 320 I also add significant damage.
Pull with slow , send in pet whilst mob is charging at me , hit auto attack , drop in the dots , renew dots as needed , quiessence self as needed. Downtime is minimal with canni 5 and quiessence.
Bought these recently , nice upgrade to the black fur boots which I can still click from inventory slot.

I got mine off the Diaku Supplier in the Plane of Tactics. He's a semi-tough named, with at least 2 different spawn points that I've seen. I've seen him spawn in the mess hall in tactics, and in a little alcove on the way to Tagrin. Only takes 1 group to bring him down too. Hope this helps.

The "Recommended: Level 56" tag indicates that this is a tier-3 drop (rule of thumb: 50/53/56 = tier-1/2/3 drop, +5 = 55/58/61 = same tier but boss drop rather than classic drop).

As for which of the tier-3 planes... take your pick.

You should consider that the person may not have seen the item drop, but rather in the bazaar or as a link then once they noticed it wasn't posted here they sent in the pic. Obviously the sooner we get items in the database the sooner we'll see good info about the items come in. I'm sure we can critize your post for being useless as well, significantly less useful then the pic itself.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 10 2003 at 6:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) sure there nice, but not really suited for druids. These would be a better buy for a cleric or a shaman that does alot of tanking and/or just alot of fighting and not just casting. 'course i'm not trying to bash druids.

I completely agree with Drienne about these boots being well suited for Druids
especially since we lack the AC the HP and additional mana, and the save vs magic is very welcomed.

These are very much suited for Druids. 8 wisdom and 45 mana is pretty good, better than the coldain boots. Add the HP (55-60 or so, depending on how much Druids get per STA) is nice, and the save is very useful. I wouldn't say they're fantastic, but definitely good. At the level these are worn (56 for full effect), no shaman or cleric in their right mind is going to be tanking voluntarily, and even so, 13 AC isn't very much.

When I see "no shaman or cleric in their right mind is going to be tanking voluntarily" it makes me wonder if they know anything about playing those classes. No offense, but come on folks... Those can be aggro intensive classes, and AC and hp can be as important or more than wis or mana. For clerics, there's much better stuff out there. For shaman (or yes... druids), this is a great improvement from GEBs or Coldain boots.

Keyword being VOLUNTARILY. You are correct though. HP and AC are very important and should not be over looked. But they are important to help ensure that when you do get aggro, you can survive till it's taken away...NOT so that you can be the tank. Priests tank out of need sometimes (read lots), but it's almost never by choice unless they are crazy wannabe tanks.

First of all, tanking isn't always a voluntary action.

Second, my wife plays a 65 Cleric who frequently offtanks in LDoN and on trash mobs on raids... And frquently fights melee when camping the VT shards. And she does quite well at it.. consider, Plate class, Self buffed over 5k hp, has a hammer that procs a 150dd like crazy, she gets stuns, she gets Yaulp 6 (uber atk/melee stat buff +mana regen) and she has a 1.8 second cast time heal... Clerics can tank quite well, depending on the situation.

I've also seen Shammys tank many times... even on BoT krigers. I dunno if I would want one as MA on a PoP raid, but.. they can do it very effectively.

I know quite a few other clerics along with myself that like to get in the mix of things and bash a few heads. with my cleric if I am above 85m and the group doesn't need too many heals, heck get in there and add some damage. hey, why else would verant give us the yaulp line of spells =)

Any proper shaman that I know of would be tanking "in teh face" even at these levels...let's hear it for battle shaman everywhere

Any shaman in the 61+ range who solos tanks more often than not, its a simple fact our pets SUCK at holding aggro over us, and considering Verant decided to make nearly every mob in the game summon nowadays, tanking is inevitable. Just strap on your epic, mana free dot the mob to death and spend your mana keeping torpor/Quiesence on yourself, great fun.
Nice

Nice pair of boots, not as good as the FT3 ones from CT. Well, if you are looking on wisdom and not spending a fortune I guess these would be decent... Yeah they would be
