Platinum Ruby Veil

Ok, let me mention something here... I've heard alot of people drone on and on about how ac is more important than stat buffs. For example the Artic Wyvern Mask has 5 wis (some other very nice buffs) and some ac... BUT! The higher the lvl the less 4 or 5 ac is going to make a difference and the more 4 or 5 extra wisdom is. Casters, who I'm assuming would get the most use out of this cause a tank would get almost no benifit from the wisdom, shouldn't be tanking nor should they be on the front lines in a group. Is 5 ac going to help more than the extra mana that lets you fear or charm or even gate? I'll let you decide ;-)

Personally I'm very happy with my veil and I wouldn't take a few ac over the extra mana. Then again I'm a shaman... and though we can buff ac, hit points, and about everything else, we can't just whip up a replacement for some extra mana :-)

This is a great druid item, a good cleric item and a not so hot shaman item. Malise, slow, disempower, heals, etc. all draw good chunks of aggro. If you use 3 or 4 of these in a fight, there's a VERY good chance you're going to take some shots. Having a good AC will help you live until the tank taunts the mob off you and shaman do have a way to whip up extra mana ... it's called cannibalize and you can't canni hps that a mobs beats out of you.

As for soloing, you wouldn't believe how much longer I (+ my pets) last using my Imbued Northman Mask (and some other low wis/high ac gear) and tanking for Fido.

I would think this would be better for rangers and paladins becasue it gives wisdom and strength not intelligence. I would think that the wisdom this item gives would be wasted on a Shadow Knight. But the strength would be a big help.
