Sony really should allow an NPC who will take the monk's epic and elemental gloves and put the Celestial Tranquility on the elemental gloves and hand them back.

Would prevent monks from bypassing epic and cheapening it but would make elemental gloves the super desirable upgrade they SHOULD be. Not a minor, debatable tradeoff.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 10 2003 at 12:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I like how these gloves are far superior to the beastlord gloves from the same pattern.

no beastlord ones are superior.. they get the same hps plus mana and the same effect.. how can you say monk ones are superior?

Monk epic effect

it doesnt stack with ranger buffs that are FAR better then the click effect, so most the time monks dont use them since they have ranger buffs and haste... monks will kill keep epic fists for soloing, but these are vastly supierior for raiding reasons

you know, by this POINT in the game, i would think u have a 65 enchanter with u for speed and of course other kiack azz chanter spells and if u dont ( which u are crazy not too ) im sure u would have some other haste item that is more then your EPIC, cause if u dont then what are u doing here, these are vastly supierior for ALL reasons. If u are even remotely lucky enough to be here raiding this place i would most likely say u do it alot and if u see the rest of the Ton Po gear then u will know by this point in the game your epic is abouselty almost useless.
Some of us fail to see the light.

Heh its really funny how people dont understand the monk epic effect if they are not monks thats understandable.. if they make comments about things they dont understand then well they are stupid :/

the Celestial Fists (monk epic) has a right click effect that adds 40% haste that stackable with spell haste and item haste but will not get you past the cap of 80% total haste.. it also adds 54 to ATK which has a direct effect on dammage output and it adds 12ac. It is true that the effect does not stack with the level 62 chanter haste that adds 41ATK and 68% spell haste along with 52agi and 33dex. with out ranger bufs however a monk is better off using the epic effect and asking the chanter for Vision of Grandure which is the level 60 chanter haste that is 58%haste 40agi 25dex and 26ATK the reason being (assuming the monk's str is maxed and that he is not tanking)with a ranger present then there is Strength of Tunare which is also not stackable with with Celestial Tranquility but adds 60 ATK.

So in summery with no ranger the best combination is:

Celestial Tranquility 54ATK
Visions of Grandure 26ATK
= 80ATK

with ranger present
Speed of Vallon 41ATK
Strength of Tunare 60ATK
Sprit of the Predator 70ATK
= 171ATK

If no ranger is present and Speed of Vallon is used
Speed of Vallon 41ATK
= 41ATK

So you gotta know what to use in which situaton..

Alot of times a monk will simply be in a single group with out the advantage of Ranger Buffs which makes the epic and it effect the best choice.

which spell has more haste percentage makes no different as long as monk has at least 22% item haste.. (VoG haste 58% + 22% item haste = 80% with is the max you can have) the stats on the spells are different but if you are grouped with a shaman then your stats whould max with either haste spell and shaman bufs.. I know with either haste and shaman bufs my stats are maxed except for stamina. wich is 234 the rest are 285 wich is level 65 stat cap plus level 1 of Planar Power.. this might change with more planar power but as far as dammage output goes neither chanter haste effects strength which is he only stat to affect ATK. dex on the otherhand does effect special attacks (kicks).

ok these gloves are better unless you are soloing completely alone.

Speed of Vallon 41atk
These gloves 30atk
= 71atk

still 9 atk lower then epic and VoG but you have to factor in the higher hp's and the 3 hp regen as well...I'd rather have 3hp regen and more hp's then 9 atk...anyone else agree with me?

edit...oh I forgot, only the stats from the song stack with the spell haste, not the haste itself. so if you had SoV on you would only really need a 22% haste item to get to soandso's posted 80% cap on haste...I doubt it is 80 but I could be wrong.

If they ever did make a new epic and decided to do gloves for monks like before I would imagine the right click to be one of the newer bard haste songs that break the cap.

Unless they fixed it's stacking, Celestial tranqulity doesn't stack with the 62 enchanter haste, so those who're getting these prolly haven't clicked their epics in a while
RE: Erm
# Sep 19 2003 at 2:21 PM Rating: Decent
I could be wrong about this but I thought that monk epic haste didn't stack with chanter 62 haste because it is the same haste they get from their epic click. If this is true they will never "fix" the stacking because their intention is to prevent epic clicky stacking. I wonder if anyone has ever tried stacking another class's epic click (wizzy for example) with the chanter epic click. Almost useless to haste the wizzy but if you care enough to figure it out might as well try it.

Actually, chanter epic DOES stack with epic and Speed of Vallon (62 spell) does not.

I duo with my wife a lot, and always ask for SoS

"Nice, but overall it's not that big of an upgrade from the celestial fists. Not big, but still an upgrade is an upgrade. =P "

ahh yes, stat wise they may be better, however when you look at the effect on epic, there is something there.

Celestial Tranquility
1: Increase ATK by 40
5: Increase Attack Speed by 40%
8: Increase AC by 12

granted, if you could click gloves from invintory it might be worth it, however you also have to count in the laziness factor. i doubt most monks are going to be willing to sacraphice 40attk, not to mension the 40% song haste from the click on the gloves

granted if you were willing to do the clicks, click the gloves then equip the new ones, and you'd have a net +70 attk, 3 regen and 12 ac over all, not counting stats, just effects. 70attk is nothing at all to sneeze at, but how often is a monk going to be willing to do that? probably not much.

so once again, epic will most likely stay equipped (atleast in my opionion it should)

note: yes, i know it was posted in the wrong area, too lazy to fix it. ;)

Thing is with speed of valon, epic becomes just another stat item. Plus SoV adds stats similar to the ones given by the epic.

I did it with my RoWF and Fungi, Don't see why I won't create a hot key for inventory and hands slot and just pop 'em over.

Nice, but overall it's not that big of an upgrade from the celestial fists. Not big, but still an upgrade is an upgrade. =P

For those too lazy to look it up~
Celestial Fists: AC: +15 Str: +20 Sta: +10 Agi: +10 Dex: +10 Magic Resist: +10 Fire Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +10 Poison Resist: +10 Disease Resist: +10 HP: +100
Effect: Celestial Tranquility

One more stamina and fourty more hitpoints. It counts. =P
