Umm its not paladin usable by the description. Old post so maybe it used to be, shrug.
Its totally obvious. what they have done is taken the less popular race/class combos and given them better gear then the more common. Thats why the halfling cleric or this pally gets nice gear. its to encourage mixing it up a bit.

The rest of our newbie armor is crap, so they balance it out with a nice sword :P
This compares well... I don't know if it's as good as the halfling paladin newb sword (the halfling ranger quest is by far the easiest of the weapon quests, and the reward by far the worst).
I may go ahead and do it one night, just to prove my allegiance (once again) to Paineel and the Heretics.

Yes it is the newbie quest weapon that is given out after completing the Fell Blade armor quests in Paineel Shadowknight guild.
