Mask of Deception  

 

does any one have info on the other masks this is the first I heard of them. like where do I find them and all that thank u good hunting all

I got one of these tonight as a 31 DE Rogue... I read somewhere that it turned a DE into a halfling (which I would like to be), but it doesn't. I thought it wouldn't, but hey... what is so wrong about trying? It is still better than my banded mask I had. I also got a TBB while I waited, so it really isnt that bad after all =)

I got my mask at lvl 11, just walked there had a invis to undead potion and asked to loot it, they said sure when it droped, I just poped my potion and bam. www.eqdiva.com has a great guide to it.

I got mine with my lvl 10 kitty rogue.What i did was to get bound in EFP,and then put everything in the bank.I then bummed a sow and ran to guk.having never touched a froglok in my life,i was dubious so Upper Guk was a breeze to get through.Unfortunately,LGuk was a whole another story.I did the hide%sneak thing,but when i came to the water i took it off to swim through without drowning.I then went to turn it back on when i neared the surface,but found out you can't sneak underwater(go figure).I tried to surface to get a breath of air to swim back through and hide%sneak again,but a ghoul knight saw me and proceded to beat the crap out of me.Having learned the error of my ways,i ran back to lguk again and Mangaged to get to the Sup *** room this time.A friendly group was camping the room and agreed to let me have the mask loot.After a few hours though the group had dwindled down to 1 pally and a enchanter.Finally,the assassin spawned and they attacked it.But when it was low on health it ran down the ladder and when the partnership ran down to finish it off,they aggroed the 4 or so undead ghoul froggies down there.After they killed the assassin,they ran for the zone but were killed before they got there.I looted the mask and thanked them for the help,but was killed by a ghoul knight returning to his spawn point.on the way back,I was killed by some idiot training Spectres all over the place in oasis.Luckily the pally revived me when she got there,and i looted the mask and Hide%sneaked my way to freedom.Unfortunately,i was greatly disappointed to find out i was to low to use the mask,i was really looking forward to the DE look :).But 15 isn't to far off,i was afraid it was a lot higher.I hope you fellow rogues and bards have good luck in getting your mask and i would like to thank the guys who sacrificed themselves to get my mask.

Finally decided to go and get this mask last night. First and foremost, I decided to wait till I was in my 30's before i would even attempt it. Not because it couldnt be done before those levels, but because I actually wanted to contribute to the group killing the beastie.
I bought a bunch of Unlife Awareness potions (all of which lasted a real long time, at least for me) and headed down there, going way of the greater icebones instead of the spiders and gargs. At first there was someone ahead of me but they had to log which put me up front.Hoorah!
So about 4 hours passed with no assasin spawn =(
I and a couple in my group died and were rezzed by a nice cleric (whom I gladly payed of course).
Back to break the camp we went.....
As the time passed our group got smaller and smaller with STILL no sign of the assasin. I was starting to lose hope for the night. It was just me and SK at that point. A short time later, and to my relief, a pali joined with us in our efforts to slay these beasties.
A few minutes later the assasin FINALLY spawned and dropped the mask! WOOHOO After which I stayed till everyone else was leaving.
Weary,bruised, battered, but with my head high, I make my way back to upper guk as a dark elf =)

Can Vah Shir bards use this mask? It does not say they can, but the pic may not have been updated since SoL. Just curious if I should bring the kitty in and bring the assassin down or not...

Got my MoD today at lvl 21. sent out an /ooc and got a response right away. 30 minutes later I got a "Hurry. You have 5 min" message. Hurried too fast, took a wrong turn and got a lesson in hand to claw by a spider. Found a rez waited another 30 minutes and got another "Hurry" message. Got the turns right this time and picked it up. Happened to pick up a shin guant, and shin greeves in the process. I'd say a pretty productive 2 hours! :)

Any one else noticed that the mask of deception says need to be lvl 30 to attian and guise of deiceiver is lvl 35 to attain, even thou they drop off the same mob. =)

I used to have a baby Rogue that i twinked out but decided not to play him (didnt like being short as he was a Halfling) but my friend bet me that i couldnt get the mask as a LVL 1 i took his bet and it was on...I should also mention that i had a 51 Shaman at the time...had my shammy make UI potions so she could get in there then i marched her in and camped..then i waltzed my baby rogue in and camped him out a Shaman with out a pet can hold ***/Sup with out too much difficuilty for a long period of time so i sat there and camped him took about 4 hours before i got my mask at which time i loged off Ssarahh and loged on my Rogue and Poof a LVL 1 Halfling Rogue with a MoD while i was hunting there i also picked up a Pair of Serrated bone dirks and a TBB, Ohh and i hung out there for a Bard Guildie of mine to get down there and get her one too :)

For those who wonder Halflings get Hide and Sneek at LVL 1 as a racial ability and it still gives the message "you are as quiet as a cat stalking its prey" and "you have hidden yourself from view"

I got this mask in lguk and after that i run to The Overthere because people was telling me with this mask i would be safe from the Dragoons. Hm ok i'm not that stupid so i got invisible to the city and droped quick the Invis while i was in de form. But im KOS. So for what is this illusion good then, when i'm still kos to them? Where does the Illusion work propertly?

can a gnome rogue use this i know it says no but does anyone know if they can couse otherwis verant has screwed gnome rogues again

Ok as far as I'm concerned this mask is a must have for Barbarian Rogues. Why? Well first of all Barbarians lack of night vision is very frustrating and annoying. Second of all it allows you to get into the evil alligned cities (except for Cabalis of course). And third, Dark Elves have hands down the sweetest looking armor out of any race. Ever see a Dark Elf in full Ry'Gorr? Looks phat as hell. Ok well anyway heres how I got mine: I got a kind Wizard to TL me to N ro, then I ran invisible to Lguk (Normal frogloks should be dubious btw). Then I used Sneak + Hide to get past the frogluks in the entrance. However, it is not possible to get out of the water sneaking + hiding unless you are SoWed. The solution: wait or ask for someone to clear out the bedroom. You can quick hop out of the water then re-sneak and re-hide. Then the rest is just a matter of sneaking and hiding into the assasin's room if he isn't up (he sees through sneak + hide). You can camp your little Rogue in the room until someone goes after the Assasin or whatever. In my experience he isn't very rare but I may be wrong. Anyway now you should have your mask so enjoy it. Very useful when you are pulling in The Overthere (damn goons). It is also worth noting that if you click on a corpse by accident while sneaking and hiding you will become visible even if you get the "You may not loot this corpse at this time" message. This happened to me twice, both by accident. I would suggest not right clicking anything in there cause its easy to get yourself on a corpse run.
