Hooookay...

1) No, I have not yet found anyone in Torden who will recharge this ring. As far as I know, there is no mob quest to recharge it.

2) This ring, like most post-Luclin stuff, is NOT rechargable via any combination of mana batteries, tool kits, or tinkering bags. I could be proven wrong by a gnome with over 250 tinkering, but if you've got the cash to get tinkering up that high, you've got the cash to farm a new fully charged ring :P

3) The stats on this ring SCALE DOWN with your level. Therefore it may or may not be the neatest thing to put on your lvl 10 toon as far as stats go.

4) The DS on this isn't great and there's two charges of it. Pay a shammy to make Skinspikes I-IV for you, it's easier. Heck in the time it would take you to farm this ring, you could probably PL your own shammy to 25 and start making your own skinspikes potions.

5) It doesn't take any more time to whine for a high lvl druid to toss spikes and regen on you than it does to stand around and whine for Temp. This too may be a better option.

Using My Gnome tinker skill lvl 252+ using delux tool kit & then a colapsible recharge kit each trying Class 1 thru 6 mana battier! I even tryed putting a skinspike pot in with the ring with & with out a battier. It is a crying Shame dropped item that can not be recharged. I can understand made items like stalking probes just sell the husk and go make/buy more, some one in Zar likely selling a few. Oh well "swolbynos" LOL =D

You don't recharge this ring, you replace it with another that has two charges. What a waste.

Regal Band Of Bathezid is a lore ring with charges on it. hand RBOB back to Herald Telcha in Chardok and he gives it back recharged. perhaps there is a mob one can hand it to in BOT to get it recharged?

Would really suck though if mob just sucked it off you. If So you would have to kill him to get it back

A little late in answering all this BUT.. I just paid 500pp om EM for one of these.. NO charges left.. BUT who cares! Look at the stats :) As far as a re-charge I am under the impression that ONLY tinkered items can be re-charged.. correct me if I am wrong :) and yeah.. 750pp is a great deal :)

Umm...it may just be me, but why do people always insist on doing this?
Someone posts asking how to recharge it (may not be useful to you, but it may be to some) and everyone goes on for 100000 posts talking about "I wouldn't waste my time recharging it" or just get a mage to follow you aroud".
Why can't people either answer the question if they know or shut up. If you have something useful to say then by all means, say it. If you just want to make everyone think that you are uber and don't waste your time with little things like this, then please go away you are not needed here.
I would like to know how to recharge it (mostly out of curiosity, but it would be nice to be able to do it). So if you know, plz let us in =)

the only way to recharge this would be if it wasnt lore... if you sold one with 2 charges on it to an empty vendor and then the one with no charges, then bought both...

it might be expensive but it would work
RE: wow
# Feb 28 2004 at 4:00 PM Rating: Default
That doesn't work now. Not too long ago, there was a patch were merchants will now recognize charged items. If you sell an item with 0 charges and one with 2 to a merchant, when you go to buy them there will be a 0 charge and a 2 charge item in two different slots.

im told you are still able to do this with certain items. things like golem metal wand and prayers of life sell for a ton on zek and i believe they are rechargable via vendor farming. someone told me you can check by selling crystallized pumice (vendor sold pumice stones) and farming it. im lazy and never checked but maybe someone can confirm vendor farming still works.

again the ring is lore so you could not recharge your own ring alone this way. you would either need a friend or someone to sell thier ring first then sell yours then buy them back. in any case this would likely be more of a waste than just getting a new ring. AFAIK there is no quest to recharge it.

Mana batterys can be purchased in PoK of
Maryalis N'Ryt at loc -845 +188.
Thats in the building between the Neriak and Oggok stones.

However, don't waste your time with a toolbox, as I have tried all class of battery and none work.

I am not, however, a gnome, and as such have no tinkering skills. Recharging may be possible in a tinkerers bag as stated above, but i cannot confirm this.

I used my charges on this ring... Tried to figure out how to recharge the item, but I didn't have time to get a Class VI Mana Battery and test in my tinkering bag. I logged out... The next day I logged back in and the ring had 2 charges again. I am going to test to see if it happens again...

not worth it?
# Dec 01 2003 at 9:42 PM Rating: Decent
I'm guessing the people saying this ring is worthless are the wimpy players that don't try to walk that thin line between getting agro or not. Being an enchanter in need of a few extra droppable hp's, this ring is well worth the 2K I just spent on it. I would have paid 10. Go into the bazaar and do a search for finger items and sort by hp's, I dare you to find anything this good for close to 2K. Besides, if I like I can put an 8 int./8cha. aug on this from the BB camp if the stats weren't maxed and make it an even better caster ring. Think I'm going with FTI with it, because I doubt I replace it anytime soon.
uh..

for god's sake this ring has 75 hp. who the hell cares about the ****** damage shield? the dmg shield is just a plus on this kick *** item.
why gripe
# Nov 30 2003 at 9:57 PM Rating: Decent
Ok pleople, ya this is a gripe moun or complaint.

Peaple are asking where/how you get a item recharged why are you telling them that its not worth the run or the plat to spind, instid of being a compleat @$$hole about it why dont you post some usefull info, and stop telling people what they want to or dont want to do with the item, I have hurd that a mana battery class 6 will recharge it in a tinkerbag (havent tested this yet it could be bad info but it is what iv hurd people say) post back if it does work, mana batterys drop out of PoI off random mobs

ya a litte nagging and a little hopefully usefull info
my two cents
# Oct 31 2003 at 2:13 PM Rating: Decent
Has more Mana and HP than ValRings, so Being an SK and wearing both provides a great balance of both stats and Hp/Mana combo. Great ring for Knight class types!

A 4 point damage shield Isn't awhole lot, but your right, it does kinda add up, but look at the primary soloing classes, and you'll see that they get MUCH better damage shields than 4 points, SK's get a 16 point (i think its 16, i hardly ever use it) which acctually does make a small difference in normal mob health negation tactics, aka huntin' : )
Drop rate
# Oct 09 2003 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
The drop rate on this is rare to common. We camped the table last nite and of the three named mobs we killed 3 drops. Hope this helps.

the effect/charges = Who Cares?

it is a 75mana ring with stats. if that doesnt make you happy, then it is not intended for you anyway. pass on the roll, and let a priest/caster love it

;)

Charges?
# Jun 28 2003 at 7:47 AM Rating: Decent
This thing isn't worth what it's being sold for (10k+) or the effort to get it if it can't be recharged. I mean really. It drops off a semi-named mob in Bastion of Thunder. I'm level 62 and I want a ring with +3 stats and a damage shield that goes away after 2 uses? Hell no I don't!

RE: Charges?
# Dec 09 2003 at 2:39 PM Rating: Default
I have to agree with you. This ring just isnt that good. There are numerous other rings that are better and at the same price. If you are level 65 and this is your ring.. your gear sucks.
RE: Charges?
# Jul 31 2003 at 5:57 AM Rating: Good
Who cares about the charges? It only increases your DS by 4 anyway. You get this ring for the HP/mana more than anything else. 75 HP/mana is quite good for a tradeable ring.
RE: Charges?
# Jul 02 2003 at 2:26 AM Rating: Decent
the mob mostly drops nothing... so it's not common at all.

75hp/mana is worth quite a bit
charges?
# Jun 24 2003 at 8:54 PM Rating: Default
How unbalanced would it be to be unlimited charges? I mean 4 pt. ds isn't that great but it does stack with the ds anyone can cast on you. Doesn't the 8th ring have a 8 pt. ds with unlimited charges that also stacks with mage/druid ds? seems this effect is a waste and will have no impact on the price this ring will sell for. I do agree that a 75hp/mana ring isn't bad I think it will sell for around the price of a valor ring, possibly a smidge more for the rarity.

yes...I said smidge
RE: charges?
# Aug 06 2003 at 1:25 AM Rating: Decent
Unbalancing? No I don't think that it would be. A better question is : Is it a fair risk vs. reward?
The answer to that would be no, and your 8th ring example is a perfect fit to that argument. Let's look at the two rings and what is required to obtain them both :

Ring of Thunderous Spirits : Killing a mini-named during an experience grind in Bastion of Thunder.

Velium Coldain Insignia Ring (8th Coldain Ring) : A long and drawn-out quest (that up to this point is on step #8) involving farming countless greenies (at the point you are hunting in Bastion of Thunder they are green at least), tradeskills, and numerous mini-raids, plus having good faction with the coldain dwarves (which may include having to kill countless more greenies if you were not faction-concious in the beginning or having to join more raids for Tmax, Statue, AoW, etc).

Ultimately, I don't think it is a fair risk vs. reward to have a ring that drops off a mob that is a smidge (yes I said a smidge) more difficult than normal jord giants in a hugely popular experience zone be even *slightly* comparable to a huge quest ring in effect. While this theory is hardly ever practiced when new expansions come out (take shoulder slots dropped off tower bosses in Bastion of Thunder and compare them to the coldain prayer shawls), I am happy there are rare occasions where it was worth the effort to do the quest for a very satisfying and hard-to-match reward.
