They could of made this weapon fabled

I don't know if you would agree with me or not but they could of made this kind of weapon fabled as well and perhaps many others besides most of the pet weapons.
particle effect?
# Oct 27 2004 at 8:48 PM Rating: Decent
Does anybody know if this weapon has a particle effect like most of the other high-end PoP weapons?

Boy! I cannot wait to get my hands on one of this and place an Anger III Aug in this baby...

look at the implications...

1hb in one hand and a shield in the other hitting like a 2h weapon about 120-200 plus.

Then place an Anger III Augmentation in that... Perma-Agro.

You are aware, that Anger Augments are Warrior only, while the same class can't use this mace?

.. Probably you weren't.

Actually, there are all/all anger augs that cost 1492 somewhere(forget where and what # anger but they do exist)

This is not a flame because I can see how you've been mislead. I believe the augment you are referring to is which Alla's has listed as all / all at the time of this post.

However, if you follow the link to Lucy through the spell description for Anger III you get which, as you can see, is actually warrior only. So no, there is no all / all Anger augment available for purchase at this time (all the other Anger augments were correctly labeled as war only).

And yeah thats about as nice as I can make the links -- I'm not so good at this funny postin links stuff. =P

I don't even know why some of you jokers are lowering Neptunis' post rating even though what he said rings true (although I believe he meant slow instead of low).

This weapon has nice stats, but it doesn't compare to any of the better one handers and two handers out there. Why? Damage Bonus. A big part of your damage with every hit comes from the DB. One Hand weapons have WAY lower Damage Bonuses than Two Handers, which is why you would want to have a fast one hander. Even though this is a good damage weapon, it's delay is close to a 2 hander even though it's 1 handed. Hence, lower DPS.

By the way, the weapon is dropped by Jopal Seer.

Im not sure what you mean when you say that this weapon does not *compare to any of the better one handers and two handers out there.* Please elaborate.

Also, many of your comments are inaccurate.

Firstly, your thoughts on damage bonus are incorrect. 2H weapons with a delay of 27 or less have (essentially) the same damage bonus as a 1H (14 vs 13).

Also, when trying to evaluate DPS, damage bonus is merely a piece of the pie. DPS is generated from many things, like your attack rating, the ratio on the weapon, the damage bonus, the AC of the mob, etc.

The reason you want a fast 1H is because you are applying the damage bonus faster, but that isn't the best choice for DPS in all situations. You would need to consider the things I mentioned above as well (e.g. ratio, your attack rating, etc.) to make the best choice.

Furthermore, something that you completely neglected to mention, is that the higher your attack rating, the less important the damage bonus becomes and the more important the ratio becomes.

As such, the fact that this has a *delay is close to a 2 hander* is completely irrelevant in terms of DPS. It would be very easy to find a 2H out there that would do less DPS then this weapon and be faster or slower.

Furthermore, which is usually the case, bash damage from a shield is completely ignored. Even with 2HB AA, you are still looking in the neighborhood of 6 additional DPS when using a 1H weapon and a shield vs a 2H and the 2HB AA skill. That helps reduce the DPS advantage of a 2H vs. a 1H

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 17 2004 at 11:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Damage Bonus can't be mitigated, only avoided, so think before you say anything.

Nowhere did he say that. He said Damage Bonus is less important if your ATK is high. He said this because if your attack rating is high you will do more damage per hit and have to rely less on the Damage Bonus anyway.

Read before you say anything.

This is the most ridiculous statement I've seen made. DMG bonus does not become less important as your ATK goes up /boggle. Your attack appiles to any weapon you wield and more correctly stated high attack gives you a better chance at doing dmg closer to the max on your weapon each hit.

This has absolultely nothing to do with DMG bonus, which is there reguardless. I do understand you are saying Dmg Bonus becomes a smaller piece of the pie when ATK goes up, but while the total dmg output per hit is pushed up the curve with higher attack, damage done by DMG Bonus is still significant enough to always be important. You would have to have a ridiculously high ATK for dmg bonus to ever become insignificant, that making the (wrong) assumption that you could ever have an ATK high enough to make you hit for max every time you hit.

If you had a 40dmg 30dly 2handed weapon in your bag you would be stupid to use a 40/30 1handed weapon, unless like someone mentioned you were a MT and needed the extra 100 or so hps you can gain by wearing a shield then it *might* be useful if you had a shield that could compensate by adding aggro.

I agree. This would be a little too slow for my tastes, but I would still use it occasionally. Heavey Bludgeoner would be much better, but seeing as this drops off exp mobs, and the bludgeoner drops from Avatar of Mist, I wouldnt mind having this in my bag.

Damage Bonus is not everything, however. If the owner of this is put into a tanking situation the added STA, HP, AC (from the weapon and the shield you are able to wield with it), Riposte bonus, etc are much more important. And, unless the PAL/SHD has the 2-hand bash AA, wielding a shield is a must-have for caster mobs.

I'm a firm believer that there is no one weapon that can be used for any and all situations... that's why I always carry at least 3 to 4 weapons/shields on me at all times.

I never mentioned in my thread this weapon is not ideal in a tanking situation. [smile] I'm merely replying to those who are clearly overestimating the damage of this weapon.

Actually, they drop as the common drop off any of the nameds around the islands area. Not mini's - just regular random pop 6-person nameds.

Rare is the warrior swarm weapon.

Well, if you guys have a magelo file, you can actually check for it (if your a knight class that is), it is a 1hb, which is nuts, since my main weapon right now is the Oozing Quarterstaff and it's only 24/29, this one is freaking 40/30, I can't even imagine how much damage I would do with this. Also a note for this weapon, it's has a recommended level of 62, so it would be very nice to have, but gotta be 62 to actually see the full damage on the weapon (least in my part). As for who drops it, I have no clue, this weapon I think just totally rocks.

I can only hope it's really a 2hb. A one hand blunt with this low a delay would be next to worthless for me. Too much loss of damage with no 2 hand bonus.

But if it IS 2hb, that rippost mod is awesome, making it one of the best new weapons I've seen for us Knight Classes when tanking.
Is this possible
