I remember reading on the message boards that one of the eq guys posted that the iksar are VERY religious which is probably the reason you all have faction problems. (Remember these are the guys that brought you firiona vie in bondage gear)

Yes, they are. All Iksar worship Cazic-Thule automatically, to make up for the fact that no humans do, I suppose(I'm not counting the Heretics of Paineel here, bog standard humans).

I actually looted one last night at lvl45! I loved it... Love it more because I didn't pay for it. I EARNED it!! How did some of you guys manage to pay 4000pp when you are lvl 20? alt character maybe?

This mask procs at 38, it does not give regen, but it does raise faction some. It just started procing for me and i was thoroughly disappointed to see hp go up 3 per tick.

I was rather upset with the no regen too. My brother plays a chanter and has the iksar illusion spell and he says he gets the extra regen. I was hoping to get the regen for myself too. But the 13 cha and 7mr is still pretty nice!! The the regen woulda been nicer!!

Ok i am lookin in to getting this mask for myself, i am a 42 rogue on Torvonnilous. I have thought about the idea of going to Cabilis with this mask a bit but i saw no one talk about the other advantages of this Illusion. REGEN! If this illusion is like the enchanter illusions, then the wearer assumes all the racial abilities of the illusion.. eg. Troll illusion gets troll regen/Iksar illusion gets IKSAR REGEN! If i am wrong on this plz tell me but IMO this would rock for a rogue.

so you know the chanter's illusion doesn't give regen, however it does let you see under water better (clearly)

ok enough talk about faction lets get to the kilin what this guy like to kill harbringer in TT never been there but i hear its what hight 40s low 50s so im on my way just like to know if anhone killed him any stratigy to get him , spawm time ect
Harbinger Dronik is a ghostly mob, and is wizard class. His level varies from 49 to 50, and when my group and I dropped him the other night he was a yellow con to me at 49.
Luckily, Dronik doesn't seem to have been doing his research, as I saw no sign of Ice Comet from him :)
Our tactics were quite simple, ranger pull to main tank, secondary tank had one of those right click pally stun bracers, so pally was chain stunning to keep the nukes down, and myself and a wizard collegue were blazing away with our own nukes, tossing in the odd stun ourselves. Dronik isn't short of hitpoints, but as long as the puller doesn't get too far away from him you should be fine (our ranger made the mistake of getting too far ahead on the first pull, and Dronik started nuking him).
As far as spawning goes, Dronik is, as stated below and in various other places, part of the Forager cycle. While you'll no doubt see many variations of this cycle, the important thing to remember is this : pull named if possible, if no named, pull the forager. Spawns are instant, so there's always something up that's on the cycle, but the order seems to be rather random from my observations. For a list of the Nameds on Forager, see the strategy section for this zone.

ONE Kill as many sarnaks as you can, raises two factions, legion of cabilis and one other, can't remember.
TWO Kill as many iksar outcasts as you can (footpads, bandits, maradurs, briginds, manslayers), ONLY way to raise iksar necromancer faction.
THREE ONLY way to raise faction with iksar monks/shamans/sk/and one other i belive. Turning in bone chips in the Feild of Bone to one of the troopers guarding the zone to Cabilis, i think its Trooper Mozo, or something like that, if you are facing Cabilis, he is on your right.
IF YOU HAVE NO WAY OF TEMARAILY ALTERING FACTION
as far as know, tree illusion makes you indifferent to everything, so what I suggest, if you really want to raise faction, is to kill enough sarnaks to become dubious or higher to the troopers. Get a TON of bone chips, and wait for the crusaders to start there walk (there are 2 in FoB Quarg, and Bodi, they stand at zone to cabilis for a bit, then wander around) stand behind Trooper Mozo, and have one of the Crusaders targeted, illuison yourself into a tree, and con him, if your not kos, turn in those chips !!! hehe

Actually, it does adjust your faction... just not completely. It gives you a slightly higher faction with Iksar-alligned factions, and slightly lower with non-Iksar-alligned factions. If you are WAYYYY in the hole, it won't much of a difference, but if you're close, it will put you over the top.

In order for you to be able to use the ilusion (right clickable) you have to be wearing it. You can't just have it in your inventory.
You can remove the mask once the illusion is cast.

what's your point? you think we're dumb enough to try using the effect while not wearing it? you don't give us very much credit ;) point is this, at lv 37, while wearing the mask, if you right click it, you'll become an Iksar, any lv before that, nothin happens.

Why would you think that you have to wear it to use it? It is a spell effect. The guise/mask of the deciever works just fine in the inventory, that is why you see classes other than brd/rog turning into DE's.
Would be nicer if verant took away the religion factor though. I dont know how every mob/npc knows who i worship, if any.

Umm... that's the old mask. Guise of the Deceiver works from your inventory. Mask of Deception does not.
The mask of deception works from your inventory .I use the mask in an inventory slot since level 24...And yes its not the guise ether.So everyone stop saying the mask of deception does not work in your inventory because it does.

sorry if i misled you, I'm now lv 22 and it still doesn't work, from the other things i've read it seems that it starts to become right-clickable at lv 37 or maybe 38, and yeah it DOES suck, cuz i wanna be an Iksar now!! but think of it this way, if you're a bard, we get neat skills like safe fall and instill doubt and 24 and 26, then 30 is a landmark, 31 we get the levitate song, sweet, 32 is mana song, 34 is the super song, that regens hp, mana, and sta, around like 35-37, ykesha's start to proc, sweet, then 37-38, we get the mask workin, so it's not all that bad, plus the levels will go fast if you want them bad enough, i've been gettin a lv a day since i got to lake of ill omen, the xp rocks there. oh, if you're a rogue, i don't know what to tell you for motivation =( sorry.

you sure? because i'm lv 20, and every time i right click it, it's says that i'm not of sufficient level to use this effect, so maybe they nerfed it in a patch, or maybe you just don't know what you're talkin about =)

Hmmmmmm, I dont' think you got ripped. Automatic faction adjustment? Yeah that's always sweet. I've never seen one for sale so have nothing to compare it with though. IMHO, it's worth it.

Why do people think this adjusts faction ? Those masks NEVER override your religion on your faction adjustments you have already made from killing things. The only time it *might* help is if you are agnostic and you have dont nothing to the race you are illusioned as. Even then I have heard that it wont work for Iksar.
This is why people try to rip off Bards and Rogues with this item. The ONLY thing you get from this mask besides the illusion is infravision. You dont get regen, you dont get better swimming. Trust me I know this, I have one.
This mask is no better than a Guise of the Deceiver that any Bard or Rogue can get given to them for free most of the time. This masks only use is for its illusion novelty and that does not make it worth for than 1000p to me.

You have obviously neve played an enchanter have you? If you are agnostic (and every character that can be should be, IMHO)they can turn into every race in the game. Illusions do have instant faction modifier, they change your race which in turn changes your base faction. Then your religion and your actions throughout your life are mixed in. If you have this mask and have not screwed your faction over by killing stuff or being a particular regligion then you may enter Cabalis. (Or any other city if you can turn into that race!)

really? that's what everyone said it went for, around 5k =( well, if it's worth less, i ripped myself off, because the HighElf i bought it from wasn't sure how much it was worth, so i told her what i believes to be true and i told her 5k, she gave me a discount for being honest, but if it really selld for much less than that, which is what you're making it seem, then oh well, you know things go for diff. prices on diff. servers, what server are you on? and do you know how much your server avg. price is? and also, whatlv does it proc? =)
