This spell also stacks with the Mark of Retribution spell from OOW for a total of 79 reverse DS points + mage or druid DS = bard song DS. I have had over 120 points per hit of DS on me or my mob at one time.
This is a spell that is cast on the MOB. Any time that mobs hits ANY player, the beast will take 34 damage. Kind of like casting damage shield on every player in the zone that gets hit by that particular MOB.
Except that the players can ALSo have a regular DS. Since this is cast on the mob, there is no stacking problem. SO, the mob hits someone, and takes 34 points damage from this, PLUS whatever the players DS does.
Also can stick a healing damage shield on the mob, which strips the MOBS damage shield, and heals all players a few points each time THEY hit the mob.
It can be good for PLing when combined with druid/mage/ranger DS and/or a DS potion. can very easily get a +80 HP DS. However, for PLing I have found this spell to be buggy. If you are PLing a higher level toon who has no problem inflicting damage on the mob you will rarely if ever have an issue.
A character being PLed must inflict at least one point of damage. If the mob is killed entirely from the damage shield the mob poofs leaving no corpse and giving no exp. The trouble I have had with this spell is for some reason - and I am not about to submit a bug on it! - this DS tends to steal the exp even if the character inflicts damage. It happens more with characters who cant inflict 'real' damage on the mob then with a character who can. I have not entirely figured out when and under what circumstances the DS steals the exp - if it is happening with a toon I stop using it and rely on druid/ranger DS and/or potions until the toon can inflict serious damage on the mobs.
IF Uber mob_001 hits you normally for 250dmg, with this item (which is a click btw, you right click the legs with the mob targeted) he'll STILL hit you for 250dmg, but he'll get hit for 34dmg.
Think of it as a druid or mage DS, only you cast it on the mob not the player.

How can a spell that would be harmful to you if permanent be permanent. This has to be a triggered effect much like the MoK triggered Thurg/PoG BP. Is kind of funny to think about. Try to kill a green and end up taking more damage to yourself then they can do to you.
