I'm still reletively new to the 60's, alot of my gear I've been wearing for 20 or more levels. This is a great upgrade for me, with my 30% aa mana save, and my improved heal shoulder item I seldome have mana issues unless I'm in a group with a tank that shouldn't be tanking in that zone.

Yes - this is only 10% mana preservation.
Yes - there are better mana preservation items in the game but if you don't have them then this is not that bad an item to have in your secondary slot!
My chanty just got one of these and the mana preservation kicks in on tash, slow, dots, cripple and nukes!
Oh and it sparkles =D what more reason do you need?

I know this post is old has heck, but incase someone else reads it. This focus is for Beneficial spells only.

got one today for my sham. wasn't going to roll but the only other person rolling was a cleric so I thought why not. does the effect work on dots too?
Yes, it works on DoTs. My Druid had one for a while, and it definitely activated on them.
This item would be nice if it had 15% mana safe not 10%.
I'd not take it for me for the focus effect it has nice stats and all but if you compare 5% mana of a 4kish mana pool thats 200 mana. You'd have to get a PoTime earring prolly to get additional 200mana on one single item.
And each nuking class who says I won't wear the 15% mage earring over the solstice should just calculate 15% his/her mana pool and then think again.
Additional if you have Ornate sleeves they have also 10% mana pres on all so then its useless.
Nice item though for Wizards or nukers who don't have a mage in reach always.
And a nice stats also. I'd take it for the stats.

Just got this item recently. I use it when I am too lazy to track down a mage to get an earring. It would be real cool if the orb was equippable in the range slot though, as I already have a Buckler of Insight for secondary. Let's all give feedback to make this a range equippable item! =)
I got this today with my druid. I have 292 wis unbuffed so thought was well worth lossing 8 wis for. That and all i need to do is put a 6 wis augemtent on it and not really lossing that much wis at all.

This item isnt bad at all. It has a item slot on it , so you can plug in anything you wish from Adventure.

If you are a person who uses nuke spells a lot you have a duty to everyone who groups with you to use a mage earring and not settle for less. Get this for the stats but use mage earring unless you have a focus that does 16% mana save or better...
And if you wear 2 earrings with a lot of mana or hp or FT or focus effects on them?

The effect on this item does not appear to stack with the Summoned magician earrings (Jolumn's bauble). When I equipped both items, only the earring message appears when casting DD nukes. That leads me to believe that this effect has less of a mana preservation than Jolumn's Bauble.
Still this is a very nice item, with a very cool graphic. And the mana preservation is enough to warrant replacing the earring slot I have kept open for the summoned mage earring.

I bid on this in my guild last night... I'm a shaman but I thought the mana save is worth it. Hoping I didn't make a miskate =)

i know a guy whose druid was flagged for elementals at 50... at 54 he is now flagged for time. granted, he cant get in time for a while, but he got a nice little charm =)

This piece has a nifty look. Sort of a glowing green blob that emits particles. If you've seen the Grandmaster Assassin's Seal then you've seen the same graphic this has.
