hiya everyone,
just wanted to let ya'll know the mask still drops from said named spent 4 to 4 1/2 hours there first 3 or so hours no named spawned at all just PH's then had 3 back to back named the first 2 named didnt drop mask the 3rd one dropped it so wasnt too bad ..

Got it today, very easy to get (or I was very lucky!)
When you zone in, it is very straightforward; take the west door, avoid the tiny carpet (trap) and go all the way until you see the exit, and kill everything in the area.
When I got there, the mob was up, and it dropped first shot!

Mask still drops as of 4-9-12, took quite a few spawns to get it.
Didn't know it was this name mob till I saw the mask, he spawned right in front of the portal stone, at the end of the west wing, top floor. server

Camping this guy for 2 days now dropped some arms and a dagger, which was temporary, casted DMP of me nice buff if ya need a good levi. No mask yet. Spawns are desently good. just keeps dropping arms/dagger. Signed: Camped in HS !

Crawled through North and West wings of Howling Stones last night on my cleric. Took about 5-6 placeholders for this guy to finally spawn, but he ended up dropping the mask.

Picked this thing up in POK the other day for 3k!
Not sure of frequency, but dropped for me on only kill of this guy about a week ago.

hmmm i definatly think this has been nerfed, i normally camp this and it was pretty easy/common but now the tarnished gold plate vambraces are its common and this mask is the rare, also his spawn rate seem slower, can anyone verify?

This mask does (usually) increase faction with Overthere. I have tried it. I have one. No I'm not thinking of Mask of Decption (which works even better).
Also, the charm of being an Erudite wears off kinda fast. Its fun for the first day, then not being able to see really doesn't make up for the uniqueness.

the barb mask drops off AoW and only AoW not statue i have one so i know and have killed statue/idol/AoW many times

If you are someone wanting this you can just go to lower guk for one with 13 cha and some saves. Just suggestion

Yes yes there are many illusion items but you all forgot There is an Illusion woodelf crown and Illusion water elemental shoulders, sorry rogues the shoulders are Bard/enchanter only.

Um? OT in ERUDITE form is not going to help you. You may be thinking of the Mask of Deception from Assassin camp in LGuk.
I went from "scowl" to "apprehensive" when my Agnostic Half-Elf Bard put on the Erudite illusion, so perhaps you meant "If you follow a religion that the evil NPCs at the port don't care for, then the mask won't make you non-KOS." Have you even tried the thing? And if so, how did you get up to 15 (to be able to use it) without learning that religion effects faction?

My agnostic Erudite magician can walk about the outpost and sell/bank without being attacked. Unless you're religious, this mask would let you do the same.

High Elf is quested in kith
Vah Shir no drop for Ssra Temple ima pretty sure
Halfing dropped in chardok
Barb-not sure where its drops but not only does it give the very rare barb illusion but stats are UBER nice

well cant say these re too rare. just spent about 6 hours in HS and saw 5 drop. 3 from group. 2 from another. being a rogue i know how one ... but i agree with an old post here.. the effect looks like crap, and definately makes ya blind as a bat.
When I'm in Erudite form, I can see fine. It gets a little darker than when in Halfling or Iksar form but I can run through Toxx or Feerrott easily.

The look is a matter of opinion...I've used one on my rogue and with the right accessories the effect is pretty good. As for the night blindness, get a Mrylokars helm. Bards have their own solution I'm sure
Every time I've been to HS, I've seen this drop. Not that tough, but usually the people that see it drop and win keep it.. That's why it's so high priced.

The EQ people are great to give rogues masks that give them specil power is great rogues cant cast spells but there is 4 mask that change them to a Eduite, Iksar, Dark Elf and Gnome

There is also the halfling mask that drops in Chardok, the High elf mask quested for in Kith forest and the barbarian mask from the Avatar of War in Kael.
If you want more spell casting, check out Mrylokar's armor that drops in KC and OS. There are various other clicky items that rogues can put to good use scattered around...I won't list them here - thats what a premium account is for :)

I just got this mask today and I have to say that it was extremely hard to get and is pretty rare. I only know one other person with one.

Not sure about the Tunare server, but if you find one for sale, which is kinda rare, on the CT server, they are only about 3 - 5k. They are a bit more expensive than the other masks, but then again they are harder to get. I know about 6 rogues and 3 bards that have these masks and only one that uses it. The rest of them just have it as a status symbol.

I have always been under the impression that something is "worth" whatever someone else is willing to pay for it. That being said, I bought one of these for 1500pp in the bazzar. This item, in my eyes, is not "worth" much more than that.

Why do people jack up the price on an item that only 2 classes can use? I be a rogue and the only reason I want it is to look like and Erudite (duh hehe). Sure it's a rare drop but good lord 9k JUST to look like an Erudite come on people have a heart.
When one's race can alter their faction in major cities (for example, an Agnostic DE Rogue getting into Erudin for something, or an Agnostic Half-Elf Bard getting into The Overthere's port), I think that "just looking like an Erudite" means more than simple asthetics.
