Great Weapon

I love how elitests slam this weapon. With a 31% haste belt and our paladin Valor of Marr this weapon goes in at 41 delay. Sorry but that is AWESOME DAMAGE vs RATIO. I use it and I won't use anything else. My regular slashes are great with this and i frequently double for 700+

Soooooooo all the mobs, flagging zones, etc etc etc are ALL just so that we can fight another in useless attempts of "I'm better than j00000000!!!11!!"?

No... somehow, I don't think so.
RE: ...
# Oct 19 2004 at 10:14 AM Rating: Decent
Lots of people can kill mobs, with their set scripts and programmed responses. However, when fighting another player, you are in fact trying to kill something that thinks and adapts. I know this will most likely get flamed but I personally feel that it takes a much more skilled player to pvp than pve.
RE: ...
# Jul 01 2005 at 11:28 AM Rating: Default
Not really. Yes, the adrenaline rush is greater playing vs people than mobs. But pvp doesn't mean you're a better player, period. It just means you prefer to play vs. people and deal with the griefers. Some of us don't like to be trained 24/7 when we raid, so we don't want to pvp. Doesn't mean we CAN'T pvp.

So sick of pvp buttholes that think like you do. With the merger of servers all these aholes have come outta the pvp servers and shown what totally incompetent raiders they are. Ya, they can kill a toon, but 72 of em failed on RZ while we killed him with 40.

So who is the better player?

Smiley: twocentsYou could say PvP is tougher than PvE because you are fighting an adaptive thinking RL mind.
Smiley: twocents

On the other hand, some people were born of a lesser intellect and skill, making that a moot point.

Now let's take into account that these "adapting" PvP fights are still confined within game operation and parameter, making them as automated as any PvE, excepting that PvE can directly modify statistics via Artificial Intelligence and difficulty modifiers.

Think what you like, I always lose my duels! Smiley: oyvey Lol

Edit: Forgot to mention, the damage side of this weapon is what got me looking in the first place, but looking at the time involved in getting to where it drops.. I'll be lazy and stick to newer ex-packs! Oh hey look! There's an EoE for sale in tha bazaar! Haha

Ther are MANY forms of intelligence, least of which is memorization. The athlete who can manipulate his muscles to perform feats is using a highly gifted intelligence. The mechanic who can intuitively fix cars is intelligent. Not just the computer geeks and math majors have the lock on intelligence. In fact, the acknowledgement of ones own overall ignorance of everythign is the greatest form of intelligence.

Why is it coated with plankton? Couldn't you use the Brasso Soaked Rag of Innorok to clean it?
RE: Flame this
# Jul 06 2004 at 9:22 PM Rating: Decent
wouldn't the Brasso Soaked Rag of Innoruuk turn this not a Fine Steel weapon if you used it with a sharpening stone? You guys suck!
RE: Flame this
# Jul 04 2004 at 4:43 PM Rating: Decent
Its not coated, its laced with plankton you n00b. And yes the brasso soaked rag of Innoruuk will clean it but it is monk only equipplable because it is 0.0 weight and only monks should get no weight items because they are teh \/\/ / /\/ and you are teh suck!
Weaponshield
# Jul 03 2004 at 10:17 AM Rating: Default
This is godly for weaponshield, instead of letting a plate class get, give it to your friendly neighborhood Ranger, so much more useful.
RE: Weaponshield
# Jul 03 2004 at 7:55 PM Rating: Decent
How is it good for weaponshield? Weaponshield is not a riposte disc as I understand, it is a -parry- disc, allowing you to -parry- blows. I think you have weaponshield confused with Furious, the Warrior -riposte- disc. (That or I never played a ranger and am working with only 50% of the information needed to reply properly)
RE: Weaponshield
# Jul 03 2004 at 8:53 PM Rating: Good
Weaponshield, unlike what I had originally thought, IS auto-parry, NOT auto-riposte. Only warriors get that as far as I know.

65 Delay on this guy? Not a primary use weapon, that's for sure. But then, I'm also a pre-Sol Ro Ranger. I could be quite wrong.
RE: Weaponshield
# Jul 05 2004 at 3:25 AM Rating: Decent
Rogues get auto-riposte discipline also. Counter-Attack in the early 50s I believe.
RE: Weaponshield
# Jul 06 2004 at 7:56 AM Rating: Decent
Monks also get Whirlwind at 54, if I recall, correctly. Works like a champ for Tipt bosses and big pulls in Normal LDoN's and what-not where the mobs are easily beaten down.

This weapon is HORRIBLE. The ONLY good thing this is for is for dueling. way too slow for elemental + killing.
RE: >.<
# Sep 04 2004 at 9:49 PM Rating: Default
WHAT!?!?! only good for PvP eh? ok, heres my overview, being a big fan of heavy hitters as a lvl 59 paladin. The slower, the stronger, the better. plenty of speed classes, monks rangers wariors beastlords, everything, only hard hitters are Paladins and Shadowknights. until the last expansion that is, so now maybe Bers. too, but in all reasonablility... this wep ownz. just with self haste i can knock this down to about 40, and i have a 36% haste belt too. ask anyone who uses big slow hard weps and they will tell you to shuv your WMBS up your rear and get this, hehe, no offence, but this cant be beat 2hs wise.

unless your an ubertwink 65 who can get the 75//30 from GoD. Trust me on this, and almsot all 2hs paladins will agree
RE: >.<
# Jan 29 2005 at 7:57 PM Rating: Decent
This is not true. Unless you have like 13 ATK a weapon with 22 delay and a weapon with 44 delay that have the SAME ratio will provide similar DPS. The Damage bonus is nice but parses have shown with higher ATK it's all about ratio.

i wonder
# Jun 02 2004 at 7:31 PM Rating: Decent
epop 20% , fcov 41%, kgob 30%.....91% haste with this guy : ) thats crazy, 3.4 delay....not bad to be triplin every 3 and a half seconds with this monster...( btw thats all self haste )........or you could just use an ornate greatblade, comes out to be 1.2 delay or basicaly a tripple every second.... tho i wonder how much the average ornategreat blade hits are compared to this swords hits..( as a 65 warrior maxed aa's n stats ), im guessing average hit with this would be around 350 and the average for the ornate greatblade would be around 150. even tho the ornates comparative efficiency isnt too hot, still comes out to some crazy damage : )
<-- posts useless thoughts...
RE: i wonder
# Jul 02 2004 at 8:46 PM Rating: Decent
Holy crap your post is wrong, dly and haste dont work anything like that. You arent cutting the delay down by 91%. If you had 100% haste, if would only cut the delay in half total, a 20Delay wep with 100% haste becmes a 10 delay weapon, its "100% faster" Otherwise a 20 Delay weapon would be spamming so fast it would be a blur
RE: i wonder
# Jul 07 2004 at 1:14 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry in advance for the long post, but he is right. Take a look at what he is saying. He is saying that the weapons effective delay with the listed haste would be 3.4 (seconds). This can be infered by the next sentence that says you would triple every three and a half seconds. Now I know everyone loves formulas and you have probably seen this one numerous times but here goes:

effective delay = delay * (1 /(1 + haste))

Enter his information into that equation and you get:

effective delay = 65 * (1 / (1 + 91%))
effective delay = 65 * (1 / (1 + .91))
effective delay = 65 * (1 / 1.91)
effective delay = 65 * .52356...
effective delay = 34.03141...

Translate that into seconds (divide by 10) and you get the 3.4 he refered to earlier.
This thing is awesome!
# May 25 2004 at 3:17 PM Rating: Decent
I dont see how anyone couldnt like this, if your grouped with an enchanter and a bard, you have a 41% haste, have the enchanter caast haste spell on you, and bard play the haste song, this would be a VERY fast weapon!
Love it !.
# May 03 2004 at 3:45 PM Rating: Decent
Got this today from the Warder, we then went down and off'd the Seer and guess what ,, yep he dropped another.

My first crit was 615 and my highest to-date ( since ive only had it about 4 hours at time of posting ) was a very nice 819.
Big plus which is doesnt actually show you here is at 65th level it gives you a damage bonus of 63 too for a SK .

Farmed this one for Paladins in guild...big and SLOW, and doesn't get too much aggro. Swings like molasses and hits like a truck. The warriors seem to favour the weps with hate procs that generate aggro, while of course the hybrids don't want it.

The graphic on this looks exactly like a Blade of War, which I suspect is the real reason the hybrids all wanted it. Nothing like kidding thje warriors that they have a BoW. Grin.

Dropped off the Egg Keeper for us, and can be killed by a single grp of Ele people, or 2 grps not so well rquipped. Spawns in a difficult place in Water, but our monk pulled it out of a bunch of adds (go Darine) and it dropped relatively easily. Like a lot of PoP minis, high damage mob with not many HPs or AC. Summarily nuked into the deck!!
And so ,?

and the only wep better than this for 2hs paladins in the timeless coral greatsword o_O unless ur looking at GoD, in which case the Halbard of Endless pain takes the cake :D

i agree with the poster, ide use this as well if it had the slot, but it dont (dangit...), and a better wep for paladin? i think not, warriors are for speed, paladins are the snails, slow, but when theya re on u, ur never gunna get out :)

Im reading all these posts about paladins being
heavy hitters I play a warrior on BB and woulnr mind having 1 for those times wen im not main tank

and alot times wen im tanking in raid or killing low lv trains I use furis displin riputose 100% incoming combat for 9sec Im using a fabled exe axe for that now 50/60 avrage hit 270to400
depinds on buffs

on most raids dering names warrior is sent in to gain agro the deps classes whate for call assist
I us this tactic run in tand atack furis displin tand kick call for slow furis disfades change to def dis call for assist change to more agro making weps have never lost agro buy doing this
I rely more on dps to get agro than procs procs are random and unrelyable not too metion I just did a good chunk damage too mob just buy getting agro

so im guessing if i get my sticky fingers on 1 these I can get some more agro and have something better for wen Im just added dps

every class that can use this should if they get the chance but all wepions in the game have a use
even those fine steel short swords melt them down turn them into armer then sell them takes time but you can make 50PP as aposed to the normle 5pp

# Jan 02 2004 at 7:06 PM Rating: Decent
what augmentation would you suggest for such a fine weapon to increase its DPS?
*sigh*
# Dec 17 2003 at 8:16 PM Rating: Default
I like high damage weapons and a don't dislike slow weapons. It's ashame that there aren't any weapons with more than 45ish delay that have good ratios compared to other weapons of the same difficulty to obtain.
